They have the CDs from 5 onwards. They did a sale of a limited bundle of the 1-4 CDs last week but they sold out in a matter of minutes.

...Ryan's playing in these two videos consists of nothing but basic first position chords (Em, G, Am, C, D...I think that was about it) that every student guitarist learns within their first couple months of playing. I've also yet to hear any evidence that Ryan is anything more than an average guitar player. He played powerchords 80% of the time in DBS songs and left anything with even a moderate degree of difficulty to Amir (same goes for Julien-K's first album), and Orgy's guitar parts were always more about making interesting noises than actually playing guitar in a conventional manner. Amir is a different story, he's shown quite frequently that he's a pretty creative guitar player who comes up with a lot of interesting lead work, but Ryan's playing that I've seen over the years is about on par with most high school-aged kids who have been playing for a few years. On another note, this is the first time I have listened to any of Julien-K's material from their new album (which I only did because I was curious to see how Chester contributed to the live performances), and I think both of these songs could put me to sleep.

Debate: Reanimation is the best LP album to ever grace your ears.
Astat replied to Legend's topic in Everything Linkin Park
It varied a lot from song to song. LP oversaw the final mixing process and everything so they did have a final say (for example, look at how different PTS.OF.ATHRTY was from Jay Gordon's original demo - I know Brad in particular had a fair amount of input on that remix). Obviously a lot of the vocal parts were redone, and various instrumental aspects were re-recorded on certain songs too (BY_MYSLF got a new bassline from Phoenix, P5HNG ME A*WY got new guitar from both Mike and Brad, WTH>YOU got new guitar from Mike, etc.). Some songs like H! VLTG3 or X-Ecutioner Style were almost entirely done by the remixers, some of the tracks Mike and Joe remixed were almost entirely re-recorded from the ground up, and some others were more collaborative. -
The collector's market for LP stuff seems to have gone down a bit the last couple years actually, at least in terms of seeing REALLY ridiculous prices for auctions (save for the occasional new item we've never seen before, like the 8-track HT demo when that first popped up)...combined with some people being afraid to bid on stuff like this because they're worried about fakes, I wouldn't be surprised if it goes for less than $500. I'm going to make $375 my guess.

Debate: Reanimation is the best LP album to ever grace your ears.
Astat replied to Legend's topic in Everything Linkin Park
I felt the same way about Reanimation for a long time, and I do think it's stood up to the test of time (it'll be 10 years old in a few months!), but I think ATS ultimately surpassed it in terms of being a more complete body of work. I love pretty much all of Reanimation, save for H! Vltg3 being absolute garbage, and Enth e Nd being pretty lackluster (I also felt that X-Ecutioner Style was a fairly pointless track, but Black Thought's verse on it is sick, so it's forgivable). The standout tracks on Reanimation often stand head and shoulders above their Hybrid Theory counterparts if you ask me, but there are a couple big letdowns on there too. A Thousand Suns, on the other hand, doesn't have a single song on it that I don't like some of - I don't care for the first half of Blackout or the ending of Wretches and Kings, but the overall experience is one that I can listen to all the way through every single time, whereas I find myself skipping a couple songs on Reanimation. Don't get me wrong though, they're really close - if I were to rate ATS as a 10, Reanimation would be like a 9.5. -
The U.S. got more shows than any other country on the ATS touring cycle, as has been the case with every touring cycle prior to it. The U.S. is a country. Europe is a continent. Apples to oranges, yadda yadda yadda.

The BMI database entries for Slip and Blue are a little interesting too, Mark Wakefield is credited on Slip, but not Blue, and Phoenix is credited on both songs, despite him leaving the band prior to Chester joining (although that may just be a result of LP crediting all current band members on new music releases these days). I have a feeling both of those songs were started prior to Chester joining, with Blue being from the short period where the band didn't have a singer between Mark leaving and Chester joining.
-
As far as I know, all of the Sessions@AOL tracks saw official release in one form or another, but there was never an iTunes EP with all 6 of them in the same place.
-
Chester got the call from Jeff Blue offering him the audition with Xero on his 23rd birthday, which was in 1999. The dates on the LPU11 demos are probably wrong, unless they were recorded prior to Chester joining the band and he just added his vocals to them later on.

