  2. Well, this is it guys. Mike closes out the Outbreak Tour tonight in Silver Spring, Maryland, and we could be in for a wild ride!

Last night's show in Detroit, Michigan was truly a special one. From the incredibly rare 'Remember The Name' opener to the still surprising new closer in 'A Place For My Head' featuring tour opener Don Broco, Mike is not letting this tour go quietly into the night! He also made sure to incorporate rarities like 'Until It Breaks' and 'It's Goin' Down' into the set, gave 'Roads Untraveled' a short piano intro for the first time, and he even gave his usual 'In The End' speech to 'Heavy', where he talked about the initial reception the song got as a single, comparing it to the reactions the band got when they released other singles like 'In The End', 'Leave Out All The Rest', and 'Guilty All The Same' (which even Mike commented made absolutely no sense to him). It was truly a great addition to an incredibly unpredictable tour.

Check out Mike opening the show with a run of 'Remember The Name' (which has only opened one other show on the tour so far) and 'When They Come For Me'

Since Mike has never actually played a show in Silver Spring before (nice to see him visiting new places on this tour), let's talk for a minute about his history in Maryland. Linkin Park has a brief, but fun, history in the state. The band first played in Maryland in 2000 on Kottonmouth Kings's Ridin' High Tour and later hit Baltimore that same year. Unfortunately, we don't have the sets for either of these shows, so if you have any info, feel free to let us know! The Meteora era saw the band's return to the state on Metallica's Summer Sanitarium Tour, which featured fan favorite tracks like 'Figure.09' and 'P5hng Me A*wy' (which we would love to see make its return at some point!) and the always welcome '1stp Klosr' bridge on 'One Step Closer'. Linkin Park's last stop in Maryland was on the Minutes To Midnight North American Tour in 2008, which had an insane 'No More Sorrow' opener, a relatively rare 'Valentine's Day' (another song we wouldn't mind see making its comeback), and a beautiful first encore of the piano version of 'My December' and 'What I've Done' with its "AMBO Intro".

Watch Linkin Park take Baltimore by storm with the incredibly epic 'No More Sorrow' intro in 2008. It's a shame this song got dropped after the A Thousand Suns tour and never returned to the set.

You'd think that coming up on the 25th show of the tour, we'd know what to expect, but we still can't seem to predict what Mike is gonna do! After the tour debuts of 'Invisible' and 'High Road' (which has still only been played once all tour) in Denver, the one-off performance of 'Place To Start' (which hadn't been played since Chengdu back in August) in San Francisco, and the complete surprise of 'A Place For My Head' with Don Broco in Boston all coming on the last few shows of the tour, Mike shows no sign of slowing down despite the tour coming to a close. That's not even considering the rare songs in rotation like 'Watching As I Fall' (only played 3 times this tour), 'Cigarettes', and 'Kenji'. We could really see anything tonight, especially given the trend of the final headlining show of a tour having quite a few surprises! Singapore at the end of the Asia leg of the tour had the debuts of 'High Road' and 'Hold It Together' and his show in Vienna had what our team has dubbed the "Vienna Four", which consists of 'In Stereo' (the first time it had been played since the Fort Minor comeback tour in 2015), the 2015 remix of 'Cigarettes' (which had been played once before on the tour in an acapella form, but not in full since 2015), 'Until It Breaks' (which had only been done once on Mike's solo tour), and 'It's Goin' Down' (which had only been done over the intro to 'Kenji' prior on Mike's solo tour). If he keeps up the trend, this show could be absolutely insane!

There's still two songs Mike has expressed interest in doing that he hasn't played yet: 'Can't Hear You Now' and 'Waiting For Tomorrow'. Could we see either of those tonight? There's also several Post Traumatic songs that Mike hasn't brought to the stage in full yet, the most interesting of which is 'Lift Off' which has been soundchecked on the tour with lyrics from older songs mashed up with it. Mike could bring this out tonight as well! That's not to mention songs on the playlist Mike posted back before the tour started, which had a few songs that Mike has yet to play like 'Burning In The Skies' and 'Believe Me' (the latter of which we thought for sure would have been played by now). Anything is on the table for tonight!

Who's going to the show? After this, Mike is taking a bit of a break before heading back out for some holiday radio shows in New York (where both Hahninator (Mark) and Rogue Soul (Dylan) will get to see Mike again) and in California.

We'll keep you updated on everything that happens at this show and on the rest of the tour, so be sure to follow us on Twitter and Facebook for updates, and feel free to join the LPL Discord Server, where you can talk to fans from all around the world. 3.

Yeah, probably where I remembered it from. It's interesting how the band worked. Take for instance THP, where the album originally was softer, pop driven songs, which transformed into heavy rock and metal music. Then you have MTM and ATS, which both started off heavy, but became softer, experimental albums, especially ATS. MTM still had a few heavy songs. But it's really cool. LT and OML might have stayed the same style for all we know. I wonder what the first song that made the album was for those. I think Good Goodbye and One More Light (the song) were actually from 2015.

