My favorite thing from the ATS tour was how "Burning in the Skies" progressed, starting as part of APFMH, then on it's own, and eventually turning into a great performance by the end of the tour. I love how Chester & Mike harmonized on the verses towards the end. I hope they keep the song in the setlists, but I doubt it since it's pretty boring live.

I'd hate to see Linkin Park go old school just because sales aren't what they used to be. I would rather they put out an album they like and are proud of instead of songs like "Runaway" or "Hit the Floor" that they'll play once and never again. I'll always have a soft spot for the "old LP", but I don't ever see Chester going back to his old vocal style. What reason does he have to scream? I'd like more rapping from Mike (ever heard that before lol) but I think I'll like the new LP record no matter what. They're "my band" and I'll always find something to like about their music, especially with Chaz & MS behind the mics.

Heard the remix a couple days ago and LOVE it. I hope LP make a legit "dubstep" track before the fad dies out.

The reason why 'State Of The Art' was never released?
sublimeric replied to sckofelng's topic in Newswire
Great post, and agreed 100%. LBF or GFY! As for Chester & Lethal, I'd like to know more...especially why Lethal would do business the way he did. Why throw away 25k if he knew the label could veto the track? Did Chester give him the impression that all the legal stuff was taken care of? Or did Chester go to the label and have it blocked, since he's made it known that he didn't like the song? There's a lot we don't know about the situation, and it sucks to see things immediately degenerate to "Limp sucks!" instead of trying to figure out what went down. On the bright side, Lethal DID release the high quality version of it, so what's the problem? -
LPU Tour @ Worcester, MA Meteora World Tour @ Worcester, MA Projekt: Revolution 2008 @ Mansfield, MA A Thousand Suns World Tour @ Boston, MA The LPU tour was hands down my favorite of the bunch. Seeing LP at a club was incredible, and everyone from the fans to the band had way more energy than when they played at the TD Garden in Boston this past February. Another USA club tour is long overdue!

You're being too modest. This site blows away any and all other fan sites for any band I've seen, and continues to get better. Huge props to you, Mark, and the entire LPL staff, visitors, and everyone in between for making this site so great. I don't visit the official LP site and have not been an LPU member for a couple years now, because I don't need to. LPL is where it's at! Thanks and keep it up!

I think they're all terrible. With the exception of "She Couldn't", I dislike any/all LP material pre-"Hybrid Theory", including any demos for that album. The "Meteora" demos are boring without vocals, too. I prefer b-sides, remixes & even live tracks (in the case of cool stuff like "High Voltage" @ Docklands) over this stuff.

12.11.2011 - Scottsdale, AZ (Stars Of The Season) *DBS*
sublimeric replied to hahninator's topic in Previous Show Discussion
Nobody cares about DBS, so I doubt they'll release it. No offense to DBS fans or the band themselves, but "Out Of Ashes" was a flop, the band has been inactive forever, and there's just no buzz about this show or DBS in general right now. -
I want a remastered "She Couldn't" or an EP of all covers. C'mon LP. Make it happen :-D

Best Hybrid-Theory-Era Proshot/Soundboard Recording
sublimeric replied to leftshoe18's topic in Live Talk
HBO: Reverb is my favorite pro-shot video of the HT era. Rock & Roll Hall of Fame deserves to be mentioned too. Audio-wise, I like the BBC Radio performances because it was more than just a song or two and great quality. -
I wish no ill will on any of the band members, but if there's a disposable, nameless/faceless/useless member, it's definitely Phoenix. Besides "Given Up", he's pretty non-existent, at least off the top of my head.

04.07.2011 - London, England - iTunes Festival
sublimeric replied to hahninator's topic in Previous Show Discussion
I would think the exact opposite. Without time to butcher the recording with overdubs, cuts, and the most jarring crowd mixing ever, it should be GREAT! After listening to a years worth of DSP's, it was refreshing and great to hear LP's live show before Pooch could fuck it all up. No offense to him if he's doing what he's told, but I highly doubt Mike Shinoda called him up and said, "Hey, can you jack the audience noise up 5000% then completely mute it randomly? Thanks!" End of rant and / or I hope the US iTunes store sells the Adele cover soon. -

I NEED IT. UK, help Being a lowly American (ever heard of us?) I routinely get screwed out of international exclusives. I think I should move. I'll gladly trade the live show for bonus tracks. -

Great to hear a higher quality (and uncensored) rip is on the way. I only want "Rolling in the Deep" but the whole show is a keeper, if only because it's yet another gig that will be better than Madrid when I burn it to DVD :-p -

LP are dropping the ball bigtime if they don't find a way to release the Adele cover. I see past iTunes Festival performances have been released on iTunes, so considering that and LP's DSP mentality plus their apparent great standing with iTunes, I hope we see an official release at some point. -

http://soundcloud.com/sublimeric-1/lp-roll...-the-deep-live# Boring show with an almost identical setlist to what I saw in Boston in February...with the exception of Chester blowing my @#$%^ mind with the Adele cover. I saved the audio and put it on SoundCloud via the link above for the time being, until (hopefully) a video surfaces. Amazing cover! -
Rollin' in the Deep would be great, but I think it'll be a collaboration or old song (Papercut, most likely. This is LP we're talking about).
-
I prefer the original but don't really care for either version. My biggest issue with the Iridescent remix is that it's not a *GOOD* remix. It sounds like something you could make in 20 minutes with a free audio editor. On the bright side, it's cool that they performed it on TV, so we at least have it. I would have preferred that they do the intro piano chords, then go directly into "QWERTY", but that's just me. :-p
-
I *HATE* the way the crowd noise has been mixed, at least for the ATS North American tour. The crowd is either super loud for 5 seconds (then abruptly "faded" out) or non-existent. For some bands this wouldn't be an issue but LP have such a sing-a-long aspect to their shows that the mixing is a big black eye on the DSP's.
-
I bought ATS+ when it came out and feel the same way as everyone else: Ok show, would be better on Bluray, the MP3's sound excellent (but definitely post-produced quite a bit) and I wish they used the NYC show instead. I definitely expect another album before we get a new live DVD, too.
-
I'm cool with Joe sampling beats and sound effects but definitely agree on the anti-lip syncing stance. LP have been this way forever, though, citing "perfectionism" when it really just sounds overproduced and fake most of the time.

Chester & Mike - "Rolling In The Deep" (Adele Cover)
sublimeric replied to hahninator's topic in Newswire
For the most part, I love it, but it could use 3 key improvements next time: 1) Chester needs to work on or find a way around the high notes, or change the chorus to "Warbling In the Deep" 2) Mike needs to provide some falsetto backing vocals ("Rolling in the deep!") 3) Our German LPU friends should YouTube "Clapping Synchronization" Seriously, though, awesome that they did something like this, and Chester nailed it for the most part. I was hoping he would incorporate some of the scream/singing that he does in "The Messenger", but this is overall great and reminds me of when Mike covered "Umbrella" a few years ago. -
No kidding. I voted for songs I've never seen, or at least haven't been released on a DVD
