Song selection on OML Live is fine IMO. Only complaint is I wouldn't have minded having COG or WFTE in there, but otherwise I think it's a pretty solid tracklist. Every OML song the band did, the new versions of Crawling and LOATR, and then the big singles.

The demo verse was done 4 times off the top of my head. New York, Hong Kong, Vienna, and Silver Spring as part of Lift Off.

Well, this is the end of the European leg of the tour, guys. Luxembourg City, it's your turn.

Last night in Ludwigsburg wasn't without its surprises. New additions to the set like 'Nobody Can Save Me' and 'Prove You Wrong' continue to impress, while Post Traumatic cuts like 'Hold It Together' and 'World's On Fire' showcase Mike's increased confidence on stage (seriously Mike, keep these tracks around for the Linkin Park comeback). The real surprise came during the 'Lift Off' jam, with the first verse of 'Nobody's Listening' coming back for the first time since the Minutes To Midnight tour in 2007. Mike is definitely pulling out some deep cuts as the tour winds down, between 'Dedicated' and 'Nobody's Listening'. Anything seems to be on the table.

Much like Ludwigsburg, Mike hasn't ever actually been to Luxembourg City, so let's just talk about some highlights from this leg of the tour instead. One of the most surprising nights of the tour was in London, where Mike not only debuted 'Nobody Can Save Me', which has since become a staple of the set, but also a stripped down version of 'Battle Symphony' (which I would love to see come back) and an incredibly emotional performance of 'One More Light', featuring their respective album collaborators, Jon Green and Eg White. 'Lift Off' also came back in full force from its debut in Silver Spring, with Mike using it as a sort of hip hop medley. It's featured parts of 'Step Up', 'High Voltage', 'Hands Held High', and 'Nobody's Listening' in its short lifespan on this leg of the tour. Could we see a different verse tonight? The 'Sorry For Now' demo verse was used when it made its live debut in Silver Spring, and its been a minute since we've seen that verse...

The last (headlining) night of a tour has always proved to be fun. Singapore saw the debuts of fan favorites 'High Road' (which has become quite the rarity) and 'Hold It Together'. Vienna had the infamous "Vienna four" with 'In Stereo', 'Cigarettes', 'Until It Breaks', AND 'It's Goin' Down' all making their debuts. What a wild show that was. Not to be outdone, Silver Spring had the live debut of 'Lift Off', which only just reappeared. We could see any number of things tonight. 'Can't Hear You Now' has been teased a few times, even getting rapped a capella on stage. Could we finally see it get its debut? Not to mention 'Place To Start', 'Invisible', and 'Sharp Edges', the only songs played in the US not played on this leg yet. And how about the remaining Post Traumatic songs? 'Brooding' might be pretty unlikely, but I know we'd love to see 'Nothing Makes Sense Anymore' and 'Promises I Can't Keep'.

Who's going to the show? Mark (Hahninator) is finishing his run in Europe with this show before coming back home, so say hey if you see him! After this, Mike finished off the Post Traumatic tour with two nights in Tel Aviv.

Last night's show in Amsterdam was definitely a fun one! Starting off with a solid run that showcased Mike's hip hop strengths with tracks like 'Petrified', 'Watching As I Fall', and 'It's Goin' Down' (which featured a completely new chorus!) setting the tone for the rest of the night. The 'Lift Off' jam reached peak capacity, going over seven minutes as Mike included parts of 'High Voltage', 'Step Up', 'Hands Held High' and gave Dan a drum solo. The encore was just as wild, though, with 'Nobody Can Save Me' followed by the tour debut of 'Cigarettes', and Mike even gave us a little shoutout! What a guy.

Mike's never actually been to Ludwigsburg before this show, so let's just take a quick little look at his German stops over this past month (lord knows there's no shortage of them). Starting off in Berlin with a fan coming up on stage to play piano on 'In The End' and the wonderful Jennifer Weist coming on stage for a surprise 'A Place For My Head', Mike started his run of shows in Germany with a bang. The next show in Bremen got one of only two performances (so far) of 'Until It Breaks' on this leg of the tour and, more surprisingly, the live debut of the bonus track 'Prove You Wrong', which has quickly become a staple of the set. The surprises continued in Hannover with Don Broco once again joining Mike for 'A Place For My Head' to close the show and the first verse of 'Hands Held High' making an appearance during the bridge of 'Sorry For Now'. Oberhausen is where things got really wild, though, with FOUR tour debuts: the piano version of 'Numb', the iconic duo 'Robot Boy' and 'World's On Fire', AND 'High Road' all finally made their way to stage. We also got the first verse and chorus of 'High Voltage' during the bridge of 'Sorry For Now'. Things toned down a bit in Hamburg, but we still got a new addition to the set with the piano version of 'Burn It Down' returning, featuring guest vocals from Yvonne Catterfeld. Mike took a bit of a break from Germany, but came back strong in Munchen with the tour debut of 'Lift Off', which has only been played once before and featured the demo verse of 'Lift Off', the chorus of 'Step Up' and the first verse of 'High Voltage'. Hopefully Mike keeps up with the last few shows in Germany tonight!

