  1. I'm not really sure what to make of all this. For one thing, Chester did go back and say "not forced" because he probably knew how strong that sounded. Like LP was some burden. I don't think he really feels forced as in "oh my god Ryan, I wish I could work on these new DBS songs but MIKE says we have to go on tour." or something like that. I think he meant "limited" rather than "forced," meaning his work on DBS is limited to when LP has some down time. Had he used the word limited it would have come across a lot better. I don't want to make a big deal out of it though. We love hanging on to the band's quotes and causing a huge commotion out of what is usually nothing (see: "genre-busting," Mike "hints" about what LPU8 would be, "Fort Minor energy," etc.) Hence why Mike decided not to give us the demo names. I think Dead By Sunrise is just Chester's opportunity to be the boss like a traditional "lead singer" would be. I honestly think DBS might make maybe 1 more album, and that's it. It'll fizzle out.
  2. DBS just doesn't seem to have Warner's support. Also, I agree with Preston in that I really don't see why Chester thinks he couldn't go to his very successful real band of years with some songs that were personal to him. I mean, Chester has mentioned a few times that he loves the lyrics to Let Down and didn't want them changed. If he went to LP and said "look, this song means a lot to me, it's really personal, can we not change the lyrics?" Would LP really have said no? I'm not sure. And it's not like all the songs on the album are all that more personal than LP. Chester said in an interview that he sat down and wrote the heavy part of the album (CBI, Condemned, Inside Of Me) basically in one night. To me that sounds like writing music just to fill up an album. I guess if Chester means the songs are more personal in that *he wrote them all by himself*, then sure that's great. Congrats. Let's get back to LP now.
  3. I couldn't care less about the title. I just want to hear it.
  4. During the last LPU chat, I can't remember what was asked/said exactly, but he mentioned a song that had been made before that they brought back. You can read it in the transcript.
  5. Good call on this. I bet this could be it.
  6. Dear Mark, Your ability to communicate with people like Adam about awesome surprises in advance makes me a jealous person. Thank you for your time.
  7. A new song is a new song. I remember I was trying to tell this to people on the LPU after LPU8 launched and people got upset. A new song can be anything we haven't heard, regardless of when it was made. It's "new" as in "hasn't yet been heard." But you never know, maybe it is something from the new set of songs. That would be a new direction for LP to go in.
  8. Yeah guys, video's back up. Split second of music at the end. Basically Brad just being silly. "Dude, fuck mikeshinoda.com"
  9. Agreed. It's more than likely 6SS or some other MtM b-side. Unless they made a new song just for the game but I don't think they did.
  10. Ill never understand why people keep mentioning mmm...cookies. It's a new LP song, not a continuation of LPU8.
  11. Ah, okay. You said "something like that." Never meant to disagree that he said it about this new album, as we can all see people have latched onto the phrase non-stop like it means something.
  12. You said Mike called MtM genre busting if you go back and read what you said =P and I questioned that. Still waiting for the proof too. XP
  13. One Step Closer Lying From You Given Up From The Inside Somewhere I Belong Points Of Authority What I've Done Leave Out All The Rest Numb Breaking The Habit Shadow Of The Day Crawling In The End *New Song* ------------------ New Divide Bleed It Out Faint Obviously this is just what I think the next set will be, based on what Mike said during the LPU chat. Some order of these 18 songs. Nothing really gone except for Session, but there wasn't much there to begin with other than the singles.
  14. I say Germany. LP always has great shows there.

    Mike's Update

You have to understand though that the past year has been them making demos, not full songs. The 5 songs that were just completed were 5 of those song ideas being pushed into full songs. And they did that in about a month. Don't think that it took them a year to make 5 songs, that isnt how they are operating. They took a year to make all the song ideas they have thus far, and now they are taking the best ones and finishing them. At the rate of 5 demos being finished per month, we should have an album by June if you ask me. And I don't think they ever said MtM was genre-busting, but if you can find me that quote please do. Because it is not a "genre busting" album. What it is, is a genre variety. It has punk rock, hard rock, alternative, pop, indie, and rap-rock all on the same album.

    Mike's Update

Yeah, I don't care if Mike says they're "halfway done," this album will be out soon. 5 songs finished, and they're gonna get to work on a new set of songs out of 20ish potential ones. If they finish another 5 maybe, 10 finished songs. For MtM they finished around 18. I'm pretty sure we're almost there guys. New album soon. EDIT: And for those worried about Chester's creative input on this album, there you go.
  17. Brad looks almost the same as he does now. Good times.
  18. They're starting to hype the hell out of this one too. Calling it "unusual," "futuristic," and "genre-busting." They might need to be careful.
  19. They also used to not do guitar solos. Times just change, it's a new album. One that needs to come out soon.
  20. I noticed that too.
  21. I don't think Chester has started any DBS work yet. Amir and Ryan maybe but I'm sure Chester is just working with LP at this point. Maybe a few DBS song ideas sent to the rest of the band, but I'm fairly certain Chester's attention is on the new LP album. Or maybe I just don't want to think otherwise.
  22. Yeah. He was just bein silly.
  23. XD Mike was definitely joking around with the interviewer. As for the thread, mostly the stuff others have said. - Too much attention to the hit singles in the setlists - Time between albums - Lyrics. Linkin Park has never had songs with great lyrics. HHH, BTH, In Between, and TLTGYA are the exceptions.
  24. I love when Chester does stuff with Camp Freddy. He always puts on great performances.
  25. I think it might be the opposite. The drugs were probably what wore his voice down, along with age and use. And as for everyone debating whether or not pot is bad for you, inhaling any type of smoke from a burning substance is never good for you.
