  1. why? genuinely curious, this isn't meant to appear aggressive
  2. what day is record store day? I thought it was back in March...? it helps to read sometimes... on the subject of frenzy - I bet tons of people go just to get rare stuff so they can flog it for a fuck-load on ebay. chivalrous.
  3. I forgot about Ferropolis, must be so cool to see the band there and have that whole "transformers" vibe at the time. they should go back there, it looks damned cool
  4. I'm checking through most of what I've got against what's in the guide and updating all my stuff in iTunes to include source numbers. dull task but it gives me a reason to be trawling through the guide Dead By Sunrise - can we add all the http://lplive.net/setlistssongs/dbsofficia...eleasedlive.php info to each respective show page. it's useful to have this information alongside all the source information. source 3e from http://lplive.net/shows/20090801.php should also be on http://lplive.net/deadbysunrise/20090801.php since Crawl Back In was in that video http://lplive.net/deadbysunrise/20091009.php can we clarify in the sources that you can get hold of both the songs' radio broadcast (which has short song introductions by Chester and the radio's audio tags) and purely the songs themselves (the raw tracks)? I'm not sure where my versions of the broadcast/songs fit into the existing sources because mine are - broadcasted songs time: 15m 47s format: mp3, 182 to 184 kbp/s raw tracks time: 10m 13s format: mp3, 181 to 183 kbp/s I don't know where the raw tracks came from, but ... well, I've got them! not sure if this info is useful or not, but I think it'd be useful to note in the guide that there are two versions of this performance that are available. http://lplive.net/deadbysunrise/20091023.php the source needs updating, was this ever broadcasted?
  5. yeah, in-store is definitely the priority. the place I'm hoping to get it from doesn't make them available online until a month after RSD, that's if they have stock left
  6. yes to the "thank you" button. we could just list the good ones then, interesting/funny maybe the show pages could have a "last updated" tag, isn't that something that the database could do automatically?
  7. I agree with pretty much everything you've predicted here, I reckon only the singles will stay, although I can see SIB, LFY staying, maybe they'll keep with You somewhere too. but I reckon that'll be it in terms of the set. it remains to be seen whether or not the next album will have as few tracks from it played live as Living Things did... when I'm seeing a band live, I find that I too burn up most of my energy in the first 30 mins, and in all honesty, I do start to get bored if the band has been onstage past the hour mark. like you said, I often turn up to see support bands and by the time the headline act come on, I'm always tired! I genuinely don't want to see bands that do stupidly long sets because no matter how much I might be a fan of the band, I would always get bored and feel like they had outstayed their welcome.
  8. depending on ££, i might buy one from Banquet Records. it's not local to me, but they do decent online orders, and they've been good in the past
  9. wow, Blossom hill is cool! I also liked wantagh Jones Beach. purely from how it looks though, I'm sure it gets windy and cold as hell out there there are no similar amphitheater-style venues in the UK that I can think of, festivals either happen in sports stadiums, indoor arenas or big fields... for example, I saw LP here - Knebworth House itself was just the backstage area, everyone else was out on the grounds http://www.whtimes.co.uk/polopoly_fs/cpg_4.../2382605985.jpg
  10. amen although, I would hate to be at the back in terms of club shows I like places with balconies or bits where parts of the floor are raised up so you can see from the back if you're late. It's nice to have a few barriers/railings around (even if they're not down the front) so you can lean if you're there for a long time - my back muscles are shit at doing what they're meant to for too long and I kind of have to find a spot to relax for a bit between bands. I dislike pillars in venues with a vengeance, and I'm starting to really get bored of the pit thing - if I'm seeing a band for the first time, I quite like watching them, and keeping that in my memory, not a blurred/squashed recollection of "ugh, that girl with her elbow in my face all night". I'll go stand in the sweat if I know I can see the band again. I like watching a band play - it's front row or balcony for me these days... that said, standing (not down front) at a stadium show is still ace: Twickenham, Lady Ga Ga - judge away - was one of the best shows I went to in 2012. Lady Ga Ga @ Twickenham (pitch standing) Linkin Park @ Sonisphere UK (front row) pretty much every 'Roots show I go to (intimate shows rule) Alexisonfire @ Rock City (two rows from the front) ^^ in order of "wow, that was good"
  11. this has probably been said before, but I keep seeing stuff in source notes like "released in LPL in 2009" etc... I know things like She Couldn't, Camden '04 are listed on the homepage, but can we have all the other stuff listed somewhere too? even if we can't host it, it'd be nice to have an list of LPL exclusives in a topic that links to these threads so they're easy to find. especially considering most of the ROTW threads are long dead. I'm not sure how that would work in terms of a ton of old threads being revived by re-up requests, but... yeah, I'm not sure how to finish that sentence...