As last night proved, the tour ending does not mean there's no chance for new songs to be added. Mike said it himself, he's trying to mess with us and that spreadsheet we retweeted a little bit ago, and there's quite a few ways for him to do that. There's still 3 songs from the US tour he hasn't played on this leg: 'Place To Start', 'Invisible', and 'Sharp Edges'. Could we see any of those come back in these last few shows?

Mike's been getting pretty wild with the set, a little more than usual. The last show in Prague featured a pretty interesting encore opener of 'Robot Boy' and 'Castle Of Glass', the first time 'Robot Boy' has been played without 'World's On Fire' after it, as well as the new "Lift Off jam" as Mike likes to call it, this time featuring the demo verse of 'Lift Off', the first verse and chorus of 'High Voltage', and the first verse of 'Hands Held High'. Not to mention new standout tracks like 'Nobody Can Save Me' and 'Prove You Wrong' in the set, Mike shows no sign of slowing down as the tour winds down!

Amsterdam hasn't had to go too long without Mike showing up. Most recently, Linkin Park played there during the One More Light European Tour, which featured a rare 'Sharp Edges' performance as well as 'From The Inside' in the new "heavy rotation" slot. Before that, Mike and Chester did a stripped down performance with a fairly off the cuff piano rendition of 'What I've Done' and the now iconic piano version of 'Crawling'.

As the tour comes to a close, there's still a shot at some rarer stuff getting tossed in. The final shows of the tour usually have some nice surprises, so we may just get the full version of 'Can't Hear You Now' (which Mike has only done a verse of a capella), or maybe some of the rarer tracks from prior tours that we haven't seen yet on this leg. 'Cigarettes' anyone?

Mike Shinoda is continuing through Europe on the final leg of the Post Traumatic Tour, stopping today in Zurich, Switzerland for a show at Halle 622.

Mike has played in Zurich a handful of times before this. The first was in 2007, on Linkin Park's Minutes To Midnight European Tour, featuring fresh cuts from the new album including 'What I've Done' and 'Given Up.' This show had the famous extended bridge to 'Bleed It Out' where Mike and Chester split the crowd and had each side chant "Fuck yo side!" The band returned in 2009 while promoting 'New Divide' on their International Tour that year, before returning in 2010 on the first leg of the A Thousand Suns World Tour. Mike's last performance in Zurich was in 2014, where a show there opened The Hunting Party European Tour.

The tour just got wild. The last show in Padova was packed full of surprises that no one expected. The show opened in a big way with 'Welcome' and 'Hold It Together' kicking things off, with more hip-hop tracks like 'Remember The Name' and 'When They Come For Me' following. The first surprise of the night: 'Nobody Can Save Me' returning for the first time since London, officially putting it in rotation. The extended bridge of 'Sorry For Now' featured both the first verse and chorus of 'Dedicated' (making it the first time since 2009 in Macao that the song was performed during a set) as well as a verse of 'Lift Off.' Mike briefly rapped the first verse of 'Can't Hear You Now' acapella style, making it the song's live debut. In response to the crisis going on in New Zealand, Mike performed verse two of 'Hands Held High' before 'In The End.' The encore opened with a triple tour debut: a brief piano version of 'The Catalyst' was performed for the very first time, while 'Wisdom, Justice, and Love' and 'Iridescent' were both performed for the first time since the Outbreak Tour. Quite an action packed show indeed - and a surprising one at that. Anything could be coming, Switzerland.

The fun didn't stop there as Mike rapped the first verse and chorus of 'High Voltage' over the bridge of 'Sorry For Now' and we saw FOUR tour debuts: the piano version of 'Numb', the fantastic duo of 'Robot Boy' and 'World's On Fire', and the ever elusive 'High Road' which was the second time that song had been performed in 35 shows. Don Broco also joined Mike to close out the show with 'A Place For My Head'.

Mike is no stranger to Hamburg, and it hasn't been too long since he's been there. The promo tour for One More Light took him and Chester there for two of the stripped down performances where the two of them would play piano versions of new songs like 'Heavy' and 'Battle Symphony' alongside classics like 'Crawling'. Prior to that, Linkin Park had played in Hamburg in 2014, twice during the A Thousands Suns tour (the latter of which was the site of the 4th LPU summit where the iconic cover of Adele's 'Rolling In The Deep' made its debut), 2007, 2003, and 3(!) times in 2001 (the first of which was also the band's first show in Germany). Mike also took the Fort Minor tour to the city in 2005.

We still have yet to really nail down what Mike is gonna play on any given night, but what we do know is that he's gonna be joined by Yvonne Catterfield tonight for a song. Don Broco is also opening for Mike again, so we could see another performance of 'A Place For My Head'. My biggest issue with Primo is that there's no way it would work on Living Things (sonically it fits better on ATS, but not so much thematically). It'd be such a jarring sonic and tonal shift. That's not to say IBG is better than Primo (they're both doing very different things and do their own respective things very well), but as far as putting together an album, IBG is a better choice than Primo

I don't see how anyone can say OML isn't a pop album. Pop is a pretty wide spectrum and it isn't an inherently negative term. I could see an argument for calling ATS and LT rock to an extent (not traditional rock, but some sub genre or something), but OML is 100% a pop album.

