  1. I don't know if you listened to the KROQ interview, but Mike honestly seemed sort of embarassed/meh about them playing the song twice in a row. He might have just been being modest/kidding but it sort of sounded like he himself wasn't too proud of the song. Just something I noticed, no idea if it's true.
  2. Yeah but LP has always been about making real music. If they aren't into a type of music, they aren't going to make it. LP will make what they enjoy making. Best way to do it.
  3. Just so you know he quit smoking a little over a year ago. And I don't think LP isn't making as much heavy music anymore because of Chester's voice. I'm pretty sure it has something to do with the fact that the band isn't a bunch of young. angsty kids anymore. They are adults now.
  4. Eh, I'm not sure how I feel about the song. I think it will probably grow on me. Chester sings it fantastically, but it is very pop. I don't think I'll know how I really feel about it for a while. I'm torn.
  5. I just bought it! Search New Divide - Linkin Park on iTunes and it will show up.
  6. I wasnt trying to come across in a rude way, I just honestly thought KROQ was having LP in studio for the "world premiere" of the song. I swore they said that.
  7. So KROQ lied about Lp being in studio today to debut the track?
  8. Someone who can needs to tune in to KROQ. Its debuting there and will be released after that.
  9. And just to say this now. Chester's Twitter said "the song will be available at like 8 am est." That doesn't really sound like an exact confirmation. Sounds like a guesstimation to me. Chester doesn't control when the song is released. So before all of you start yelling and screaming and crying when the song isn't out by 8:01 am, the song will premeire on KROQ FIRST. And THEN it will become available afterwards.
  10. Seeing as how this ENTIRE time the band and all updates have been saying the song would premiere on KROQ (on the radio) first, I'm pretty sure that should have told you it wasn't going to be available at midnight. If some of you would actually pay attention to the facts you wouldn't be let down like this, you give yourself these weird expectations and then get pissed when someone doesn't live up to them. And I've found that most big artist's songs/albums do not come out at midnight on iTunes.
  11. Trust me, the band knows it better than anyone.
  12. Well never fear, you have nothing to worry about. Chester and Mike have already said that this song was never being made for the purpose of being on the new album, it was entirely made for the Transformers movie, which as you said is extremely mainstream.
  13. Okay. I hadn't compared the two I was only responding to what someone else said about What I've Done's chorus being able to match with New Divide, saying that all that means is they could be in the same key. It kinda makes me laugh how people are saying New Divide is a What I've Done ripoff. How much have you even heard of the song to think that? The fact that the drums come in before the guitar, and that Brad used a Fender to record? And how can a band rip-off their own song? Wait, there aren't any leaks of the vocals are there? EDIT: Oh wow, found it. Someone should update the original post with the link to the vocals, 11 pages is a lot to go through.
  14. I dunno, his playing in Tasty Snax was a bit more than "generic." LP tends to go for good, simple music instead of complicated things when it isn't necessary. As for this song, the chord progression is similar, yeah, and the tempo is almost the same. However, if you are SERIOUSLY complaining about the fact that your favorite band just made a new song with a similar chord progression/tempo as another one of their songs, you just must be having a bad day. Nit-picky much?
  15. For some reason the snippet on transformersmovie.com has the pitch of the song changed. I'm not sure why that happened. And someone said "if you sing the chorus of What I've Done over the music it fits perfectly." All that means is New Divide is in the same key as What I've Done. It doesn't mean it's a ripoff, you could do the same thing with a bunch of other LP song combinations I'm sure. And what did you guys expect for a super-popular movie soundtrack? Something sounding like A Place For My Head? I love how it sounds.
  16. XD When I first read this, the date under Macao, China was May 11th. I was like what the heck that's today!! Go me.
  17. I think that this one song has not pushed the new album back a year. That's really a bit unrealisitic. Even with the scoring of the movie it wouldn't push the album back from Spring 09 to Spring 10. Dead By Sunrise is the reason the album is coming out when it is. Chester and JK have waited a long time to release their album and get their chance, so LP is letting them put the album out and tour. I'm pretty sure that's a more realistic reason.
  18. They're playing at Jaxx in Springfield?? Awesome they will literally be right down the street from my house!
  19. Following up on Tak's interview, this makes me feel even less sorry for him. Ryu even says that Warner would have released the record, just with a very small budget. And when you think about it that makes complete sense. Not a whole lot of people listen to SoB, even in the hip-hop world they aren't a very popular group. So basically they were hoping Mike could have gotten Warner to put more money into Reseda Beach? That would have been kind of a dumb reason for Mike to get into a dispute with his record label. Tak needs to get over it. Ryu thanked Mike for helping them leave Warner and get the rights to the album. Very classy of him. Definitely looking forward to buying the album.
  20. Oh my god. Linkin Park and Hans Zimmer doing a film score together??? New LP song on the soundtrack??? I just jizzed in my pants.
  21. Okay? And when that conversation leads to nothing because Warner is about as corrupt as they come, then what? Then SoB is gonna ask Mike to do more, cause he is the big name. Then more, then more, until finally it's Mike's problem. But that's the thing, this isn't Mike's battle to fight. I understand why Tak and Ryu would be upset, but Mike has to worry about his own life and career.
  22. Grow up, this isn't a damn high school fight. "What the hell man I thought you had my back! Aren't we friends??" Are you serious? How old do you think they are? What happened the last time Mike got in a dispute with Warner? It took years for them to release another album, and was an absolute hell for the band. Mike, I'm sure, has been through enough of that. He has his own fans to worry about, SoB needs to get that.
  23. I've tried to look at this as unbiased as possible and here's what I've come up with: Mike Shinoda and Linkin Park went through hell suing Warner only a couple of years ago. Now, Styles of Beyond wants Mike to involve himself in another dispute with Warner to back them up? I understand that they are friends, but why should Mike, who has his own career and FANS to worry about, risk his relationship with his crazy-as-hell label again? Just because his name is Mike Shinoda and he has a big name group? What is Mike supposed to do? Bitch at Warner and hope his fame gets Styles of Beyond what they want?
  24. Okay, let's dispell this rumor RIGHT NOW so it does not turn into a No Roads Left-Projekt Revolution situation. Chester SPECIFICALLY SAID that he could not promise new material this summer, but it COULD happen. Okay. I'm not trying to be a d-bag, it's just when I read what you wrote, you kind of took it completely out of context and it brought back painful memories of LP fans complaining about "NO NRL!!!"
