One show I hope they release also is the T2 Premiere set. Other than New Divide, those were some great performances. Chester sounded great.

Why does everyone keep bringing up mmmm...cookies? That's LPU8. LPU8 is over. Plus if you remember, when mmm...cookies was soon to be released, Mike was very choosy about his words, and made sure not to call it "new Linkin Park music."

All good points. Labels have more influence on the live show than most people realize I think.

This isn't the first time Mike has hinted at the fact that the other band members don't like playing the older, more fan-favorite songs, like the ones from HTEP. I remember someone posted a video from an LPU Meet and Greet and Mike mentioned how Brad/Rob don't like randomly inserting songs like A Place For My Head into the setlists. It seems like the other guys are just looking to please the casual fans sometimes as far as the live show is concerned. EDIT: And don't get me wrong, I can kind of see why. Linkin Park is a huge band, with a LOT of hits. If they were gonna play other stuff the sets would be really long. Still though...

I couldn't make it to the chat, but it's pretty disappointing to hear that the other band members just want to play singles. I'm glad we have a guy like Mike in the band. Also, if a new LP song is coming in Jan., maybe the album isn't tooooo far off?

That song at the beginning is DEFINITELY a VMA score song. I'm pretty sure I have the MP3 of it, or I had it. It was never released exactly, but someone ripped it from the broadcast. The MP3 still had the announcer saying "coming up next..." in it and everything. So yes that song is a VMA score song. I'll see if I have it. EDIT: I have the MP3. If anyone can direct me to somewhere I can upload it I'll do that. And it's not good quality, as I said it has talking over it. But it's definitely from the VMAs.

I actually applaud SpraypaintNinkpens for asking that question (could have been worded better), but I think it's good to remind the guys directly that we want music from these guys! I'm glad they've started to do just that, and I think the gem here is that Mike says they have things planned before the album comes out, with Across The Line being just an example. Sounds like we may be getting something else.

My opinion on LPU9 is a little weird. It is, hands down, the *BEST* LPU package to date. 9 demos with 1 of them being a demo of a song we never got to hear. It's actual exclusive content this time (with apparently an awesome free download still waiting). That said, these aren't songs that I'll be blasting on my iPod anytime soon. And they shouldn't be, they're demos. Incomplete pieces of music. A lot of people have been giving Across The Line a lot of love. As an exclusive demo, I love it too. However, I can't agree with anyone saying it should have been on MtM (you In Between hater people! One of my favorite LP songs. THOSE lyrics are beautiful.), at least as the song is on this CD. I'm sure if the song had been completed and put on MtM the lyrics would have gone through some fine-tuning. "It's your time" is just filler. The song is extremely poppy, so as for the song itself, it's not going to be getting a bunch of plays from me. However, that isn't the point of LPU9. The point was to give us exclusives, things we've been asking for. And LP and the LPU fucking delivered. I hope you guys get the point I was trying to make. It's obviously the best LPU package we've gotten IMO. My favorites are Sad (seriously. awesome.) and Fear.

I'm a sad child right now. Lyrics to Across The Line look interesting though. Different than a lot of LP songs.

Just gonna repost what I said in the pre-chat thread: Awesome news about them releasing all the live shows they have. And I think people need to let NRL live RIP at this point. The band has confirmed more than once that they practiced playing the song and just did not do it well.