If Mike's solo tour has proved one thing, it's that the band really doesn't need a new vocalist to take Chester's place. Mike is a more than capable frontman and he's clearly shown he is able to handle enough LP songs to fill out a setlist, and that's including the usual "safe" singles like ITE, Heavy etc. Yeah, OSC is probably gonna be retired, but the band had been steadily reducing the importance of OSC in the set since 2014 (them moving it from basically always closing or opening to just a mid-set song, to me, was them saying it's not a cornerstone of the set anymore). And what other songs had they been performing regularly would really be at risk outside of that one song?

Mike has said quite a few times that Post Traumatic was his journey out of the darkness, so putting a huge focus on his immediate grief surrounding Chester would sort of conflict with that. The first few songs on the album are about that grief (namely the EP songs and NMSA), but most of the album was meant to be him trying to find ways to move forward and make something out of a tragedy.

People weren’t saying he didn’t grieve publicly enough. It was what he was grieving for that was the question.

Yeah and anyone who thought he was grieving for anything other than his friend is so out of touch it's astounding

The run of holiday shows continue tonight in San Jose, California with ALT 103.5's Not So Silent Night.

Mike tends to play it pretty safe with festival shows, but he still makes sure to bring the energy. Despite a few hiccups, he gave his all at the festival show in Brooklyn the other day, with staples like 'Running From My Shadow' and the medley of 'About You', 'Over Again', 'Papercut' continuing to explode on the stage.

Check out Mike, Matt, and Dan performing the always fun 'About You', 'Over Again', and 'Papercut'. The live instruments on 'About You' really give that song a new life!

It's been a minute since Mike has been to San Jose. Linkin Park was scheduled to play the city in 2017 on the One More Light North American Tour, but that was canceled for understandable reasons. Prior to that, Mike hadn't been there since 2011 on the A Thousand Suns North American Tour which featured an intense encore starting with a run of 'Empty Spaces', 'When They Come For Me', and 'Papercut', as well as a surprise singalong version of 'Iridescent' and an impromptu rendition of 'The Messenger' due to Mike's keyboard breaking after the Oppenheimer outro of 'Numb'. Before that, the band hadn't played San Jose since 2004 during the Meteora cycle. We unfortunately still don't have the setlist for that show, so if you have any info on it, feel free to send it our way! Linkin Park made two stops in the city back in 2001 as well, the latter of which was a festival show (not unlike tonight) and had the rather rare 'My December' and 'Step Up' and the even rarer cover of 'Sweet Child O' Mine'.

Mike is performing pretty early tonight on a stacked lineup and is slotted for around 30 minutes, much like Brooklyn, so we probably shouldn't be expecting any surprises. What we wouldn't be too surprised to see, though, is a different intro song and a slightly reordered set. 'Remember The Name' opened Brooklyn, so could we see one of the other Fort Minor singles ('Petrified' or 'Welcome') opening tonight?

Is anyone going tonight? After this, Mike is doing one last stop at KROQ Almost Acoustic Christmas (where he and Linkin Park have quite a long history) before taking a much deserved break for the holidays. He'll pick back up next year in Europe, though!

Hold It Together, IOU, and World's On Fire

4 years ago, Mike disses CHVRCHES. Now, he is opening for them. What a turn of events.

1. He isn't opening for them? He plays after them.

2. He didn't even really diss them. He said that wasn't the kind of music he wanted to make with THP and that he felt there was too much of that style of music on rock stations. Hell, Mike has said multiple times that he likes them!

Why would you bump this topic, especially since the question it was posing was answered 8 years ago, effectively ending the discussion?

Wow really? God I really love MGK’s verse a lot. It’s by far one of my favorite moments of the entire album. blackbear’s feature I will admit is pretty weak but MGK’s... it’s fire to me. The only parts of Post Traumatic that I don’t really care for are K.Flay’s feature and Hold It Together. Both are a little too poppy for my liking and I feel like the K.Flay song fits way better with One More Light (which it actually was a Linkin Park song). Hold It Together is just really corny to me, everything about it, the beat and the chorus especially. I can’t knock the lyrics too much because I know they mean a lot to Mike but that song is just super cheesy to me.

I can get behind the K. Flay comments. The features on the album don't really do much for me barring grandson's part on RFMS (though I don't mind Chino). K. Flay has bothered me less as I've had more time with the song/album, but I definitely would have preferred just having Mike do the hook or at the very least have the two sing together, which I think is actually my issue with MGK and Blackbear too. They took away a spot that Mike could have done and, in my opinion, probably could've done better.

HIT, though, is where we're just gonna have to agree to disagree. That's one of my favorite songs on the album.

MGK's verse is the second worst moment on the album IMO (Blackbear's feature still takes that spot)
