  1. Go back, read Chester's interview, and tell me where he said Linkin Park plans on making their show at Sonisphere "the best show ever." Chances are you won't find that quote, because he never said it. Chester said LP plans on establishing itself as the best live band in the world at Sonisphere. That doesn't mean the best show ever, and I'm sure they'll be trying just as hard to perform well at ALL of their shows. No need to put words in Chester's mouth or overreact.

    DBS Updates

I hope Julien-K does get some more attention, I love Death To Analog and hope that they can continue making music. Gah, I want to hear some stuff now. Only 2 more days til this thing kicks off.
  4. Depends on how far back we're talking. I haven't gotten to see Reading My Eyes as it was dropped for PR08, and I'd really love to see that. If that's too recent, By Myself.
  5. You forgot to finish the review! =O You should. I was there too and it was a great time. Chris Cornell during Black Hole Sun left the stage and stood on something, can't remember what, but he had a damn good show. When he came back on stage for Crawling he got a great reaction. And as you said Numb got the biggest pop. I noticed a lot of people there didn't seem to know about the whole 2 encores thing, they started filling out.
  6. I don't think that song has the type of universally appealing sound a single should have. I like it, but I don't think it would be a single. Just cause a song is good doesn't mean it's single material.
  7. Yeah, it does remind of Pink Floyd. I like the cover though, it's simple but looks good. Not unnecessarily dark or complex.
  8. "In trying to describe the artwork he envisioned for the debut album by his new project, Dead by Sunrise, Linkin Park frontman Chester Bennington tells Noisecreep he had a few key words in mind. "I wanted something that looked dark, mysterious and beautiful, but comfortable at the same time, and captured a gothic feel. But I wanted it to be modern," he said. He took that idea to the design firm Polychrome, and was very pleased with the results. "[They] really took my words and kind of started coming up with these amazing surreal shots and concepts for the album artwork and they were the ones who developed the idea for this black void, which the cloth that you see on the front kind of represents death in a way and how it is chasing us down through the artwork," he said. That collaborative spirit is also a metaphor for the album, which began as a solo project, before he became so impressed with the ideas presented by close friends and former Orgy members Ryan Shuck and Amir Derakh that he handed over free reign to the pair to experiment with his songs. The result is Dead by Sunrise, a joining of Bennington and the electornic/rock group Julien K, led by Shuck and Derakh." I was blown away by how their style and their kind of turn and twist on the music had taken the songs," Bennington said." SOURCE Looks awesome.
  9. In 07-08 Linkin Park played around 20, 21 songs a night. That's pretty much what this is, Chester wouldn't do it if he couldn't handle it.
  10. Is Muse playing or are you just referring to that one interview with Chester?
  11. That's not too many more than usual. I still think the set will be about 21 songs, I think DBS will replace some LP songs. Which means they'll have to switch up the LP sets a bit to make sure that all the mainstay songs that are usually played in the first encore, are played before DBS goes on.
  12. LP is also playing a Sonisphere festival show on July 25th in Finland. Is that the same line-up? Does all of this apply to that show as well?
  13. They probably figure Rick Rubin did such a good job helping them find a new sound before that he can do it again.
  14. Someone did, it just got lost in all the DBS news. Good that it was reposted.
  15. I wouldn't get too worried. As Astat put it very brilliantly in another thread, the band still ultimately controls the sound of the album. Rick Rubin won't make the next album a bad one and Don Gilmore wouldn't make it a great one. The quality of the album is in LP's hands. The producer is there to help give the band direction and keep focus in the studio, not make the music. This is especially true in LP, in my opinion, because of Mike Shinoda. I'd be willing to bet he gets another co-producer credit on this album too. Since he knows how to work production software, and basically is a producer himself, it helps LP get their own original ideas intact into the music and onto the album. Again, the producer will give feedback and help pitch ideas, but Linkin Park controls the sound of Linkin Park albums.
  16. Why's that an oh no?
  17. Like I posted in the other thread, I wonder what made LP change their mind about Rick Rubin on this album? I don't mind though, Rick Rubin is a great producer and has worked with great artists. He seems to like to make sure each album is unique in its own right, so it should be interesting to see what the next LP album sounds like. It sounds like there will be a lot more hip-hop/electronic/keyboard influence on this album.
  18. Um, how would that equal more money? As long as the same amount of people buys each single it's the same amount. You don't think if Warner could have all Warner artists occupying the Billboard Top 10 they wouldn't? That would mean that Warner artists #1-10 were ALL outselling the other artists, hence making more money at a quicker pace for Warner. Explain to me how your logic on that makes sense.
  19. That would be a good thing for Warner. More money and success for them. Don't ever be a business man.
  20. Did they play OSC for the winners or was ITE put in during the rehearsal?
  21. I think it's funny that we've only heard 29 secs of the finished album and people are already judging how the entire thing sounds. The other songs have been acoustic or could be different from 08. You wont know until you hear it.
  22. I wonder what made LP change its mind on using Rick Rubin. He does seem like the perfect fit for them though. He's great at what he does and strives to stay new and original, just like the band.
  23. LP wont base their sound around DBS, they'll make whatever they want.
  24. Oh geez now I want the album even more.
