  1. At least one copy of HT was for sale at 11 different Bull Moose Music stores in Maine & New Hampshire, and the location closest to me still had 3 copies in stock this morning. There's another prominent Record Store 'chain' (Newbury Comics) in my region that also had multiple copies. I'm guessing that since the record was so easy to find in Maine, the number of pressings is off. I know that when 311 released "Soundsystem" on vinyl, for example, they promoted it as "only 2,000 copies pressed" but the real number was 3 times that. Anyways, end of rant. I'm picking up my copy on Friday, and will let you guys know when the local store puts copies on sale on their website. They have it priced at $26 and free shipping in the US
  2. So I got my copy of LT+ in the mail today and it's not shrinkwrapped in plastic. Doesn't look used or anything but did anyone else experience this?
  3. Well, I know my copy is guaranteed, regardless of RSD Policies. Reserved mine with the store/guy that created "Record Store Day" so I'm feeling confident. Worked out last year on RSD & the Black Friday RSD.
  4. Thanks for the info, wiiesel! Just ordered a copy from Amazon Germany, too. Or at least I think I did. :-p
  5. Anxious to pick this up now that it's been released. Any insight on the best way to get it here in the States? I grabbed ATS+ from eBay when it came out, and planned on doing the same this time around.
  6. It's listed on the official Record Store Day page @ http://www.recordstoreday.com/CustomPage/620 "Vinyl Reissued on vinyl for the first time in over a decade. Cut for vinyl exclusively for this release at Bernie Grundman Mastering. Includes exclusive 10” EP featuring the bonus tracks “One Step Closer” and “My December,” Featuring exclusive poster. Limited to 3,000 domestic"
  7. I found a CD/DVD version of LIVING THINGS on eBay that comes with a DVD of the Rock in Rio performance. It looks legit, and if it is, I'd definitely prefer they release this as LT+. Not to get off topic but does anyone have any info on the Rock in Rio version of LT? Here's the link to the auction, which has artwork promoting the Rio DVD and a bonus track (What I've Done) http://www.ebay.com/itm/LINKIN-PARK-LIVING...=item4ac22d6dbf
  8. For the people frustrated looking for pre-orders, I wouldn't worry. Like others have said, there's often more availability than just "Limited to 3000" or whatever number the labels throw out. Also, a release like "Hybrid Theory" is likely to have a worldwide buy-it-anywhere-you-want release date a couple months after the RSD exclusive period ends. Either way, I've found RSD releases after the date on Record Store websites. My local store still lists some from last year, for instance. When the date draws closer I'm sure it'll be easier to track down a copy without paying ridiculous eBay prices. From the official Record Store Website: "What: The arresting debut album that came to be known by fans and critics alike as one of The Premiere Albums of The Decade! Originally released on October 24, 2000, the album has sold over 10 million copies in the United States alone, where it has since been certified Diamond. Around the world, the album would also garner Multiple Platinum status in over a dozen countries. Hybrid Theory still stands as a contemporary classic in the world of modern rock and alternative music. The bonus 10" EP contains the tracks "One Step Closer" and "My December". This pressing will also contain long out of print poster and original street team sticker re-productions.Here it is reissued on vinyl for the first time in over a decade and cut by Bernie Grundman Mastering to insure the highest possible audio standard. With: Vinyl Reissued on vinyl for the first time in over a decade. Cut for vinyl exclusively for this release at Bernie Grundman Mastering. Includes exclusive 10" EP featuring the bonus tracks "One Step Closer" and "My December," Featuring exclusive poster. Limited to 3,000 domestic". LINK: http://www.recordstoreday.com/CustomPage/620 I e-mailed my local record store and they are holding a copy for me on 4/20. Also, they will be selling any remaining inventory after Record Store Day on their website at BullMoose.com if that helps anyone out.
  9. eBay, though they will probably be marked up to make a huge profit. You can always ask around here when the date gets closer. Random side note: Record Store Day was started by a local record store, Bull Moose Music. Great place! bullmoose.com
  10. According to a release by Warner yesterday, HT is still on track to be a RSD release with the OSC single too: "Linkin Park — Hybrid Theory (1xLP, 10″ EP, poster and sticker, limited to 3,000) Bonus 10″ EP which contains tracks “One Step Closer” and “My December.” LP reissued on vinyl for the first time in a decade." http://modern-vinyl.com/2013/03/01/warner-...s-rsd-releases/
  11. Glad that holding off on a physical CD purchase will result in a bonus live DVD. I'm finally starting to learn LP's marketing strategy! Surprised they chose this show, but it'll do.
