LPU is great for the CD, but since LPlive came to be, the LPU is pretty much useless, especially in "trial" form (no CD, no tour, no point.)
-
At this point the "new" album is "old" news, at least until the band are ready to let us hear it. Musicians are con artists anyways, always claiming the new album is going to sound "completely different", remind you of famous band XYZ, or my favorite lie in rock music: "it's our heaviest yet!" it's a waste of time to wait around for inside scoop on songs you may never hear, especially from Linkin Park, who regularly bullshit us. Not a diss on the guys, but they'd rather goof around or duck a question than give strangers detailed info on their daily lives in the studio. I'd rather hear about what inspires the band, who they'd like to tour with, what songs they love/hate to perform, etc. At least there's only a few more months of "WHEN IS THE ALBUM OUT?!" Then we move onto "WHAT IS ON LPU 10 CD?!"

At this point I want Mike & Chester to quit LP and be a duo. From "Reanimation" onward, nothing any of the other guys have done is on par with Mike's production skills or Chester's vocal ability. I could be way off in saying that, and maybe it really is a team effort, but from Listening to Chaz sing and seeing Mike produced tracks continue to be great, the other four are either amazing at staying under the radar of modesty or riding the coat tails of sucess. Flame on. Blackbirds is great though. Someday LP will bust out a real guitar solo or a slap bass line that will shut me up. Their style works for their sound...I just hope it evolves into a real band of killer musicians like you find in Red Hot Chili Peppers, 311, or even their nu-metal father, Limp Bizkit. (some will cry "Korn!" others can scream "deftones!" but only Bizkit sold a million albums in a week)

Go to the "Apps" section of your iTunes library. Right click on "8 Bit Rebellion" Select "View in Windows Explorer" Right click on the 8 bit rebellion App file (ends in .ipa I think) Select "Open With..." Choose WinZip or WinRar From within either program, extract the music video (it's .m4v) and the MP3's to your PC.

This, this, and this.

I feel pretty much the same, though it's cool to have "Blackbird" and the 8 "8-bit" versions of LP tracks. I actually dig the music video. It reminds me of the mini-documentaries that were released with all of the Beatles remasters a few months ago.

I'm "Sublimeric". Beat the game tonight, but thought the coolest part of the whole experience was seeing random LPL members walking around in the different areas.
-
EDIT: NEVERMIND! Figured it out Not sure if anyone has asked this, but does anyone know how to rip/convert/open/access the 2 videos on a PC? I don't wan to fuck around with translating LPR for someone else's rip. I know the App itself is an IPA file, but my inner geek is stumped.

1. "New Divide" - Like "What I've Done", but better. Love the bridge. 2. "Across the Line" - I love the beat. It's LP, but different. 3. "Blackbirds" - Just because Mike is rapping again. Would have been killer with a kickass rock/metal/scream ending, but oh well. 4. "Lockjaw" - Does this even count? I thought it was for a Protools demo? Still cool. 5. "No Alone" - If they ever play this live, it will be labeled "Bathroom Break" on the setlist
-
How do I beat the final @#$%^ boss? I know to shoot at his tongue, even though I'm too slow for that, but how do you avoid his stupid ass swooping? The game is pretty cool. Saw Hahninator and Adam earlier!
-
Doesn't anyone read the main page anymore? I feel for the mods, but LOL at the "you will be banned" in giant font rage. I haven't read through all 3 million posts asking for PM's, but if you beat the game does it unlock an MP3? If not, pretty lame, but hopefully there will be some instructions floating around here on how to get it from iWhatever to PC.
-
So... since the only versions floating around right now are "crappy quality", that leads me to believe you don't unlock an MP3 of the song when you beat the game? I was planning on purchasing 8BR, but not if I can only listen to "Blackbirds" within the app. I'm sure that LP will eventually double dip and put it for sale, like they did with the Haiti stuff on iTunes and the Road to Revolution bluray.

Just listened to Blackbird on YouTube and think Mike and Chester killed it. Mike, in a great way, and Chaz in a "I'm going to edit out his parts" bad way. I loved songs like "My December" because it was unique at the time. But after "Little Things", "Not Alone", and the piano overkill of the live shows, The mellow side of LP bores me to tears. Botom line: Chester Bennington needs a new popper stopper.

what happened to the d/l link? for some reason my itunes won't display ringtones.
-
LP should do 21+ USA-only chats, and International all-ages chats. Or best: an LPlive only chat! It would present a great opportunity to avoid stupid questions and "come to my country" spamming. Kidding. Kind of. Cool that Mike is becoming more active with the fan interaction, though I don't see it lasting too long. After 10 minutes he just gets flooded with 95% stupidity.
-
Anyone else see the LPL tweet about 8 bit sampler tracks? One Step Closer & Faint were listed but now the link is broken...
-
Reanimation-style remixes, new songs, b-sides or acoustic versions. Any of these would probably make me pretty happy. LPU 9 did a good job of raising expectations, so I assume we'll get a live CD of all the singles from the Summer 2011 tour :-p
-
It's just weird to me that LP never did anything with the concert/bonus footage that was in theaters. It wasn't their best show ever, and the extra studio stuff wasn't mind blowing, but it definitely is something even a casual LP fan could enjoy. They sell sneakers, video games, etc, but pretend the concert/bonus footage doesn't exist. Strange.

Chaz collaborated with STP on "Wonderful" and LP toured with them too. Has just as much to do with Linkin Park as Julian-K does. Nice to see JK post a good update. The watered down "nothing happens" LPTV vids have numbed my brain for a couple years now.
-
Stone Temple Pilot's new single, "Between the Lines", is out now too. http://www.myspace.com/stonetemplepilots

Maybe they just don't have anything to update us on. What do you expect? Monthly video blog saying, "Yep, still writing. Still recording." At least the updates are coming from the studio, and we can assume (?) they're actually working on this thing.

Simma down, JK fanboys. Make all the excuses you want, but random JK b-sides have nothing to do with Linkin Park. And you can't compare it to DBS or FM, because Linkin Park members are actually IN those bands. JK are 2nd cousins to LP, at best. If Chaz produces a record, or plays a live show, that's cool. But just because the admin have a hard on for Ryan Shuck doesn't mean we need to know every time he takes a shit. If you're going to suck the teet of JK based on their supposed affilitation, be fair about it, and cover all of the other irrelevant news from LP's past. Mike remixed tracks for Depeche Mode and Metric, but I don't see any info about either of those bands here. There's not 40 updates a week about Holly Brook or Camp Freddy, either. It's cool that you guys are passionate about JK, but dont bait-and-switch LP fans who come here for LP news. Make a seperate forum, or a seperate site. Please and thanks. I'm sure you'll understand all of my points, and ban me as a result lol .

Shouldn't this be on JKlive.net? I'm sick of reading about these bums. Their association with Linkin Park is like when your Dad's best friend comes over and you call him "Uncle." At least start a sub-page or something.
