  1. Earlier today, the LPU Twitter posted: lpunderground: Who's excited for the LPU 8 newsletter? You should be. And you won't have to wait long to check it out. lpunderground: It might even have info about the much anticipated LPU 9 CD..... The newsletter has been released, check the LPU Newsletter page to read it! No links are allowed at all, by the way. Go read about the new package they're giving us! Excited about the CD?! Discuss!!
  2. Sick Puppies is a great band too you guys. Not very well known. Not nu-metal either, some good rock music like DBS. That's a great lineup if true.
  3. My love-hate thing with LP is how perfectionist they are. If they have a handful of amazing songs, and a dozen great ones, they could put an album out right now. But they choose to try and develop those songs with potential and see what happens with those. I love that they try to make every song great but it does contribute to the slow-moving process of LP album making. They could always put the best stuff out now, without throwing away the songs with potential.
  4. Do we know what time the show starts?
  5. And he's typically right unfortunately.
  6. From Chester's Twitter: ChesterBe@drdrew see u at loveline in Oct.I'll be in with my new band Dead By Sunrise. My wife, Talinda, says hi Cool. I love listening to Loveline so this just gives me all the more reason. lol
  7. Sort of Glorious Excess-y don't you think? The whole idea of how celebrities aren't real people and should only be what people want them to be? Lighten up.
  8. Gave me chills.
  9. Only song I'm not really in to is Crawl Back In. Compared to the other songs it sounds like it was made specifically to be the lead single. Too Late doesn't jump out at me either. The rest sound great. I want to call the entire album a pop-rock album but that doesn't sound quite accurate. A lot of punkish stuff and soft alternative too.
  10. Some really nice sounding songs on here.
  11. I remember Mike saying when they were asked to use a song for T2, all the stuff they had felt too "introverted" for a mainstream movie. Sounds dark to me.

    Inside Of Me!

I've seen you defend DBS a lot, and I usually agree with you in that I also love the music so far, but I also agree with anyone else who can find things they think are flaws in that music. If Chester doesn't care about what they think, you don't have to be his defense. It almost makes it sound like you're defending yourself because you like the music so much and you feel bad that other people aren't feeling it the same way. And for whoever you quoted, if you don't think all of the songs that have been released thus far can't be applied to just about anyone in the world you're being naive. That doesn't mean people can't appreciate the message anyway, which I do especially for Fire, so I agree that just saying BLARG THE LYRICS SUX is a bit childish. And I really do want to hear Give Me Your Name because it seems like there would be a lot of emotion in that song (and not all emotions are sad/angry, LP fans ) So this was my very long-winded way of saying there's no clear cut right or wrong here.

    Inside Of Me!

Well you have to keep in mind that all DBS tracks so far have Chester's voice layered at least twice, with one usually being a higher-pitched harmony. I think what you're hearing are the two vocal tracks sort of switching in and out, or one playing when the other isn't.

    What makes you say that?

    Inside Of Me!

It has a very made-for-rock-radio sound. Awesome to hear something we haven't already heard in some way already. Not sure how I feel about it yet but I definitely like it better than Crawl Back In, probably not as much as I like My Suffering.
  16. In that case, you did get my post and that's awesomely awesome.
  17. I love Fort Minor but, at least for now, it's dead. Every single time Mike is asked about it he talks about how in the past he didn't want to incorporate FM-type songs onto an LP record, but with MtM he became more confident about letting the two mix. It was said at least twice in the LPU chat. FM ideas = LP ideas. Because that's the case I really don't see Fort Minor even having a reason to exist anymore as far as Mike is concerned.
  18. I'm going to assume that the heavy comment was supposed to be referring to my post. If so you completely missed what I was saying. Linkin Park is heavier than DBS overall. Where did I was it was not heavy enough? You're assuming my standards for good music = HEAVY RAWK! Newsflash: They aren't. I like DBS, I'm just pointing out facts. I can like DBS and still point out what is good and what isn't about it.
  19. I agree with you. Linkin Park is definitely heavier than DBS overall. Chester's best description of this music was when he called it 80's pop/electro pop. That's really what it is, at least from what music has been released already. I can't wait to hear it. You guys that did are very lucky.
  20. I'm glad we'll get some acoustic versions. That's how Chester originally envisioned the songs, it's the closest thing to his original ideas.

    My Suffering!

I think that depends on what you mean. I do think the new LP album will be more electronic than the last ones. But Rick Rubin as a producer likes keeping the vocals and instrumentals as effect-free as possible. So probably just lots of cool keyboard sounds.

    My Suffering!

Allowed to say anything else about it?
  23. Xero21

    My Suffering!

I actually like this a lot better than Crawl Back In. Awesome that Chester just put the song out like that. I was one of the people that thought the change from the 08 version of the song to the 09 version was just unnecessary, but this is still good.
  24. Chester had dreads. o.O
  25. You're taking that too literally. Mike only said hardcore techno because the song is probably a very electronic rock song. That doesn't mean it's a song that's gonna be played at raves or anything.
