  1. You can usually buy at least 2 tickets, and most likely can get more than that with just one LPU membership. In the past, LPU has also eliminated some of the service fees that you would usually get charged with if you bought tickets through LiveNation or TicketMaster, too. Not sure if they're doing that this time?
  2. Cool video, and the Summit sounded GREAT, but I wonder how much of that will actually happen once the band is playing 3 or 4 shows a week. They have to rehearse, have families, need to do press interviews etc, so interested to see how much of this "reanimated" LPU is for real
  3. Tough to round up people for a show when there's no date or location until the shows are on sale, so hopefully the dates are released a LITTLE bit before. I'm thinking LP will tour with someone on their iTunes celebrity playlist, but would like to see the Dirty Heads as the opening band. Chester is a fan, and although a lot of their music leans towards reggae-rock, they mix enough genres together to be "LP Lite" (younger and no screams)
  4. I wish they would leave the mistakes as is, but something's better than nothing. Can't wait for more DSPs!
  5. So now that we've gone through the "live" years and "instrumental" era, maybe LPU11 will be mostly a capellas? I'm down
  6. Sounds like a great time if you were there and just another show if you get the DSP's and have seen FTI on both (!) of their live DVDs. They must be saving the good stuff for the US tour as pe usual :-)
  7. After all the interludes on ATS I was hoping for 10 "new" (old) tracks with Chaz/MS all over it. Better than nothing although the vocals are 90% of the reason why I love LP. No wonder Mike promoted it as the best LPU CD ever; it was pretty much a vocal vacation for him ;-)
  8. Not a fan of instrumentals, but cool that there's a rap track! Thanks for the updates
  9. Great news! Can't wait for the "Link please?" bannage to begin any second now! Surprised that they put "Pretend to Be" on there, since I thought it was exclusive to the LPUX Download. May as well have thrown "Blackbird" on there if that's the case. I think LP and the hardcore fans have a different definition of "surprise", too. I'm hoping "No Roads Left" but expecting a 15 minute piano version of BTH ;-)
  10. had no fucking idea that the "world stage" / ema show would be out like, NOW. this makes me love LPL more now
  11. Thanks for the clip! Still kicking myself almost a decade later that I didn't check out the Family Values Tour that year. STP were my favorite band as a kid, then passed that torch to LP. I'd kill to see Chester perform with Scott, especially on "Wonderful." Hopefully they'll somehow tour again in the future.
  12. If the live performance is going to be edited, it's the same as replacing the guns with walkie-talkies in "ET", George Lucas fucking with "Star Wars", and so on. LP are once again catering to the casual fan that will buy the show they went to, rather than leaving in "mistakes" and making each show more of a unique collector's item.
  13. 100% with you on this my friend! I'd love to see ATS played start to finish, then come back and play a 45 minute set of singles, staples, etc. If LP are going to play the same old songs everyone has seen and heard a million times in person and on DSPs, they should change it up. It would be cool to see the "Reanimation" version of some songs or to get another medley like Nobody's Listening/It's Goin Down/Step Up.
  14. LPU are marketing geniuses. Double the price while eliminating the package, and most will still rush to sign up. I hope they really come through on "exclusives" to justify the price tag, but even if they don't, it's not like every other big band isn't charging at least $30 just to buy a jacked up concert ticket. The state of the industry kinda sorta sucks.
  15. It definitely does, especially when they are "fixing" mistakes to make every show sound generic. Hopefully LP will be comfortable with the new songs and stage before the US tour so they can mix it up. Considering the prep-work needed for songs (samples, lighting etc) and the band's hatred for certain material (Runaway, No Roads Left, etc), not too confident that we'll see more than 30 different songs on the complete touring cycle. Kind of sucks, since bands like 311 play at least 80 different tracks on a standard summer tour. At least Mike's there to throw in a random verse here and there!
  16. Love the "acapella" tracks that are floating around. Cool to have a kinda/sorta "piano version" of "Burning in the Skies"
  17. As much as I hate the decision to edit the DSP's, at least they aren't censored like the early LPU CD's and "Live in Texas" were. I wish they'd at least give us the option to purchase the original OR "fixed" versions of the shows, though.
  18. AMEN, Chester! As much as I hate "Runaway" and some of the other songs, though, if one guy (out of 6) dislikes a song it shouldn't be retired forever. The albums are about the band, but the live shows should be for the fans. Fans might want to hear "Runaway", "QWERTY", "No Roads Left" etc. Thanks for the scans!
  19. Somebody issue a diva alert for Chazzy Chaz. Teamwork is great, but a 5-1 vote shouldn't go in Chester's favor, especially when the request comes from a LPU/Street Team/Fan site member. Great job with the RME history lesson, Hahninator
  20. The DSP's definitely don't do the crowds justice in ANY city. I'm surprised they don't mic the audience better, or make the fans louder in the final mix, considering LP are so big on the "let me hear you!" sing-a-long thing. I like the mixes for the Sonisphere '09 and Reading Festival (Numb/ITE) where the crowd almost drowns out Chester
  21. I ripped a YouTube video and synced it up with the Berlin DSP for "The Messenger." Such an amazing performance by Chester. I'm bored to tears with "My December" & "Pushing Me Away", but hearing this for the first time gave me chills, especially when used to the weak (IMO) album version. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r_vRjUPvMDk
  22. Listened to the whole show and was blown away at how excellent Chester was on both "When they Come For Me" and (especially) "The Messenger." I'm re-burning "A Thousand Suns" with the live version of "The Messenger" at the end. So good!
  23. mix sounds raw. i like it!
  24. First DSP of the tour? I'm in. Curious to hear if they fixed Mike's "Burning in the Skies" mistake...