  12. Just pretend they're releasing MTM on colored vinyl and maybe that'll help? I hope this is a sign that LP/Warner plan on releasing everything on affordable and/or special edition wax.
  13. Can't wait to own this! I have ATS & LT on wax. This will make a good addition to the collection, especially being colored vinyl. I hope it turns out to be 180gram, too, since the record is so short. LT looks cool on white but I wish it wasn't so flimsy.
  14. I purchased the "Mastered for iTunes" edition of ATS, just to see if they changed the mastering from the original iTunes release. I've ranted and raved here before over the iTunes version of ATS, since I have found it to be my personal favorite edition, due to it containing less clipping and distortion than other releases (CD rip, AmazonMP3, HDTracks Flac). From comparing the waveforms of the original iTunes version of "Burning in the Skies" to the new "Mastered for ITunes" version, the new version is just like all of the others: blown out and full of clips. In my mind, I hear "Mastered for iTunes" and think "mastered to sound best with headphones", since most users would ideally be listening via iPods or iPhones. Listening with headphones allows you to pick up on things that might get lost when playing music in the car, at home, etc, so I'm surprised they would make the mastering WORSE when something is "Mastered for iTunes". End of rant, and glad I have the original iTunes release of ATS. Will the loudness war end already?!
  15. For the sake of Astat's ever increasing blood pressure and/or sanity, we should just call these "demos" (ATL, NRL, SOTD) "alternate versions" or "alternate mix". Yeah? I downloaded "Blackbirds" to replace the 8-Bit Rebellion rip I had, and love the quality.
  16. I'm not surprised about there being alternate mixes or instrumentation during the songs. I recently purchased the new vinyl release of "Californication" by the Red Hot Chili Peppers and the same thing happened on that album. Wonder if it was a mistake, intentional, or just something that happens with Warner artists lol?
  17. Interesting to note that the iTunes edition of the "Studio Collection" includes bonus tracks (we've heard them all) and is newly "Mastered For Itunes." I've done some research on the whole "Mastered For Itunes" concept, and although the audiophiles call it a BS term, I've found that LP's last two albums sound better on iTunes than CD, Amazon, etc. There is more compression than a lossless CD rip, but less clipping and distortion since the waveforms are not as blown out as other digital editions.
  18. 1. With You 2. Figure.09 3. In Pieces 4. Burning in the Skies 5. In My Remains
  19. Wow...that would be amazing! I've always loved that song, and was at the show in Worcester where they recorded the live version that most of us have heard. A piano version could be incredible.
  20. I bet LP will add more shows in the USA for 2013. I don't think a full-fledged US tour will happen, but definitely would expect them to pop-up on a festival or a special radio show. I'd like the chance to see LP in the states, but so long as they're playing SOMEWHERE in the world in 2013, I'm cool with it. The more shows they play between now and the next album, the more chances we have to hear more tracks from LIVING THINGS live, IMO. If LP go back in the studio and record something new, it just means 3 or 4 more songs to add to the setlist of hits, reducing the chances of hearing something like "Skin to Bone" live.
  21. I haven't heard every DSP yet but Bristow, Lisboa & Cape Town are my top 3. Bristow was cool, being the first show of the US tour. Lisboa holds a special place after hearing how great the crowd is, especially on the TV version, and Cape Town is great for similar reasons. I really need to see LP outside of the states. The international fans know how to party
  22. Cape Town sounds great, even with the usual "what the fuck was that?!" reaction my ears have to the sudden "bursts" of crowd noise in certain parts. Excellent DSP! On a side note, it would be cool to have a poll on the site voting on the Best DSP of 2012. People could "write in" their favorite and the Top 5 could be voted on? It's slow at work, bear with me & my boredom-inspired ideas :-p
  23. I checked out the webcast just to see "Castle of Glass", and after streaming flawlessly up to that point, it literally said "buffering" until the last 30 seconds of the song. Played perfect since then too. Just my luck. Hope someone is ripping the video
  24. Me too. It sucks being a hardcore fan when it comes to setlists. They should just call them "Hitlists." Obviously LP's shows are tailored to the casual fan that they hope to convert to a regular, paying customer. I wish LP would do a 50/50 mix of singles and fan favorites, but they seem pretty stuck in their ways. Being able to download & listen to every show doesn't help the burn-out factor, either. I'd probably like "Numb" alot more if I had not heard it 500 times on my iPod while listening to new shows over the years.
  25. It's not the best setlist LP have ever played but at this point I'm most interested in hearing the newer songs live, so in that sense it was a good show. Lost in the Echo, Castle, Burn It Down, Lies & a verse from UIB are good enough for me. Anxious to see the webcast tomorrow!
