  1. http://lplive.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=12436 Just ignore the part that says she's a singer. She's another songwriter/producer. This is also where they first mentioned Eg White, but that's not on the post for some reason.
  2. Most of the collaborators on the album are songwriters/producers who have worked with big names. Very few release music by themselves. Kelli Ali of Sneaker Pimps on Reanimation. Emily Wright on the new album. They have asked Elizabeth Fraser of Cocteau Twins and Björk to work with them in the past, but it didn't work out.
  3. What about the others? And does that happens on all versions of the albums or is it only in a specific store?
  4. I can actually think of a reason for some of those. "Foreword" was recorded after the rest of Meteora was finished, meaning it wasn't part of "Don't Stay". I guess their intention was for it to be the album's intro like "Wake" on Minutes To Midnight. From the early A Thousand Suns interviews, I had the impression that "The Radiance" was originally part of "Burning In The Skies" and "Wisdom, Justice, and Love" was originally part of "Iridescent" (they mentioned BITS and Iridescent when talking about the speeches) but I can see why they would keep the speeches in a different track from the songs. They're cool when you're listening to the full album, but if you want to listen to just "Burning In The Skies" or "Iridescent", it's better to have then without the speeches. Not sure about "Empty Spaces" though. Maybe it was the same case as "Foreword" where it was created after "When They Come For Me" was already done or maybe it was the same case as "The Summoning" ("the calm before the storm"). But "Tinfoil"? They had a full 6 minute demo from the A Thousand Suns sessions that they decided to finish for Living Things then, when the song was done, they decided to split it into 2 tracks, making "Tinfoil" take a spot that could be filled with an actual song.
  5. Tinfoil was the worst. There was no reason to split Powerless into two tracks. Same thing with Consequence on LPU 16 and Pods on LPU 15.
  6. Yes. Complimentary was actually created solely by Mike Shinoda and made available separately on his website after the software was released. It was the session of the song just like the others, so you needed Stagelight to open it. LPU members received a code to download the "Linkin Park Edition" for free.
  7. The Stagelight tracks had stems ("multitracks") available in the software. You needed to open the session and export them (in .wav format). The Loop Jams (just like Asteroids) were created from various Linkin Park samples included in their respective bundles. A few of them are listed here. I guess no one really took the time to figure out all the samples used in each song. Although the song did get radio airplay in various countries following the release of the game, Blackbirds was never released as a single. There was a digital single planned, like Martinez said, but it never happened. It was included in the iTunes version of A Thousand Suns instead (both the original release and the "Mastered For iTunes" version).
  8. That Forbes interview is from June 2015.
  9. Do you also collect CDs, vinyls, cassette tapes, etc.? Because we could really use the help of a collector (or at least someone who has been keeping track of the band's releases) for the "Releases" sections we're planning for the album pages. Since you've been around for so long, I guess you might remember some things we don't know about (about the band in general), which would be really helpful too.
  10. I'd say you don't really need to have a lot of knowledge about the band. Everytime we start a new page we do some research on the subject and that's where the content of the pages comes from. We also have a lot of information already here in the LPLive Forums (in the Lists and Guides) and in the LPLive Wiki and we are still in the process of moving everything to Linkinpedia. Plus, we are constantly gathering new information and we need someone to keep the pages updated.
  11. Apparently this was created to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Hybrid Theory. This explains why it stops in 2010. Mike posted a few pages in his blog: http://mikeshinoda.com/2010/10/25/10th-anniversary-hybrid-theory/

  13. Now that's an interesting item. Looks like all those throwback pictures released in 2013 to promote the Sunset Strip Music Festival show are actually pictures of this book. http://mikeshinodaclan.com/2013/07/linkin-park-throwback-take-over-week-ssmf/ http://www.lpassociation.com/forum/threads/lpa-lpl-msc-and-lpfc-team-up-for-throwback-takeover-week.39247/ http://lplive.net/forum/?showtopic=10020 http://lpfancorner.com/2013/07/28/throwback-content-5-hybrid-theory/ http://musicforrelief.org/wp-content/uploads/2013/10/2011MFRANNUALREPORT.pdf If it's not asking too much, is it possible for you to scan this book and make it available in .pdf format?

