  1. How can you be "content" with a show that you DID NOT EVEN GO TO? The setlist does not make the show good or bad. Here's a shocking fact I bet you didn't know: I don't think setlist is very good either! *gasp!* But why aren't I bitching like everyone else? Because I didn't go to this show! This show might have been epic! Chester might have been on fire. But guess what? I don't know how good or bad the show was because I was not there. You seem to treat setlists like a fucking pack of baseball cards, like "oh man! I wish I would've gotten this one or that one." How the band performed is what makes the show good or bad. I could really care less about the set when its all said and done. And this is exactly what I was saying. New Divide is new, but that's "to be expected" (and yes it was expected). Session is a new intro, but that doesn't matter because it's a dumb instrumental. DBS is LP giving us an opportunity to hear some of Chester's solo project early. Of course LP isn't DBS, but who is going to be listening to DBS? LP fans. I'm glad I'll get to hear the songs early. But since these changes aren't what you want, LP is just horrible. And I want you to answer this. If this set had had With You, By Myself, APFMH, and Figure 0.9, and Chester's voice sounded like shit, and the entire band was sloppy, would you be happier with that or the show that actually happened? And does it ever occur to you, and maybe you've never played an instrument or been in a band so I don't know how knowledgable you'd be at this, but if LP haven't played those songs for so long, and LP has been in the studio and Chester has been working double time, that maybe this tour would be the worst tour for them to do those songs? Since they haven't touched those songs in almost 6 years as you say? LP has been busy, and they want to put on a good show, so they'll use the songs they have practiced most recently to do so. That makes sense to me.
  2. Something new? Like New Divide? Or Session opening the show? Or yet ANOTHER new intro for a song (Points)? Are you telling me that this set, while not a complete overhaul of the old sets from last year, has nothing new in it? And DBS is going to play some dates as well? And you say LP isn't doing anything new? It seems to me that maybe LP did do something new, but since it isn't exactly what you wanted, you complain. And another thing, why are you complaining about this set when you were not even there? Why would a setlist to a show you are not attending matter and get you so worked up? When you hear someone who went to the show voice dissatisfaction please let me know.
  3. I didn't know this was the first time LP played in Turkey. I'm sure they went home complaining about the setlist.
  4. Some fans want to hear the songs they played though. Some fans are happy that the band even went to their country at all. And I am also looking forward to being able to hear this show, as well as the next one. And the next one. And...all of them.
  5. If I didn't get your point I'm not sure what I missed. You think that the fact that LP is going on a huge tour, but isn't really changing the setlist, isn't showing enough respect to the fans. You think that they only play singles and don't try to play a bunch of old music that the older fans would recognize. You said that money and fame has corrupted the band, though I'm not sure how that has anything to do with a setlist. And was it a good show? A setlist, for the love of everything, does not make a good or bad show. If Mike sang No Roads Left like shit, would that be awesome or bad? If Chester did By Myself and his voice sounded really weak and off-key, is that good or bad? We weren't EVEN THERE. Let's wait for videos of HOW they performed the songs before we judge.
  6. Play Bubbles? Seriously? If I went to an LP show and they did that I'd be pissed. I know that was just an example but change for the sake of change isn't a good thing. LP could never let fans pick their set because songs like Numb and Somewhere I Belong wouldn't make it, and even though people don't want to admit it, casual fans DO go to shows. They want to hear the songs that got radio time and got them into the band. How would you feel if LP did play With You, By Myself, and APFMH, and they sounded like complete crap? Would that be a good or a bad show to you? Getting rich and famous makes a band take on more responsibility because they have more people they need to keep satisfied. Great musicians are recognized on their ability to perform the songs that they do well. As nkramar said, they are touring places where the fans hardly get to see them live. LP isn't trying to make some kids sitting at their computers happy, they are trying to please the fans in attendence. I'm assuming you didn't even go to the show, the only reason you know the setlist is because you saw it here.