Well, Invisible and NCSM were started by March of 2016, and the band met with Jon Green starting in November of 2015 and Mike met with Justin Parker in September (don't know if anything was written though), so I wouldn't be surprised if NCSM and Invisible (maybe BS too) were the earliest songs from OML.

  4. Question for any die-hard ATS fans out there...

Out of the 15 tracks that made the album, does anyone know which one was conceived the earliest? I keep thinking that Robot Boy was from early to mid 2009, but I could be wrong. We know for example, Valentine's Day was the earliest song on MTM, and Mark The Graves was the earliest song on THP. It's interesting to me. Judging by LPTV and stuff, it seems like a lot of the songs were primarily created and worked on throughout 2010, since the album didn't come out until the last quarter of 2010.

It could even be a case in which nothing from 2009 made the album. A lot of the 2009 demos and 2008 demos have a heavier sound, and New Divide was pretty heavy compared to the album, too, and the band put that out in mid 2009 and toured until September for it.

I want to say that Robot Boy was mentioned on Mike's blog in 2009 in some way, but as far as I know the blog isn't available anymore. The ATS demos started changing from the heavier demos to closer to what the album would sound like around October of 2009, so Robot Boy probably came from around that time if I'm remembering correctly.

  5. Mike seems to be preparing a live video for his latest single 'Make It Up As I Go', and he wants your footage for it! At his show in LA on November 2nd (that's tonight, by the way), make sure to film the song (Mike specifically requests horizontal video) while it's being performed and upload it here if you want your footage in the video.

This wouldn't be the first time the Linkin Park camp has done something like this. Back in 2011, the band took footage from the Chicago and St. Paul dates on the North American tour for a live video for 'Waiting For The End'. They later did the same concept when the band played Milan in 2014 for 'Until It's Gone'.

Anyone here attending and planning on participating? Make sure to follow us on Twitter and Facebook for the latest updates (including when the video comes out), and join the LPLive Discord for discussion with fans around the world!

  6. Long sleeve tee for 40$? Unfortunate end of a great fanclub. Well I guess the only way we can get new/unreleased music is through Best Offs with few b-sides realeased by Warners. I hope DBS Time Capsule will be realeased soon.

Or, you know, when the band is active again in a year or so and they're ready to start releasing music, including through the LPU, again?

  7. I mean, yeah the song is slow, but it's a different kind of slow than, say, In Between or the Ballad Medley which just plodded along and really fucked the pacing of the show. TLTGYA is a damn masterpiece and it culminating in Brad's solo and those harmonies is magical. I really wish I got to see it live.

  8. For the third show in three days, Mike is taking the Post Traumatic Tour to Atlanta!

Last night's show in Orlando was truly a blast, with on-again, off-again tracks like 'Hold It Together' and 'In Stereo' keeping things fresh. Mike also made sure to continue switching up the set order, playing 'Welcome' mid-set for the first time ever and moving 'Castle Of Glass' way later in the set, being the second-to-last song in the main set! The 'About You', 'Over Again', and 'Papercut' run opened the encore for the second time and the rather rare 'It's Goin' Down' helped to close things out. The most wholesome moment of the night, though, came when Mike asked a little girl with a "Make Chester Proud" sign which piano song she wanted to hear. She said 'Numb', and Mike complied.

Check out a short clip of Mike playing Numb last night at the request of a little girl in the crowd!

Mike hasn't been to Atlanta in a little bit, but he's got a pretty long history in the city. He last stopped by during the A Thousand Suns Tour, which had an incredible set with Papercut opening for the first time since 2003 and fan favorites like 'Wretches And Kings' and 'No More Sorrow', as well as the beloved extended version of 'Bleed It Out' with 'Burning In The Skies' and 'A Place For My Head'. Linkin Park has been playing in the city since the Hybrid Theory days, though, playing the 99X's Big Day Out festival, a rather mysterious show with (hed) p.e headlining, and they played a show there during Ozzfest in 2001, where Chester actually remarked that Atlanta was one of his favorite cities to play. That love certainly showed in the following years, as the band played Atlanta three more times during the Meteora cycle, taking the stage in the city on the Summer Sanitarium Tour, where they played the fan favorite 'P5hng Me A*wy', and twice in 2004, the latter of which had the incredible transition between 'Figure.09' and 'From The Inside' and the famous cover of Nine Inch Nails's 'Wish'. The band also performed in Atlanta a few times during the Minutes To Midnight era, playing the city on both Projekt Revolution tours they did in the US. The 2007 stop had incredible renditions of Minutes To Midnight deepcuts like 'The Little Things Give You Away' (which may have a shot at seeing the light of day again soon seeing as Mike is playing New Orleans in just a few days) and 'In Pieces' as well as the always fun 'Points Of Authority' intro, where he rapped 'Bloc Party'. The following year had the fan favorite rendition of 'Crawling' where Mike rapped the first verse of 'Hands Held High' over the 'Krwlng' instrumental. Plus, the band brought out the incredible Chris Cornell to help out on the song!

