  1. I've listened to the DSP version of LIES GREED MISERY from the Lisbon, PinkPop & Skive and am not a fan so far. The song as a whole is good, but the apparent backing track that Mike uses to double his voice irritates me to no end. For year, LP's live sound has been the driving force behind me being a fan, and if they are going to try and make things sound more (overproduced) like the studio versions, via backing tracks or instruments, I'm not feeling it. I prefer Chester just back Mike up like he does in "Papercut" verses.
  2. I rank my favorite shows based on when Chester sounds best. Unfortunately he's hit or miss most of the time but it makes it fun to hear all the DSP's and try to pick out his best performances. The rest of the band is alright, too :-p
  3. This whole thing is silly. LP should be happy people are listening to the album period, regardless of when that process happens. I assume the I DON'T WANT TO HEAR ANYTHING BEFORE THE RELEASE! people will be happy to have Mike's support though :-p
  4. By the time LP play their first setlist on the Honda Civic Tour, they will have 64 studio songs to choose from. I realize that some of those tracks are instrumentals, intros, interludes and other words that start with "in", but regardless, it won't kill the band to shuffle the singles/staples in and out or drop a few entirely. "Crawling" is the song that made me a LP fan back in 2001 when it hit radio, but aside from the duet with Chris Cornell, it's been boring for about a decade. Even the "Hands Held High" and REANIMATION intro got real old real fast. There's a good chance that listening to every DSP burns me out on songs quicker than the average fan, but still. LP are only playing half of their catalog, and greedy super fans like me want more PS: Props to LPL for the "Crawling" stats!
  5. Can't wait for the Berlin DSP to be uploaded! Anxious to hear a new setlist now that I've played the hell out of the "Main Festival" set :-p
  6. Yeah the MTM "intro" was great! Surprised that they still have yet to release that footage. Hopefully the same thing will happen for this show, though I expect a generic greeting by LP. Hopefully it's as good as the "Will you be there, will you be watching" promo on the Frat Party DVD :-p
  7. I sat in my piece of shit '97 car at midnight listening to ATS and enjoying some greenery. It was before the release date but incredible, namely the moment they "got me", during Chester's bridge in WTCFM. I plan on recreating the same scenario for "Living Things" whenever I have 40 minutes and a good quality version of it. Hopefully the mastering won't be all over the place like ATS was. I bought the CD & Amazon MP3 versions that suffered from clipping and distortion before finding the iTunes version. It still cracks and pops in a few spots but sounds better. Counting on Apple to get it right twice in a row, especially since Rick Rubin was behind a special "itunes master" of the latest Chili Peppers album.
  8. I wish there was some background info on why certain performances were chosen, but I guess this is cool for what it is and if you are not the psycho "must collect them all" type like most of us are :-p
  9. Sucks that the crowd wasn't crazy, but Rock in Rio's crowd on the TV/webcast version will hold me over for a long time. Such amazing energy from the band and the people at that show.
  10. Can we pay someone else to mix them? I want louder crowds & guitars and no fixes. Maybe they're doing as they're told, though. LP are forward thinking, so they could always post the multi-tracks online and let us mix our own show. That'd be LP geek heaven :-p Glad to see the Admin smack down the beggers. I try to collect every show & buy the best ones along the way, too. Ridiculous to see so many asking "USUAL PLACE" instead of just checking the "usual place" that ALL the DSP's are ALWAYS posted at.
  11. Everyone complains about the guitar levels/mixing but my #1 DSP request would be to raise the crowd volume on the releases. One of the most unique aspects of a LP show is the entire crowd singing every word to almost every song, and the webcast/TV rip demonstrated that perfectly. I love it when the people are almost drowning Chester out on songs like "Numb". Anyways, Rock in Rio (Lisbon) sounds good so far. Happy to have lots of new live shows to listen to this Summer!
  12. Maybe not the best overall, but definitely my favorite. I'm not the biggest 311 fan in the world but always take my vacation based on when they are coming to New England. A lot of hits & staples but some cool surprises every time. I hope Maine gets a showing of the LP concert, too, even though there were about 4 people there for the MTM showing a few years back. Same turnout for the RHCP show last year too. Maine blows at times lol
  13. Um, YES! The Red Hot Chili Peppers did that for their latest album and it was great, especially since their setlists have LP-syndrome and suffer from repetition and/or hits. Maybe LP will surprise us? Excited to see it either way
  14. Finally downloaded the TV rip and yeah, it's definitely better all around!
  15. Does the TV rip audio sound better than the webcast? Everything on YouTube has the same weak mixing that plagued the webcast IMO
  16. Webster Hall was boring for me, but after seeing Rock in Rio I'm looking forward to this!
  17. Finally watched the entire show and loved it! One of the best LP shows I have seen in a long time, & hopefully some more new tracks will be ready for the summer tour. I wish they would drop some of the old songs we've seen a billion times, but after not seeing LP for awhile everything seemed fresh regardless.
  18. I just took a quick break from work and heard about 30 seconds of the "Papercut" chorus....holy shit, the crowd seemed loud! Can't wait to download this tonight! Side note, if anyone wants the Limp Bizkit set, it was ripped & ready for download @ bizkitlive.co.cc
  19. I'm not watching, but it's pretty clear I need to track down this APFMH performance later on. Keep the feedback coming guys!
  20. I hope the sound is better for LP. I watched Limp Bizkit's set earlier and the audio had a hollow, echo sound. Whatever. Can't wait for the rip!
  21. Only had a chance to listen to the track once, but I like it! I could live without all the LPA boasting (where's the LPL love?!) but props to them for releasing the song for download, too.
  22. So bummed that "She Couldn't" is not included in better quality but thanks for sharing
  23. exactly!
  24. Still have yet to pre-order myself but for those complaining about the high price on LP.com, it's not that bad. Sure, it's a few dollars more, but either way you get the digital download on release date AND at least 8 remixes. Only downside to me is not knowing what the remixes will sound like or who will be featured on them. "Reanimation" was great but I have not enjoyed any remix that I've heard since then, which gives me little faith for this time around.
  25. I feel the same way, and am one of those fans that wants to own physical copies of everything. Having said that, I think the "Making of"/LPTV footage for "A Thousand Suns" was way better than the deluxe DVD, and assume the same can be said of "Living Things" based on the first couple of videos. I'll be happy to make my own DVD if they keep posting great studio videos in HD
