I think that i can confirm this. Megumi and Jim Digby are working with Stone Temple Pilots.

They are showing pictures from last night and tonight's shows.

I feel like Digby must be. He said earlier things had been quiet because he'd been working on it.

Ok checked Megumi's twitter and she might be involved too. Wouldn't STP have their own people?

Saw STP live in 2010 I think. Was not impressed at all and I doubt that one new member can change that for me even if it is Chester.

But I'm happy for him that he got the change to be part of a band who always inspired him. I remember him wearing a STP shirt at RaR 2001 ^^

Should be interesting to see how things work out in the future for LP with Chester joining another pretty big band.

LP's music doesn't cater to that kind of singing anymore.

I meant when he sings the old songs live. It's completely different compared to how he used to sing them. like Crawling, Somewhere i Belong and so many others. He started singing everything so clean it takes away the songs heaviness.

The Mountain View setlist was the same as the KROQ one:

01. Vasoline

02. Big Bang Baby

03. Wicked Garden

04. Sex Type Thing

05. Out Of Time (Live Debut)

06. Interstate Love Song

07. Dead And Bloated

08. Trippin' On A Hole In A Paper Heart

Yes, Digby and Megumi are working with them. And LP's chef they take on tour. So that's at least 3. The one that opened the new restaurant.

Because he has to singing on 20 songs and screaming on 15 of them when he is come to stage with LP.

Kind of cool to know that some of the LP crew are working with them. Makes me feel a bit better.

Ah c'mon it's obvious he's struggling these days. They had to re edit Crawling and New Divide from the Canberra 2010 show because of his voice. They spent quite a lot of time editing New Divide from the Transformers show in 2009 to air on TV too and a lot of work was done on his vocals.

Still though, his voice is really great. I think something happened to him while they were recording MTM, or around that time. Listen to the 2006 shows and see how great he sounds. After that he slowly started struggling a little with his voice. 2007 it's not that noticeable, 2008 it's slightly noticeable, 2009 it's getting there and by 2010 it's definitely noticeable. His screams aren't as long and overall his voice sounds a bit different to me. What do you think? I think Astat and I had this conversation before.....

I joined the STP forums because I saw them asking a few things about Chester....

Regardless, it's no secret that he loves the classic rock stuff haha. It'd be a dream come true if someday he did a project with like Slash, Duff McKagan, Dave Navarro, Matt Sorum, etc to write some new songs/cover some older hits by classic rock bands. His voice is just perfect for it.

Watch, he nails this shit and sounds like damn Robert Plant on it: (still my favorite live video of Chester ever)

About his voice, i think a important thing is "drugs"...

Remember that a big part of the Chester's insanity in the early years was thanks to the drugs. Just reading a couple of interviews from 2000 to 2004, and you will see a picture of that reality.

After his mayor problems with Samantha in 2005 he started a new life with Talinda. And a clean life, so, to me is important because now we have a "normal" Chester, with a "normal" voice, without being influenced with drugs, or rather altered.

Also guys, he is very young yet, but he is not 25, he is 37 now.

Am I the only one who doesn't like it? STP sounds good when you had a few beers in you or maybe a live show. Chester making commitment to them just feels like time taking away from Linkin Park. I'm thinking the LP album will have a delay in 2014. But hope Chester does great with it, like he said its all about fun.

Also I think Scott is doing shows in Casinos? Plus had a solo tour.

i just ask about it yesterday, why everybody said he getting older and he have problem with his voice?... i think people just taking it too far.

btw... anyone knows about yesterday setlist? I mean BFD show

Happy for Chester that he is now the lead singer for a band that he grew up listening to, however not really a fan of this type of music. Not sure how this will work out in the long run with Chester having to juggle both bands with writing, touring, etc.

On another note people can't honestly expect Chester's voice to sound like it did 10 years ago. All the screaming he does and just the way he sings generally on most songs I think would definitely have affected his voice in some way.

I think everyone should stop criticizing everything and just enjoy the music. Linkin Park is awesome. Dead By Sunrise is awesome. Fort Minor is awesome. Stone Temple Pilots is awesome. They are all good and more music is always better. This is a GOOD thing guys. Chester's voice is fine. Maybe he changed up his style a bit from earlier years or he can't scream like he once did, but he is a still a phenomenal vocalist and one of the best in the music industry today.
