  1. I guess this is to be expected. It's an official release, they want it to sound it's best.
  2. You definitely shook shit up. And I'll be holding you to the "most epic post"ness.
  3. They might have been trying to figure out where they wanted to place the extra songs. Like as easter eggs, after the credits, etc.
  4. They put the songs at the end because it was supposed to be a surprise. You have the CD, you watch the DVD and the songs are exactly the same. Then after the credits, *gasp!* whats this?? there's more?? whoa nice! Papercut and PoA! That's the effect they were going for. The only issue is that we as LP fans have an entire website dedicated to their live show XD. You can't really have any surprises on a Live DVD when you have absolutely ALL of their live shit compiled into one place. Many other bands could have gotten away with doing this, and it would have been something cool for the fans. We are disappointing ourselves on this one. I guess that comes with the territory of having arguably the largest fanbase in the world.
  5. last week, LP wasn't on Loveline but they played a recording of Chester and Mike saying "This is Loveline" as a promo for Loveline And Chester started singing a song about how Striker was gay XD it was hilarious. If anyone has a recording of this please share. I wanna say it was from last tuesday or wednesday.
  6. If anyone is wondering, #4 says Leave Out All The Rest music video and #5 is the Live video. Hooray for knowing Japanese. And Mike did do the remix
  7. Great post. and yes I agree 100% that getting all LPU members to stop allowing exclusive content to be available for download would be impossible. I just don't like seeing people complain about stuff like this when 1. LPU members do it themselves. and 2. People who buy this CD are basically becoming temporary LPU members anyway. They get a trial version of the LPU and the CD is almost like a "trial version" of the exclusive music we have. It's a sampler. People also say "OMG! LPU management is just trying to find ways to get more members!!" Am I the only one who has no problem with this? What's wrong with trying to get more members into the LPU? If you're a Linkin Park fan I think you should definitely be a member, within reason (as in not buying a 100 dollar package to get a plaque if you dont have the money).
  8. Thank you. I know people want things to stay exclusive, and it's not like they are giving away every single LPU song ever, but seriously. People put the music up for download on all sorts of places. LPU management probably figures this way at least people won't be stealing the music, they'll be purchasing it. You guys blame the managment for not making the LPU exclusive, when it's own members do the EXACT same thing. It's members can't complain about something they themselves do as well. I say the first thing that should be done is start a movement among the LPU members to stop allowing LPU exclusives to be put up for download. If we do that, we have the right to complain. Just my two cents.
  9. I definitely don't think this album would have taken very long at all, but Chester's album gets in the way. I think Chester has waited long enough and should finish the album if he wants. It all depends on what Chester will do. Either way I think this album will be made relatively quickly compared to past albums. I've also thought Mike would be the producer, Linkin Park is at a point in their career where they know what they want to do and will do it. It still wouldn't be a bad idea to get a co-producer in the studio as a second opinion though. And for the record I don't think there will be a PR09, but rather another Winter Arena Tour (if anything)
  10. I definitely hope we get something like that. Minutes To Midnight EP ftw? but I'm also just glad that we are getting something special. and to whoever brought up the studio rerecordings of old songs with the new live intros/outros/etc. thats an idea ive brought up before too and I think it would be pretty cool
  11. I dont think Linkin Park themselves control the price of the plaque No one said it makes you more or less of a fan, it's just supposed to be something cool to have if you are willing to pay for it. Personally, I am not going to pay for it, if it's still 80 dollars.
  12. I think you may have misunderstood him. He said: Here's what it won't be: live tracks, new unreleased Linkin Park album music. (insert frantic guessing game here). I don't enjoy nit-picking people's words XP but different people are taking his words different ways. It sorta sounds like he meant "new music that hasn't been released before." "New" meaning we have never heard it before. That would include b-sides. If new meant the new album, then that would not include MtM b-sides. Let's just wait and see.
  13. Gosh you guys act as if there had just been some type of revalation made. {SMILIES_PATH}/icon_razz.gif It was confirmed that this CD wouldn't be live tracks a while ago. Have faith when they say it the first time, they'll come through! {SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_biggrin.gif see? But I wonder what it will be though. I personally always thought it would be cool if LP rerecorded some songs with their new live intros/outros, but that's probably not it. Any other ideas? And im so relieved Chester is doing better. He slipped two disks in his back? ouch. {SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_sad.gif Definitely a LOT of pain. I'm glad he's okay.
  14. the tracklist for the cd? maybe i guess that you can fill a cd with 18 tracks of LP songs. Especially with Bleed It Out being around 8-9 mins and TLTGYA being about 7. And all the other extenders.
  15. Sometimes the LP community can be just a BIT overexcitable. {SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_wink.gif You guys need to CHILLLLLL until you see the finished product. They cut POA/Papercut/SiB from the "tracklist" When I see that it makes it sound like it isn't on the CD, and could still be on the DVD. Just like Live In Texas. LPLive has sort of spoiled the fans, because giving them a place to shuffle around live Mp3s, keep track of setlists and shows makes everyone feel like they are entitled to more than they actually are. It's two songs, that we have hundreds of different Mp3s for. Even if it doesn't end up on the DVD, so what? Some of you act like including those two songs on the CD/DVD will make it the best fuckin thing ever. It'll be fine.
  16. thank you! Don't you all remember LiT? The show is too long to fit on a CD and they left the MtM songs in because the tour was in support of MtM. The DVD will probably have everything on it so stop worrying!
  17. May I ask how in the world this makes the band better? this is a dumb question... im not gonna answer it... *back to topic* The topic is "what do you think LP could do to make itself even better?" I'm asking, how does Mike wearing a hat and earrings make the band better? It's so random.
  18. May I ask how in the world this makes the band better?

    LPU 8.0

We've also been surprised and treated to special things before.
  20. Then if you don't like what's on the CD, you don't have to buy it. That's why they offer both options. I don't like the idea of us thinking we can run the LPU. It seems ungrateful. I want exclusive stuff as much as anyone else but all of this seems so spoiled.
  21. I have to agree with this. To the person above who talked about how paying for something gives you the right to let your voice be heard, I agree 100%, but there's one problem. You aren't paying for the CD. You are paying for the LPU membership. And last time I checked, LPU7 provided an LPU membership. That's all LP and their people are obligated to give us. If you don't like it, that sucks, and I didn't like the CD last year either, but we can't be so spoiled. If LP gives us a website dedicated to the hardcore fans, they have done what they are obligated to do for our money. The CD is a bonus. EDIT AGAIN: I do agree with the point made in Hahninator's petition that says we should be given something special in return for being the hardcore fans that give money to the band to be included in the LPU. And the live tracks that we all have access to are not very special. All I'm saying is whatever they do, they do. There is no obligation for a CD at all. But here's to hoping we get some new music this year.
  22. I don't know that this is necessary. Someone on the LPU pointed out that the odd number LPU CDs have live tracks, and the even number ones have b-sides, demos, new song stuff. Gives us hope for the LPU8 CD. EDIT: as the post above says, 4 and 6 had unreleased stuff so I think 8 will too, without this petition. But worth a shot anyway I suppose.