  12. correct. moved. I would have killed to see them play in Rock City back in '03.
  13. http://lplive.net/shows/20080806.php Source 0 time: 82m 3s not sure if it's already ben said or not, but http://lplive.net/shows/20010428.php is coloured in on the year page as having a source, but there is no source on the show page itself. the note "The whole band rocked out on 'One Step Closer'" on http://lplive.net/shows/20010625.php seems a bit ...odd to have as something considered really noteworthy about the show... http://lplive.net/shows/20011209.php "Right before 'One Step Closer', the band played a short cover of Outkast's 'So Fresh, So Clean'" could we include that cover in the setlist rather than as a show note? http://lplive.net/shows/20030303.php should we include in the note about ETR and HTF not being broadcasted, that Session too was also left out of the broadcast? there are audience recorded videos for 11.10.2003 - Moore Park, NSW (Livid Festival) which are missing from the guide (there's not even a page for this show!) only APFMH (which is cut) and OSC seem to be available. does this count as a source? or has this been left out for quality purposes? the screenshots do make the video look pretty crap to be honest... tiny grammatical point: http://lplive.net/shows/20050702.php "The touch-up was fixed on the LPUnderground 5.0 CD" a "touch-up" already means "to fix", so this sounds odd. "a touch-up was made on..." / "the mistake was fixed..." either one makes more sense. the "next show" button on http://lplive.net/shows/200703xx-3.php redirects to a blank show page - http://lplive.net/shows/200703xx-4.php EDIT: in fact, the link on the year page redirects to this blank page too. http://lplive.net/shows/20070314.php "'What I've Done' was released on the site a month early to hype the release of the performance." which site? iTunes or AOL? http://lplive.net/shows/20070504.php the "show notes" title is on the page, but there are no actual notes for this show, either the notes are missing or there's a glitch there. http://lplive.net/shows/20070527.php - now that we have the support acts section, do we need the note about Blindside and 30STM supporting in the show notes bit? especially since this was not a one off on the tour http://lplive.net/shows/20070804.php the DSP is missing from the show page. http://lplive.net/shows/20071113.php link to photo of chester directs to a 404
  14. that's a point, not sure if it's possible to copyright something you've only ever played live. but I guess that it'd be easy for any court to be played a part of the DSP and hear similarities to an "original" track, plus I'm sure Warner has the money to sue anyone into oblivion...
  15. that's it, thank you - MSC not LPA, my bad!
  16. oh god, not more smilies...
  17. I think there's already a list of magazine articles over on LPA (but god knows, I can't find it for the life of me), but yeah radio interviews, TV specials etc would be cool to have somewhere, even if it's just one of those nice big forum posts
  18. so... they were just using the pictures for random promo...? photos take up more space on Facebook news-feeds, so it would draw more people's attention to the posts. kind of annoying in that they did that with unrelated pictures but, yeah, that sort of crap happens in the world of advertising.
  19. oh snap! back-page.... I must say, they did a good job making this seem legit. they almost had me
  20. yeah, you'd be able to play the tracks on the page if it was real EU only, tracks we already have - the whole thing is designed to piss everyone off (particularly US fans)
  21. has no-one else realised that this is a joke by LPA...? underlining is all my own the sarcasm is strong with this one...
  22. I'm guessing you're asking this since your YouTube got a "telling off"...?
  23. well there have been two big server crashes I can think of, we had a pretty big one around 2010 that could have also caused it. I don't think it's that big a deal if it's the 30 second snippets, it's just useful to have if you're trying to check which sources you've got, particularly where there are very similar tape times or have no obvious differences between them.
  24. insignificant, but... http://lplive.net/shows/20031025.php the F.09 sample from source 2 redirects to a 404 how much of this sort of stuff are we likely to have lost as a result of the server problem?
  25. this quote makes me happy. I'm now convincing myself that LP aren't playing. if they don't play, I won't feel cheated, and if they are - then that's a nice surprise
