  1. interesting that that promo photo of Joe is the same one used for the 11.10.13 posters. i'm sure alot of this will be in 5.0, but... http://lplive.net/shows/20130801.php "Bleed It Out Ext. Bridge w/ RME; Ext. Outro" "RME" should read "Reading My Eyes", I was sure we didn't normally abbrevaite song snippets on the guide. (also, I'm assuming that the lack of identification of verse/chorus part means we don't know which part of RME was played?) http://lplive.net/shows/20080607-2.php broken samples for source 1 and 2b http://lplive.net/shows/20080629.php does the workrpint LPL released not count as a source? http://lplive.net/shows/20130226.php http://lplive.net/shows/20130227.php are both missing Narcc85's sources

    Early Entry

if you managed to get front without early entry in the UK i'd say you could do it. for sonisphere 2009 my friend and I were up and out of our tent at like, 9am so we could get to the front, we seemed to be among a very small amount of people doing it that year (and I saw shit-loads of LPU shirts that weren't even bothering to be near the front) and we got a space on the barrier without any real problem. we had a worse time trying to get to the front for things like Avenged Sevenfold than LP. granted my experience was festival-based and is way different to an arena show - festivals really depend on the kind of people who are there to see whichever bands they're there to see, but yeah. it's not as if you're seeing MCR in the UK and need to bring a tent
  4. also, about this^^, Coldplay are a mainstream, radio-friendly band that appeals to all ages, they collaborated with a mainstream pop artist (Rihanna), and they put one fuck of a lot of effort into making their live shows an event, not just a concert (the light-up wristbands, the butterfly confetti). LP are a borderline on UK radio, they don't appeal to all ages, they collaborate with hip-hop/EDM artists who are not household names, and their shows are nothing like Coldplay's for production. the UK has tons of famous/big bands because we are a developed, multi-cultural, and relatively liberal first-world nation with a strong infrastructure and communications network. the UK just happens to have been quite lucky to have managed to stay politicallly and (relatively) economically stable following its post-industrial/colonial era. music depends upon disposable income and freedom of expression, and nowhere is this more noticable in the UK's education system, look up any big or 'classic' british band and you will find that it was either through schools or universities (particularly in arts colleges) that most of the members came to know one another: Pink Floyd (London Polytechnic), Muse (Teignmouth Community College), Coldplay (University College London), Queen (Imperial College London/Ealing Art College), Blur (Goldsmiths College) and so on... UK bands are "so famous" because we just happen to have the conditions to make it happen,
  5. I don't think you're bitching at me, you're proving my point I think it's fair to be disappointed at missing out because you are being missed out. I missed LP's 2010 uk tour because I was unwilling to travel alone. I had the money and my own schedule - I could have gone! it was a confidence thing and I totally regret that now, but that was my choice - I'm now willing to do a bit of travel to see the band in my country, but I - like you - also can't just drop everything to go to CA! you can only get older, so you'll be ready soon enough. start slowly and sensibly - you'll get there you're actually lucky that you'll be about to hit an age where you can do your own thing and spend your money the way you like, right before the next stage of your life when you start having to be responsible with your time and money - a job, financing a flat, bills etc. which is what holds us older fans back! road-tripping is about compromise: I am willing to travel for a band that also makes the effort to travel.
  6. it's also listed as an import on the UK store - http://www.amazon.co.uk/HIGH-RISE--EP--STO...le+pilots+vinyl
  7. I was briefly famous on twitter (RTd by Hahninator and a few community names I recognised, get me) for a post that roughly said - if you really love a band - prove it, don't moan if they're not playing in a city near you: travel - it's 1/2 the fun! I wholeheartedly stand-by my assertion, but I am realistic enough to know that this was meant in terms of travelling betwen cities in a country that's as small as the UK! (and for bands on the club curcuit that aren't yet charging upwards of £15 yet). I have seen far too many posts by people in, say, manchester (UK) who will be upset that a band isn't playing their city, yet there is a tour date in Liverpool (30m/40km away). They'll say things like "x/y are my life!" but can't seem to fathom putting a bit more effort in to be there. LP, or more accurately, the kind of tours LP do, are different: 5 UK dates in ~4 arenas (estimation) can be tough to fit around the rest of your life, and in the US, public transport, if I understand correctly, is a bitch. Europe is a big ol' place, and can be intimidating if (like me) you're crap at learning languages. LP being in Europe is as useful to most UK fans as those "we are the (Californian) LPU" events are to someone who lives in NY. I honestly don't think it's hypocritical of me to be a bit disappointed that LP hasn't played in the UK in 833 days (for a one-off gig that was fucking difficult to win tickets for), hasn't played a festival here in 855 days (one of the most expensive festivals in the UK), and for not being back since their last tour date (1068 days ago). we all want the band to play on our doorstep, it's only natural. my little statement about travelling to shows is fun and "proof" of fandom, applies to people who can't be bothered when it's on a plate, for alot of fans this last year, LP hasn't even been in the kitchen... I'm game for making trips to see bands, but within a reasonable reach.
