    My Suffering!

I actually like this a lot better than Crawl Back In. Awesome that Chester just put the song out like that. I was one of the people that thought the change from the 08 version of the song to the 09 version was just unnecessary, but this is still good.
  2. Chester had dreads. o.O
  3. You're taking that too literally. Mike only said hardcore techno because the song is probably a very electronic rock song. That doesn't mean it's a song that's gonna be played at raves or anything.
  4. I really was sort of disappointed with the chat at some points. It had a lot of ups and downs. Lots of good questions like HT 10th anniversary/New stage/Pictureboard/LPU9 design, further band artwork. But what I don't understand, and no disrespect to the LPU mods who work the chat because I appreciate them so much for conducting these chats, but too many questions passed today were already answered TONS of times in recent interviews. 4 seperate questions were passed that, basically, went like this: "Mike, do you foresee another FM record excluding the energy going into the new album?" "Will the new album include more rap-rock songs?" "With Rick Rubin producing, will this album sound like MTM?" "Mike, do you ever think another FM album will be made?" Yes, the first and last question were both asked (obviously not word for word as I posted, but you get the idea.) Again, no disrespect to the mods, or the LPUers hoping to get their questions asked, but that was really repetitive, and the answers could be found in quite a few other places already.
  5. I wonder what horror movie Chester is considering being in.
  6. I don't think DBS was ever a joke.
  7. I posted my thoughts on the song. Good thread.
  8. I agree with Geki's thoughts in that thread. The song makes me think of remembering someone that has passed on. "When I look to the stars, I know just where you are. You're looking down upon me." as Geki said, from heaven. "No need to get locked up inside the past, I know it isn't changing." - No need to dwell on what could have been done to save this person, or what you could have/should have told them. They're gone and wishing they were still around won't change that. "No need to let you go or say goodbye, to know that you'll be waiting. I know that you'll be waiting." - You don't have to block out their memory or be too sad to speak of this person, because you know you'll see them again. "I've got to, find a way, to keep my pain from burning, down to the bone." - This line is either really interesting or really bland. It either just says I can't let my pain get to me, fight the pain, which is sorta bland. Or, maybe it could mean I can't let this pain I'm feeling for this person who has passed on, deter my faith that I will in fact see them again. "Pain burning down to the bone" meaning the effect of this death thoroughly destroying your faith in an afterlife, or the chance to see this person again. And the title, Fire, could be a reference to the emotional distress you would be feeling because of this passing, the conflict of "they're dead and I'll never see them again" vs "No, I WILL see them again. They're waiting." Or, maybe the person died in a Fire. Long post.
  9. Because it sounds pretty generic. Why is that so shocking to you? I remember specifically in one interview Chester did, right after Sonisphere, he said "I write pop songs." And he wasn't being sarcastic. He's also described DBS as electro-pop. It's pop music. Do you call bullshit on Chester too? Edit: Not all pop is Britney Spears bubble gum crap. It's pop-rock.
  10. Am I the only one who doesn't see how DBS is more "rock-oriented" or whatever than LP is? Neither band instrumentally is very flashy or technical, sort of simple stuff. Even Chester said most of these songs started out extremely simply. Actually if anything DBS seems to be more pop. Which is not to say that it's automatically bad or anything, and maybe it's the theme of Fire that makes me love it, but I dunno. The songs seem generic.
  11. Pretty much this.
  12. And for the record you don't have to preorder the album to get Fire. I just bought it individually. And holy shit this made my night.
  13. Maybe they'll do some Julien-K songs.
  14. I live in the NOVA area so this is pretty close to me too. I'll probably go. Sweet. And opening for Paramore? So much for the band not "paying their dues"/working their way up like people were saying during the European tour.

    LPU9 CD

I tried finding it on YouTube but all the postings of the MTM DVD have been removed.

    LPU9 CD

If you watch the MTM DVD, at the section where they show the strings (Violins, cello, etc.) being recorded, there's one part where for about 3 seconds there is a song playing, Chester singing, which was not on the album. A name for the song doesn't appear or anything like that. You see one guy standing in the booth playing his instrument. Now go see.

    LPU9 CD

I think that's a good guess. I've agreed with your thoughts in the past that Warner has a sort of choke-hold on unreleased LP album music. Since those songs weren't being made for an album, maybe those are the ones to release.

    LPU9 CD

Now the only thing to discuss is what exactly makes a "demo"? Are we talking a completely new song like TEH 6TH STRING SONG ZOMG! Or is a demo limited to something like TLTGYA with Mike singing/NRL Chester singing/any other early version of a song we already have.

My penis just exploded from the immense orgasm.
  22. Yeah. What makes those DSPs special is that you get to always have the full recording of the specific LP show YOU were at. That's what makes it cool. I think with all the distributing of DSPs that happens online through LPL/other sites, people have lost sight of that and think that each DSP is like a new live album or something.
  23. I definitely figured out what I'm going to ask. Mike said the band was not going to use Rick Rubin as a producer because they wanted to try someone new, but they ended up asking him to produce again anyway. What changed their minds? For the record I'm not one of those people that thinks OMG Rick Rubin = MTM2!!!, I'm just interested to know. And did Mike really say before PR08 was done they'd have played NRL? I thought he only said they'd rehearsed it.
  24. no no I didn't mean don't ask or anything. sorry if I came across that way. I just don't understand why people are so intent on hearing the song live, I really don't think it would sound that great.
  25. I don't understand why people are still wondering about NRL live. Being able to sing a song in a controlled environment like a studio and being able to bust it out live are two very different things. I don't think I'd even want to hear it if Mike wasn't 100% sure he could do it. And the mods aren't gonna do that thing where they say "ask him about Glorious Excess (Dies), his war with Phoenix, or anything else!" and then right before the chat tell us we can't ask about the "anything else" are they? I hope not. And Mark are you gonna ask about that infamous 6th song? XD Or should I ready that question?