Mike didn't forget to visit the city outside of Linkin Park, though. He made sure to bring the Fort Minor tour to Atlanta, where he played tracks like 'Red To Black' and 'There They Go' which haven't been seen in a minute. Could we see either of them appear at some point on the tour?

Watch two of the greatest vocalists of all time collaborate to deliver a truly memorable performance of Crawling.

We still don't know what to expect from these shows. Mike is constantly switching it up on us, so almost anything is on the table. He seems to be rotating in rarer songs that he's performed throughout the tour, at soundchecks or during the actual performance, but he could easily bust out songs that we never would expect. There are still several songs on the playlist Mike made back before the tour started that have yet to be played like 'Invisible' and 'Burning In The Skies'. Could we see any of these show up tonight?

Who's gonna be there tonight? Mark (Hahninator) is gonna continue his run of shows, so be sure to say hey if you see him. After this, Mike heads to Raleigh and then New Orleans before heading to Texas for a few shows.

  10. The Outbreak Tour continues to go strong as Mike prepares for the tour's second stop in Florida, taking the Post Traumatic Tour to Orlando.

Last night's show in Tampa continued the trend of Mike evolving the setlist. We saw the return of 'Sharp Edges', Mike rapping his verse of 'Lift Off' during the extended bridge of 'Sorry For Now', 'World's On Fire' being played mid-set for the first time and without its usual partner 'Robot Boy', and the Twitter poll trio of 'I.O.U.', 'Until It Breaks', and 'In Stereo', seeing as "All of the above" won (which should surprise approximately no one).

Mike last did the Lift Off verse in New York City. With that seemingly coming back out of nowhere, what other verses do you think he'll do over the bridge?

It's been a minute since Mike's been to Orlando. Linkin Park started their ill fated 2015 North American Tour in the city, which featured the return of fan favorites 'A Place For My Head' and 'From The Inside'. Before that, they hadn't played in the city since the Union Underground Tour and the P.O.D Kings Of The Game Tour in 2000, so it's nice to see Mike give some love to the city on this tour.

As the previous shows have demonstrated, we really don't know what to expect from the show tonight. Mike's been rotating in songs every night, changing the opener, messing with the encore, moving stuff around mid-set. Almost anything is fair game, really. There have been a few songs Mike has pulled out in Asia and Europe that he hasn't yet done in the US, like the much requested 'Cigarettes', which he hasn't done since Wien, Austria.

Check out Linkin Park playing A Place For My Head in Orlando back in 2015. The band was in excellent shape on that tour, so it's a shame it got cut short!

Who's going to the show tonight? Mark (Hahninator) will be there, as well as the next few shows, so if you see him around, be sure to say hi! After this, Mike is heading to Atlanta, Raleigh, and then New Orleans (where a rendition of 'The Little Things Give You Away' would be very fitting considering the meaning of the song).

We'll keep you updated on everything that happens at this show and on the rest of the tour, so be sure to follow us on Twitter and Facebook for updates, and feel free to join the LPL Discord Server, where you can talk to fans from all around the world. 11. Wow, the demo lyrics are vastly superior to this version. I mean, "I promised I would never stop and in your name I would climb them", “The end is unknown but still we rise”, "The fear is creeping up behind all this courage I'm projecting". The changed lyrics are much weaker IMO. Also the second verse being cut feels really weird. Otherwise I do think this version is better. Mike sounds great and the production is A+

    8. Sharp Edges (8/10)

    9. Good Goodbye (6.5/10)

Honestly, album as a whole gets a 9-9.5/10 from me.

Man, this has changed. I cannot believe I ever had GG as not the worst on here

  13. It's been a few years since we first caught wind of the song, but "Waiting For Tomorrow" is finally getting an official studio release on October 19 as part of a five song EP Martin Garrix is releasing called Plus.

    Upq_DlLTOII.jpg

We've heard a few different versions of the song over the years. Garrix debuted a live version back in March of 2016. A month later, an edit of the live version that Pierce Fulton appeared on SoundCloud, which people mistakenly took as a leak of the song. There was even fan made art to accompany the "leak". It was set to be on Garrix's debut studio album that came out that was scheduled for the end of 2016. Then, in September 2016, a lyric video for the track was uploaded to Garrix's old label Spinnin' Talent Pool that was later deleted. Since then, it's been teased on and off by Garrix, claiming back in January and later in June of 2017 that it would be released "soon". However, in October of that year, he said that "...due to the situation with Chester, I don't see it releasing anytime soon."

Well, I guess a year is past what he would consider "anytime soon", because the song is coming this week! You can check out the latest live version of the track here, featuring some different lyrics and a different structure.

  16. I wouldn't have chosen either as the victor. My personal ranking probably would have gone something like this
