so... if the "ol' skool STP" fans are boycotting... more 'STP w/Chester' fans get to attend...? I'd call that a result for this forum

Linkin Park Song Election - LIVING THINGS

I was never under the impression that the name Xero/Hybrid Theory on the flyers meant anything beyond some sort of "homecoming" thing, considering it is the sunset strip in CA. at Mike for the Carousel comment that said, I am also not surprised to see that CA and Asia won't see different setlists. did anyone really expect any different!? however, I add my voice to the "bring out I'll Be Gone" crowd. It appears to not be that outwardly complex a song (as opposed to Robot Boy's sampling etc.) I have always considered In My Remains and I'll Be Gone to be a little bit too similar to be on the same album, so if they can do IMR, IBG can't be too muchh of a stretch can it? (I agree with you, Castle Of Glass) on the subject of Skin To Bone, I honestly think that if they did play it, it would quickly become like LGM, where we say it feels a bit odd and quickly tiresome. Robot Boy has this big sweeping edge that could carry an audience, but Skin To Bone doesn't seem quite so effective. but that's just my personal opinion. either way, let's hope we get a DSP of this one, I love the audience rec's we got from this year, but 2013 is sorely lacking in some SBDs.

oh Somedude, I- ... I'm not sorry Until It Breaks -
definitely some sort of Xero/early Chester joining moment (audition, demo session, etc.) that Lockout video, with the terrible room, Chester getting mad about being unable to afford the parking ticket always makes me feel so "oh my god, you guys have no idea what's about to happen...". moments like that would be so interesting to see first hand. I couldn't ever pick.

yes, in all honesty, the Malaysian fans have been waiting 10 years for another appearance, so I'm happy to see them get a chance again.

my vote goes to Burn It Down. surprised at all this dislike of Skin To Bone, it's a little repetitive, yes, but it's got a cool rhythm and I quite like the weird distorted vibe. just me. -
on both the show page and the year page colour coding, Camden '12 is missing source 1 from here I am sure I don't need to list source info, but - Source 1: Audio - AUD Audio (Soundman OKM II R > iRiver iHP-120 (Rockbox)) Taper: AndOne (?) Time: 98:29 mins Format: mp3 / 186.4 MB Comments: None.

possible. most venues that would accommodate LP are the kind that would have alot of stuff booked quite far in advance. in either case, at least it wasn't that UK/EU dates were announced then cancelled, that's pretty much the worse thing they could have done if they re-arranged their plans around the mall soundtrack. so that's at least a positive.
-
who here really thinks we'll get the album in 2014? if they're working on the Mall OST simultaneously I can see the album being put out either very late in the year, or they'll delay it into 2015 to have the majority of the promo spread over summer/festivals
-
yeah but by then you need to renew with LPU50 although maybe they did have something planned at it wasn't announced before something fell through? I'm grasping at straws though, I'd consider this pretty unlikely to have happened since they already had a ton of festival dates lined up
-
recent reading, i see for me, it would be playing Manchester and Birmingham, then skipping Nottingham. that is always annoying...

bumping by posting this here since I don't want to clog up the Kuala Lumpur announcement thread. I am really disappointed that the band seem to be totally skipping over the UK on the LT schedule. but honestly, i think I'm more surprised by it than anything else. some thoughts: the UK doesn't have a particularly strict work/performance visa policy that is aligned to an extreme political agenda (like, for example, China's) Living Things was number one in the UK album charts, beating Justin Beiber and Maroon 5 - given the strength of the Beiber fanbase, this in incredible accomplishment, particularly when you consider the fact that, in terms of 'compared to Beiber' and 'compared to how big they used to be', LP are nowhere near as "big" in popular, modern culture. Burn It Down was at the top of the UK Rock Singles Chart for ages and in the top 30 in the mainstream Single Charts (peaking at 27) Lies Greed Misery was released via UK radio in that scavenger hunt, so the band are clearly aware of fan interest here, and in particular, fan interest in the new material. from memory, many of the 2012 dates were sold out - they clearly don't make a loss coming to the country. If I remember correctly, wasn't LPU12 sold with membership benefits that included an "upcoming UK and European Tour"? (although given the lack of a European headline tour, I admit, the UK's not the only one with a raw deal here) the lack of any UK dates is ... beyond me. I really can't see any legitimate reason that the band haven't toured with LT in places that have so gladly had them before. shows in places that have never had the band before, or have waited a long time to see them since their last time is brilliant, I can only applaud that, and yes, I understand family commitments on each band member, but not one date? it's disheartening. I could see the band being asked back to do the iTunes festival in Sept, since the promo for the event is still in the "line-up release" stage. fingers crossed, but I'm not hopeful.
-
I whole-heartedly agree that the setlists have improved dramatically since 2012, it's just a shame that the touring schedule has been reduced dramatically since 2012! I cannot really comment on how the band's been sounding and the energy of the shows, but that's part of the problem - I've not had the opportunity to do so! I'm sure I'm about to be told I should bite the bullet and travel to the European Continent if I'm that desperate to see the band on this cycle, but I can't afford to do so, and it's frankly ridiculous that the fans have to be the ones who go 'on tour'...

hearing Ryan sing 'acoustically' is really nice. I feel like it's easy to overlook the strength of his singing voice once the songs fill out with all the various parts and layers. not saying i don't like the density of their songs, this is just a nice contrast to what I'm used to with JK
-
I think Astat has this one pretty neatly summarised I'd find it funny if it wasn't so tragically true.
-
you know the tour schedule is a bit off if Germany only gets a few festivals...
-
my car stereo disagrees with you! haha. I dont drive with the windows closed very often (begin meme) but when I did, passing pedestrians could clearly hear the track, and then see tiny little me sitting calmly at the wheel. it's the drums that make victimised into the monster it is

yes of course, I'd seen some people talking somewhere about the possibility of a Summit. which yeah, was odd

In response to this, I think the Site Calendar should be updated to show more than just the birthdays of site members (who even add their DOB in the first place...) perhaps this is something to add to the site suggestions thread Skipees? members should be able to add events like interviews, side project performances, LP performances, significant dates to the calendar (once approved by one of the staff guys, of course) so they show up on that function, could be something cool to add
