  1. It definitely does, especially when they are "fixing" mistakes to make every show sound generic. Hopefully LP will be comfortable with the new songs and stage before the US tour so they can mix it up. Considering the prep-work needed for songs (samples, lighting etc) and the band's hatred for certain material (Runaway, No Roads Left, etc), not too confident that we'll see more than 30 different songs on the complete touring cycle. Kind of sucks, since bands like 311 play at least 80 different tracks on a standard summer tour. At least Mike's there to throw in a random verse here and there!
  2. Love the "acapella" tracks that are floating around. Cool to have a kinda/sorta "piano version" of "Burning in the Skies"
  3. As much as I hate the decision to edit the DSP's, at least they aren't censored like the early LPU CD's and "Live in Texas" were. I wish they'd at least give us the option to purchase the original OR "fixed" versions of the shows, though.
  4. AMEN, Chester! As much as I hate "Runaway" and some of the other songs, though, if one guy (out of 6) dislikes a song it shouldn't be retired forever. The albums are about the band, but the live shows should be for the fans. Fans might want to hear "Runaway", "QWERTY", "No Roads Left" etc. Thanks for the scans!
  5. Somebody issue a diva alert for Chazzy Chaz. Teamwork is great, but a 5-1 vote shouldn't go in Chester's favor, especially when the request comes from a LPU/Street Team/Fan site member. Great job with the RME history lesson, Hahninator
  6. The DSP's definitely don't do the crowds justice in ANY city. I'm surprised they don't mic the audience better, or make the fans louder in the final mix, considering LP are so big on the "let me hear you!" sing-a-long thing. I like the mixes for the Sonisphere '09 and Reading Festival (Numb/ITE) where the crowd almost drowns out Chester
  7. I ripped a YouTube video and synced it up with the Berlin DSP for "The Messenger." Such an amazing performance by Chester. I'm bored to tears with "My December" & "Pushing Me Away", but hearing this for the first time gave me chills, especially when used to the weak (IMO) album version. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r_vRjUPvMDk
  8. Listened to the whole show and was blown away at how excellent Chester was on both "When they Come For Me" and (especially) "The Messenger." I'm re-burning "A Thousand Suns" with the live version of "The Messenger" at the end. So good!
  9. mix sounds raw. i like it!
  10. First DSP of the tour? I'm in. Curious to hear if they fixed Mike's "Burning in the Skies" mistake...
  11. The "new" songs in the set were "old" 4 years ago, aka the last time LP played them to death. That's LP's biggest issue. Nothing is special after the first time, as the DSP era has proven. Unimpressed by the stage setup, too. After all the talk of overhauling the live show, what was all the fuss about? It looks incredibly weak after reading interviews and watching the VMA & laser show videos. Cool that they aknowledge us and we have a forum to praise and complain. I love LP but think they have the resources to do so much more. A thousand Suns was a step forward; the live shows are a step back.
  12. It's all about reaching as many people as possible, which unfortunately caters to the casual fan and greatly ignores the hardcore audience. Sometimes you get lucky with a group like Dave Matthews Band, but for the most part, any and all mainstream bands are going to play the songs that got them to the main stage in the first place. "One Step Closer" will always make the set, and we might never hear "With You" again. The only way around it, in my opinion, will be an LPU Tour. Even if LP lose their money and popularity tomorrow, they'd just be like all the other nu-metal bands (Limp Bizkit, anyone?) who play all the hits hoping to fill a barn in Russia with nostalgic fans.
  13. This! Just wished they would have seperated the interviews from the (excellent) performances and put this out as the bonus DVD.
  14. I disagree 100% with Pooch, if only because certain things (mistakes) have been edited out of shows, and I would rather have it sound like it did at the show. Save the nice and shiny remixes for the official live albums/DVDs they release in stores.
  15. Yeah, so the black screen o' death kind of sucks at the moment. Maybe they forgot they weren't supposed to broadcast LP, or there was a 4 song limit, or some logical reason for the awful elevator music and gumby dancing
  16. Cool to see so much love for ATS on the first setlist. I'm one of the people that wants a full album show and could care less about anything they've done over and over for ten years. It makes sense to play the hits, but will always rub the hardcore fan the wrong way. Viva la LPU tour
  17. Reminds me of a cool iTunes-type visualizer. Love it, even if my expectations were permanently lowered when LP started a video with Chester in his underwear (Shadow of the Day).
  18. Love what Mike wrote, and the new album is my favorite LP release to date. LP remind me of Limp Bizkit. Every time Limp put out a song or album, 95% of the "fans" whine that it doesn't sound like their first album. Despite this, every release sounds different (some more than others), and I appreciate that as a listener. Will "Jornada Del Muerto" hold up as well as "Figure.09" 7 years from now? Maybe not, but like "Reanimation" and "Collision Course", I look at "ATS" as just another item on the Linkin Park menu.
  19. After 10 years as a band that has spent more time playing live shows than making records, Linkin Park should be playing a completely different setlist every night. The "rotating setlists" cop-out isn't acceptable in a time when ticket prices are rising, people are struggling to get by, and bands are earning their living on the road. The exception to the rule would be if they follow through on the idea to completely overhaul their live show, and ditch the "banner with the band name" stage setup. I'll sacrifice a cool setlist for some badass special effects if they do it right. Rant aside, I want to see ATS live in its entirety. Anything else is bonus.
  20. great interview. cool that he mentioned the dirty heads!
  21. I'm not sure how it'll hold up over time, but I definitely connect to "Waiting for the End" and will be dissapointed if it doesn't become the biggest single of all-time. Obviously it won't, but I love it regardless
  22. I'm not surprised. The lead single is weak, they changed their sound (to an extent), and nobody buys music :-/
  23. Amen. I hate the vocal effects and even with the tricks, it's still sounds weak from the pro-shot videos we've seen. I only want to see this live if it's part of a full album performance... Bummer to get 3 singles from MySpace, but at least "Waiting For the End" was included, and they'll hopefully perform it at the MTV Europe awards. Should be in full "second single" mode by then
  24. go away Hawk Anyone know when the DSP will be available for download? I'm looking forward to collecting all the ATS tracks on the upcoming tour
