  1. This is getting a bit confusing. So first, iTunes is gonna do its regular update around 12 am EST (in 45 minutes), then 3 hours later is going to add The Hunting Party pre-order separately? Why would they do that?
  2. The OP needs to be updated to clarify that the guy on twitter is not "with" itunes.
  3. On the 6 track sampler that the press got to listen to, Until It's Gone was already mixed and mastered. So yeah.
  4. It hasn't been their best moment, I agree.
  5. So Derek over on LPA is very cryptically telling people that this tracklist is fake "because it isn't real." Has anyone over on this end heard anything from anyone? Mark?
  6. I've posted a bunch of rants about Mike's tirade against radio on LPA. I won't do that here, but I feel like his points are about 70% nonsense. And how are you going to call radio "Disney Commercial Music" when you WROTE THE THEME SONG FOR TRANSFORMERS 2. You know, one of the biggest most mainstream movie franchises of all time? People who live in castles of glass should not throw stones.
  7. I'm hoping that because this album looks like it's going to be very strong instrumentally, they don't feel the need to include a token interlude.
  8. March Of The Dead = Jornada del Muerto reference?
  9. I hope a price range gets leaked before the general on-sale. I'd like to make it to Bristow again but I dunno. HCT's price for the pit was about as high as I'm willing to go.
  10. The "new song" was definitely ALTNC. He mentioned it being "new for a Linkin Park show" and it'll "make you want to jump." As in Mike yelling "jump" a lot like he has done in past performances.
  11. This isn't exactly a confirmation. He guessed that because they usually do albums in 3-6 months, it'll be out in the same time frame. They aren't set on that. The LPL twitter kind of took the quote and ran.
  12. So what you're saying is...this jacket is holding up the new album.
  13. There is something oddly appealing about a hardstyle remix of Victimized. Other than that though, I feel extreme indifference.
  14. I'm not sure what interview you're referring to (edit: just saw you posted it). Aoki and Mike have tweeted at each other/posted group pictures a couple times over the past year. They've met up.
  15. Steve Aoki and Linkin Park have met up a couple times in the past year. It would just make sense, but there's nothing definite that says it's him.
  16. Holy shit. So, a new Linkin Park song is randomly coming soon, and it features a guest? That's different.
  17. I think the flip-side to including the DSPs on ticketmaster would be that ticketmaster would probably get a cut of the profits. If management already feels that the product isn't making enough money, the idea of cutting someone else in probably doesn't sound right. Yeah, the increased awareness would mean more people pay, but after ticketmaster takes their share, has it made enough of a difference?
  18. Apparently the band doesn't decide to do or not do them (Mike's tweet), which means it must be the label or someone affiliated. Of course they will make business decisions based on money. If people aren't paying for these things, they'll take them off the market. I'm pretty sure that's what's happened here.
  19. Exactly. I never said people didn't have a decent reason not to pay for multiple shows, but it is what it is. The band has always been up front that they play singles and well known songs at shows. That isn't really going to change. If people aren't going to buy DSPs because of that, then that's it. That's the end of the discussion.
  20. Let's be realistic, how many people are really willing to pay for DSPs that aren't for a show that they went to? I may sound cynical, but I don't think very many are. Most people only go to one show a tour. And out of those people, I'm sure a lot of them don't even know about the DSPs. And even if they did, they'd only buy the show they went to. The 20 LPL users (and that's a generous estimate) who might pay for multiple shows probably isn't enough to justify all the work I'm assuming goes into releasing DSPs. All I know is, whenever a show with something cool was released on DSP in the past, there'd be a ton of posts/tweets asking if and when it would be in the "usual place." That's part of the problem. We needed to pay for it. And it sucks for the people who DID pay for multiple shows, because they did their part. But I don't think enough people did.
  21. Damn, the live show was originally going to have moving video screens that played in front of the band members? That was an ambitious idea.
  22. Chicken Basket sounds like it belongs on the soundtrack for Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon Total 80s power sound.
  23. In a move that has caught seemingly everyone from the Linkin Park fanbase to the Stone Temple Pilot fanbase to music fans in general off guard, Chester joined the Stone Temple Pilots on stage at the 2013 KROQ Weenie Roast in Irvine, CA as the lead singer for the band. The band was the "surprise guest" of the show, similar to what Foo Fighters did to Linkin Park in 2011 at the show - showing up and playing unannounced as a surprise. A timed release of a brand new song "Out Of Time" to KROQ followed the performance, with STP issuing a press release and Chester even confirming that he hasn't left Linkin Park. KROQ.com adds: "If seeing is believing, the audience at Weenie Roast 2013 definitely left as believers in the power of music. The unbelievable magic of the night was doubly-amplified after all the amazing sets earlier when sonic swamis of alt-stadium rock, Stone Temple Pilots, brought Chester Bennington from Linkin Park out as a featured vocalist." SETLIST: 01. Vasoline 02. Big Bang Baby 03. Wicked Garden 04. Sex Type Thing 05. Out Of Time (Live Debut) 06. Interstate Love Song 07. Dead And Bloated 08. Trippin' On A Hole In A Paper Heart A few songs of the webcast can be found below. Hopefully more surfaces soon! They have debuted a new single "Out Of Time". Listen to the full song and even download a copy for yourself here. The STP website has been updated with a full press release by the band as well as pictures of the guys and Chester. "Chester has a one-of-a-kind voice that we’ve admired for a long time,” said guitarist Dean DeLeo. “We know Linkin Park will always be his priority, but we thought it would be cool to try something together. We managed to find the time to record a song and we’re all really happy with the result." "I’ve loved STP since I was 13 years old and they’ve had a huge influence on me," explained Bennington. "When the opportunity came up to do something creative with them, I jumped at the chance. The guys in Linkin Park have been incredibly supportive of me undertaking this project while I’ve continued to work on new music with LP."" Chester adds on Twitter: "Just played the first show with STP! It was fucking AMAZING!" "Check out our new song available for download free now at http://stonetemplepilots.com" "FYI, I will never leave LP. We are currently working on a new record and its awesome!" Tour dates for STP w/ Chester: 18.05.2013 Irvine, CA, Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre, KROQ Weenie Roast 19.05.2013 Mountain View, CA, Shoreline Amphitheatre, Live 105's BFD 2013 30.05.2013 Los Angeles, CA, Club Nokia, MusiCares MAP Fund Benefit Concert What do you think of Chester joining Stone Temple Pilots? EDIT: Chester will be on KROQ's Kevin & Bean Monday morning. Here is a video of the new song 'Out Of Time' live from the Weenie Roast show: Rolling Stone has posted a very positive review of the performance, which you can read in full here. "As the rotating stage turned around following a joyous set from Vampire Weekend, the opening notes of Stone Temple Pilots’ "Vasoline" filled the Verizon Wireless Ampitheater. On the drum riser, a man stood with his back to the audience until it came time to deliver the opening line, "One time a thing occurred to me." And with that, the venue exploded as Linkin Park frontman Chester Bennington turned and leaped into action, filling in on this night for the recently fired Scott Weiland." Edit: Chester has confirmed that he is now the lead singer of Stone Temple Pilots and Linkin Park. Also they are considering an album and tour. Video here. Source ChesterBNetwork.
  24. Like I said before, if HCT makes any mention of the pictures of Linkin Park being an April Fool's joke, I'm gonna piss on something they love. Maroon 5's latest album might be a good place to start.
  25. It might be Maroon 5 and the pictures are an April Fool's joke. I'd piss on something HCT loves if they do that.