  8. MTM II mine's more of an EP - A.06 (LPU2 short version, the count-in for QWERTY should be before the closing turntable echo has been silenced) QWERTY (more echo on guitars and samples, so it sounds more like the live version) I Have Not Begun (QWERTY should end with the opening 'hums' of IHNB so it transitions like a boss) Blue Pretend To Be Dedicated She Couldn't New Divide (w/My December as a hidden track) I might agree with you on High Voltage not being (technically a b-side, on the basis that it was [art of an older 'release', but b-side is a term for what's on side 2 ( of a vinyl single, the phrase transitioned to mean non-album tracks that are included on a CD single. OSC vinyl single side A: One Step Closer side B: My December My December appeared on LPU2, but it was readily available as a b-side on the OSC singles. My December is a b-side.
  9. what happened to the Joe Hahn section? has it vanished!?
  10. like most of these club parties I doubt we'll get any sources for it. The A's facebook seems to be pretty good at putting up tons of photos though, so there's that.
  11. the title topic only mentions Joe and DJing --- side note: there appears to be a bit of a promo slip up on which resident DJs are performing, the running order sheet and the posters don't match up. it's not a hugely important detail, so I didn't put this in the main post, but it's something to bear in mind for the show page
  12. an alternative poster can be found here LP has tweeted an announcement that Joe will be performing at The A in Seoul, South Korea tonight (11th Oct) for a Diesel/Dazed event, as part of Diesel's global campaign, #DieselReboot. tickets/entry is 30,000 KRW (roughly $28 USD) a set-times sheet shows that Joe will be 3rd on the running order and have an hour-long set starting at 12:30am, performing alongside The A's resident DJs. It might also interest fans of LP's latest work "A Light That Never Comes", that collaborator Steve Aoki played here on September 19th this year source | photos more information on the #DieselReboot event (in Korean) can be found on The A's webpage here, which roughly (badly) translates to: "20130.1 0.11 (Fri) JOE HAHN in SEOUL DIESEL X DAZED PRESENT# DIESELREBOOT Grammy award three times, and more than 30 million albums in sales in the new millennium, Linkin Park DJ JOE HAHN' 'the first party in the club directory. 13. all this "WCB", we sound like we're a local radio chain! I prefer Camp Freddy, I like hearing Chester on lots of diverse stuff - well, 'diverse': mostly old-school rock. I'm not sure I really liked the High Rise EP. Out Of Time just sounds like they threw words on paper and were like "yep! done!"
  14. he has a (screenshot) clip of the video on his IG account now too. looks cool, I love the stuff they do with Ghosttown media
  15. the difference being that Chester didn't let it get to a point that it totally ruined his credibility in the industry. sure, he was high onstage in LP's early year's but he wasn't cancelling shows because of it...
  16. I reckon Chester could nail - Black Sabbath - Paranoid Shinedown - The Crow & The Butterfly AC/DC - Whole Lotta Rosie and LP? an utter curve-ball - 20th Century Boy
  17. I still haven't heard A Light That Never Comes...
  18. an EP (by definition) should be 25m in length, so if they plan on releasing multiple EPs we will probably end up with more music than is usually available on just one full-length (50-60m) album. I agree that it'll be a bit lame in the short-term between EPs, but hopefully, in the long term this means "more stuff"
  19. if we have club tattoo and suru then I'd say yes
  20. Mike commented on twitter (it appears to have been deleted since) that the price is realistic considering how much it cost to make. considering the globe, I'm inclined to believe him - ferrofluid, glass, 3d scultping all adds up, and were not even talking about the production of the art book, box, stylus and CD yet...
  21. i haven't ordered anything but got given the in-game bonus code for some reason. for anyone wondering, it's a t-shirt for your character
  22. it's a fair point, but it begs the question - who is that expensive box-set for? if the mega-fan has already heard most of the remixes, and the casual fan is simply not that fussed, then neither is going to put the money together for it... unless, of course, it's for the whole "yeah, I totally have the box-set" vacuous rich ****er vibe I'm honestly not complaining about the price because it's my choice not to buy, but this balance of casual fan/hardcore fan/price interests me. what I would personally like to see is a "customisable" box - you choose the bits you want from the box and they ship that. I'm sure that the globe pushes the price way up, when really all I'd be buying for is the art book, instant download and the CD... in a similar vein, it irks me a little that the vinyl doesn't come with a cd in a little plastic slip-case. I think every album I've bought on vinyl has included this and it's a bit tough to have to pick between decent quality or file portability. also, the recharge game was definitely giving points away - they probably overestimated the game's popularity and then found the counter wasn't moving fast enough to coincide with the single release
  23. LP.com it's $350 (minus post) = 219 GBP and 262 EUR still too much for me though, I fold. the price was in GBP, not USD, my mistake. I definitely fold on the box-set. will probably stick to the CD.