  7. Playing every song they ever made + ones that havent even made yet. Obviously. Is that too much to ask?
  8. This is actually a very interesting point. We're a bunch of fucking fans who are so obsessed with our favorite band (that includes myself and everyone on here) that we sit around and analyze the band's setlist. (I mean this in a good sort of way by the way, I'm proud to be obsessed.) I think the only people who can judge a setlist worth a shit are the people who, you know, actually WENT TO THE SHOW? That makes sense I think? Would anyone who was there, if there are any, like to share their thoughts on the show?
  9. Best new member, EVAR. And AMBO is the long intro, ambo stands for ambient I think.
  10. Can't tell ya about Hahninator but Pooch is the person who edits/mixes Linkin Park's sound for the DSPs. EDIT: ^^^yeah what he said.
  11. Well apparently Session was the intro, PoA had a new intro, and they played New Divide. It's not a complete overhaul but perhaps you guys jumped the gun a bit?
  12. Could you please show me where so I can read it or hear it?
  13. Exactly. So everyone who thought it was going to happen, for no reason, disappointed themselves.
  14. WHO said they were going to change the setlist?? the band? Please show me where they said they were going to do that.
  15. I'm not sure where exactly you guys got the idea that there were gonna be some cool setlists for this tour. I've been saying over and over that these sets were not going to be very creative, as this is not a new album tour. You guys only set yourself up for disappointment. And besides, what are all of you bitching about? You weren't even AT the show, what's the setlist to you?
  16. Ah! news overload. What time will the stream start if we live in an EST zone?
  17. But why is the fact that a band wants to change musically so unbelievable? The entire band is at least 30 years old and with the exception of Rob I believe, have families. They aren't a bunch of angry young kids anymore. Has your taste in music ever changed as you got older? Have you not seen Mike post on his blog time and time again about how much the band, as well as Mike personally, dislikes the genre of Nu-Metal? They grew to hate the genre as they got older because of immature it is. And I have been a fan of the band since Hybrid Theory, and I love the new sound as well as the old sound. It's not a LIE, it means I actually have an open mind as well as a broad taste in music. I'll just as well listen to OneRepublic and Death Cab For Cutie as I will Disturbed and System of a Down, and I love rap too. Anyway I'll stop ranting. For the thread, I don't know if there's a video of it, but when Mike did Reading My Eyes during Bleed It Out because a fan requested it. That was pretty cool.
  18. No offense but saying Linkin Park sold out is just ignorant. Have you not been paying attention at all the past few years? The band DOESN'T WANT to make heavier music any more. It has absolutely nothing to do with money, they got bored of the angsty-teen screamy jumping around like a moron shit. I guarantee you they lost almost as many fans as they gained. Linkin Park was already a huge band after Hybrid Theory and Meteora, "selling out" doesn't apply because they already had money, already had fans all over the world, and they still changed styles simply because they wanted to.
  19. What exactly was the deal with the USB wristbands they are gonna be handing out?
  20. Not me. I'm excited. ...and I'm not actually going to any of the shows XD
  21. Exactly, not the "best show ever." So while it is disappointing that we don't get a DSP, it's not like the other shows don't have the potential to be just as good.
  22. Not to mention the fact that since Sonisphere is not LP's festival, they can't really do a DSP since Pooch isn't in control of the stage sound? Notice how the Rock'N Coke festival isn't on there either? Don't be so quick to blame the band for something not under their control. EDIT: It's the same for Epicenter and Rock One. Though interestingly not Summer Sonic, but Japan has always shown a lot of love to LP. Some festivals just don't seem to be in LP's hands when it comes to recording.
  23. It looks like it'll be all, definitely more than just one.
  24. Yes, but you misunderstand what that means. You act like the Sonisphere show is just going to be SO much greater than their other summer shows. That's wrong, they'll be trying just as hard at EVERY show this summer. The reason Chester said Knebworth is because so many people will be there paying attention because Sonisphere is a big festival. Because there will be so many people there, if LP can have a great performance in front of all those people, they hope to send people home thinking "wow, LP's live show kicks fucking ass!" That said, the quality of the show is not going to be some godlike performance, it'll be on-par with the rest of their performances. (Which will hopefully ALL be great.) It's not that the performance will be so much greater, but more people will be watching.
