  1. considering how bad I want to see them again since '09, it's ace to see them hitting up places that haven't seen them since goddamn the Meteora World Tour! I don't think a summit in Kuala Lumpur is likely since the HK one will probably be considered to have covered the area, but still - I can imagine how excited the Malaysian fans must be
  2. I highly doubt we'll see anything cool for this show. the promo was interesting yes, but i doubt it's of any consequence on the setlist.
  3. Ok. Silly stuff ends HERE Back to the discussion at hand.
  4. this is LP related, topic = moved please check your subforums
  5. fair enough. I'm a relatively late LP fan (post '08) so I don't know much about FM really.
  6. pretty sure that the pre HT-era stuff is just a nice little in-joke to everyone who actually knows about it. SPOILERZ GUYZ loved the amount of people who didn't realise who they were talking to, but I guess they don't all know the band like the fansites do really enjoyed this episode
  7. it would certainly explain the Sweet Child O' Mine covers...
  8. not that they reflect his entire life, but that they were written during lulls in Chester's schedule. he's got a much bigger family commitment right now, he's working with STP (or whatever they're now going to be forced to be called) and LP are in the studio on various projects here and there. my point is, I can't see him getting the time to write solo stuff for a while yet.
  9. is the correct attitude to have.
  10. I'm preparing for this thread to turn into a "X is holding up the album" list
  11. yes, quite frankly if I was an STP fan, I'd rather not have to a go through that lottery of "will I actually get to see them play tonight?" it's a Guns N Roses situation (minus the baffling egotism), no fan wants to pay a fuck ton for a ticket only to find out you actually wasted your money. it's not fair to them.
  12. I'm not optimistic. I have a feeling that '13/'14 is the new '05/'06 in Linkin Park terms, but we're getting some cool stuff happening on the side-project front (like in '05/'06) so it's at least not too disappointing that the band might not be too active for now. and yes, at least there's the yearly LPU to get excited for
  13. considering alot of the DBS stuff on OOA was written throughout Chester's entire life, I doubt we'll see a new album soon. it obviously takes a while for some pieces on an acoustic that you write in your downtime to become fully fledged songs, and it's not something I forsee Chester doing alot of these days, particularly in light of his involvement with STP. if it ever happens again, it'll take years. and I have a nasty feeling that it won't ever. I doubt the label would even want to pick up the project again, we all saw how badly promoted the entire thing was, it's clear that someone in those offices isn't remotely interested in letting this band get anywhere...
  14. agree mostly with what people are saying re: Mike and Chester. although I honestly think that LP won't end due to member changes - they're too stable a unit. where I think I stand upon the notion of "(he/she) is the band name, once they're gone, that's it!" (Weiland's case) is that if you get fired, you can't really claim to be in ownership of that name since it is that one person being consciously removed from the project by the others. choosing to leave too, i think, falls under this category. I'm not really sure though, I see tons of those small punk bands on wikipedia where all the founding members are no longer involved and yet the current outfit still keep the same name. it's a tough thing to decide where there is a line on this subject
  15. I'm confident that anywhere in Russia is pretty far away from most of Russia... on another note, has the WHWY touring cycle pretty much finished now? they already appear to be working on a few things in the studio and I'm curious if that's it for this album
  16. ah. thank you! I knew the "everybody knows" bit, but couldn't figure out the beginning part.
  17. I still don't know what that sample voice is saying haha!
  18. I believed that the "Hardly Breathe" track by Hydroponikz which "featured" Chester was a real legit song, not a fan made thing. although that said, when and why were his parts to that "song" recorded? they must have been intended for use somewhere...? that and when I first heard Mmmm Cookies! i deleted the tracks because I thought I'd downloaded another band's EP by accident.
  19. I will definitely be submitting a lot of stuff to this thread. Great idea, since very little of this is big enough for the corrections thread
  20. iPhone 5 does have a panoramic camera function, yes, (I too use it to take panoramas at gigs) but it's limited to a straight line left to right motion. the gyroscope won't let you do it "wrong". the app Joe has lets you move the phone beyond the axis, and not in one continuous sweep. I like the warped effect he got in those pictures but I don't want to pay for a shed-load of apps just to find the right one
  21. What's the name of the app that joe used to make those weird panoramas that he tweeted during the show on HCT?
  22. yup, Ireland and Italy have really missed out alot. Ireland often misses out on alot of UK bands' tours to be honest, but does LP really not have the money to go there? I know little about Italian tours by bands so cannot comment on that
  23. Linkin Park's graphics team are clearly honey badgers. joke explained - ("honey badger don't give a shit" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4r7wHMg5Yjg)
  24. I would go with what more people (therefore Amir and Ryan) say about what happened to the reunion. but we're not them. we will never know for sure. on another note, yes, can we edit the first post to include all the links? it's easier to find what you want to DL, rather than searching through the whole thread. Geki, are you willing to do this, and then keep an eye on this thread in future?