  15. Wasn't Program in the Frat Party DVD (2001)? I was reading Mike's commentary on that song again and he said "It makes me realize how far we had come at that point in just being able to produce a song on our own, because this was entirely basically in my home studio computer." So isn't it possible that 2003 is correct? But then he said "It may have been just also a case where we made this song and then I liked that kind of groove of the drums and then I started a new song with that groove."
  16. The problem with Burberry is that it's the same song as Space Station. Nothing was changed, it was just shortened. This isn't the first time the band has shortened (or edited or removed elements of) a demo before releasing it to the LPU (remember LPU 9.0?), but it's the first time they release a shortened version of a song we already had with a different date. It's also a fact that the dates on the LPU demos aren't always accurate (Remember Slip, Blue and So Fay Away?). Also, if you bought the digital version of LPU 16 from the LPU Store you might have noticed a few demos tagged with different dates from what you see in the official tracklist (Bleed It Out, Consequence A, Consequence . I'm not saying the "2011 Demo" tag for those three demos are correct, I'm saying mistakes happen. Another thing that I find odd in this release is that the demos are all from the exact year their respective albums were released. Can’t Hurt Me dates from 2014, all the demos from the A Thousand Suns sessions date from 2010, and Bleed It Out dates from 2007. We first heard about Bleed It Out in 2006 and they already mentioned it having vocals. I think they have no clue about when those demos were actually recorded.
  17. Send an e-mail to lpuhq@lpunderground.com or contact Lorenzo on Twitter: https://twitter.com/lorenzoerr
  18. Is it the same as the Medal Of Honor version (the one in the game, not the one in the trailer)?
  19. 01. Pictureboard (Xero/Hybrid Theory) We all know the story. Xero song re-recorded with Chester and played live only once with him. Originally in the LPU 9.0 CD but had to be removed due to samples used in the song. Mike said it probably won't ever be released, but I'll keep it in my list anyway. 02. Dust Brothers song featuring Linkin Park (2001) Back when the band was looking for a producer for their debut album they met the Dust Brothers with whom they collaborated on "With You". Another demo came from the same sessions and the band announced in 2001 that they were in the process of finishing it for release on a Dust Brothers album. Unfortunately the album (and consequently the song) never came out. I'm not sure if releasing this would be easy for the band though, since the song was meant for another artist's album (but they did release "Standing In The Middle" on LPU 4.0). 03. My December (Remixed by DJ Crook of Team Sleep) (Reanimation) One of the many remixes that didn't it on Reanimation. Probably the most famous. It was created by DJ Crook of Team Sleep, and DJ Shadow is rumored to have contributed with scratches to the remix. When DJ Crook was questioned about the possibility of the remix being released someday he said "probably never", so we can only count with the band to release it. 04. Sick ("Don't Stay" Demo) (Meteora) Mike said the song started with a Spanish/reggae guitar and went through a lot of variations before Brad came up with the one on the album. I would like to hear that original version. 05. "Thoughts That Take Away My Pride" (Meteora) This is probably the most requested song after "Pictureboard" and no one even knows its name. It's that song we've all heard the vocals on the Meteora DVD and seen the lyrics on the Frat Party At The Pankake Festival DVD. Mike did say he completely erased from his computer a lot of demos the band didn't like during the Meteora sessions, but this wasn't the case with this song. We've heard an instrumental portion of it during a 2007 LPTV episode. If they do release it someday, it will be the first Meteora outtake with vocals we get. 06. Machine Shop mixtape song (2005) A lot of conflicting information about this demo over the years. It's a song the band recorded (or tried to record) for the second volume of the Machine Shop Mixtape which never came out. 07. Fire In The City (Minutes To Midnight) The demo from which "Given Up" was originated, just like "Blue" with "Crawling". Mike mentioned the song had vocals and said he was the only person in the band who liked it. The bassline and the drums were reused on "Given Up". 08. Chicken Basket (A Thousand Suns) Mike posted about this song in his blog back in October 2009 when they recorded it. He described the music as "Santigold meets Postal Service meets At The Drive In" and said the vocals sounds like "Peter Gabriel and Huey Lewis". The band mentioned it by name a few other times before the release of A Thousand Suns, usually when talking about how ridiculous their working titles were. Samples of the song were included in the first Linkin Park bundle for Stagelight, so we can have an idea of what it sounds like (sounds pretty good to me). 09. Tinfoil (Powerless - Original Longform Demo) (A Thousand Suns/Living Things) "Powerless", just like "I'll Be Gone" (and "Lies Greed Misery" according to the LPU 16 tracklist), was started during the A Thousand Suns sessions and finished during the Living Things sessions (it was the last song they finished for the album). Like "Primo" (which I love), the song was originally 6 minute long. 10. Skin To Bone (Demo) (Living Things) "Skin To Bone" started as what the band described as a "hippie folk song". I imagine it must have started as an acoustic piece just like "Warm Spell" ("Devil's Drop") and "Three Band Terror" (ending of "Until It Breaks"). I like the album version, but I would love to have an "acoustic version" of it.

  21. I think this is the closest we have: http://linkinpedia.com/index.php?title=List_Of_Songs_By_Linkin_Park#LP_Underground
  22. This is exactly what I was thinking. I don't know if anyone noticed, but Bleed It Out, Consequence A and Consequence B were all tagged as "2011 Demo" (even with the file names saying otherwise). Then we have a 2015 demo of a song that was released in 2012 and a 2015 demo of a song that already existed in 2014.