It could also be because... A. They burned all their bridges within the music industry because of their unreliability (see: The Unquestionable Truth Part 2, DJ Lethal's solo album, etc.), bad attitude, and even worse business practices, or... B. They're broke because nobody gives a crap about Limp Bizkit anymore, thanks to years of sub-par musical output, a long hiatus that involved Fred Durst becoming a borderline hermit, and Wes Borland leaving and returning to the band on a seemingly annual basis.
-
If Lethal had actually released his solo album at some point within the last 10 years (it's been "coming soon" for that long, after all), his argument might hold some water. Until that happens, I'm gonna go ahead and assume that he's just making up excuses for his own laziness/incompetence/failure to live up to expectations for whatever reason. A label shooting down one song isn't going to cause an entire album to get canned (We Made It got cut from Busta Rhymes' album due to label issues, but the album still came out).

Wretches & Kings Remix by Scoop Deville
Astat replied to itworkedforkurt's topic in Everything Linkin Park
It's exactly the same remix. It's pretty obvious that whoever uploaded it on Youtube just cut the intro off for whatever reason, they did a really crappy job of it. Also, this came out way more than "a few months ago," try nearly a year: http://www.somekindofawesome.com/journal/2...usy-commit.html -
Nice! Noteworthy that it's a "Renholder" remix - Renholder is the remixing handle of Danny Lohner, known for his work with Nine Inch Nails. Also interesting that Justin Lassen is appearing on this soundtrack. He actually did a couple really good LP fan remixes a number of years ago - cool to see the two of them on the same film soundtrack all these years later!

LP doing a one-off song on their own for something like this wouldn't have a big impact. The whole reason they did stuff like Not Alone and Issho Ni was because they had a bunch of other artists pooling material together for Download to Donate. Unless they can drum up a bunch of support for Power the World from other bands, there probably isn't going to be a big enough audience for something like this to work the way it should. The next new Linkin Park music we're going to hear will most likely be the first single from the next album.
-
This pleases me. OOA was a very solid album overall, and I was hoping that Chester wasn't just being optimistic in saying "DBS won't just be a one-time thing." I'm open to the idea of it sounding a lot different, but I definitely don't want it to sound like Julien-K with Chester singing, as someone else suggested. If it's going to sound like Julien-K, it should be on a Julien-K album. Have Chester do a guest appearance on some future Julien-K material if necessary, but don't make DBS sound like the same band. And I think I've said this numerous times before, but if DBS needs a new bass player, I'm available.

Linkin Park confirmed Rock am Ring / Rock im Park 2012
Astat replied to tschenneck's topic in Newswire
Because a third party like the Rock Am Ring promoters totally have control over when Linkin Park releases an album. Not like the band, producer, record label, etc. have any input on that or anything... -
Yup. The 9-track demo versions of Carousel and Part of Me would have been the "final" versions, I'd imagine the "final" version of And One would have been similar to the live version they played in 2000-2001, although a studio version of that likely doesn't exist, since they just reused the HTEP version on the demo CD. It's kind of hard to say what tracks are and aren't HT b-sides, as we don't know which of LP's early demos were in consideration for release on HT. It's pretty safe to assume that all of the HTEP songs (minus Technique) were in the running, but the only "true" HT b-side (as in a track that was recorded during the final sessions for the album) we have to this day is still the re-recorded version of High Voltage.

...How the hell does Blue have more votes than Soundtrack?
-
Sorry for the double post, but found a new one: The vocal sample from the beginning of Joe's DJ solo on the Projekt Revolution 2002 tour ("We don't wanna be left behind/all we want to do is just blow your mind") comes from the song "Back Up Off Me!" by Dr. Dre and Ed Lover (feat. T-Money) - (at the 2:24 mark)
-
Great idea, except the cost of multitracks would likely be way above and beyond what you're suggesting. I wouldn't be surprised at all if you'd have to pay well over $150 just to buy the multitracks to one song. Considering the cost of professionally mastering a recording is usually in the neighborhood of $500 per song...yeah.

You know what? Consider yourself lucky that I'm not staff here anymore. I swear to fucking God, there should be an auto-ban rule for bitching about shit like this. Fuck off.
-
No. For starters, Grecian is in 6/8 time, ASP is in 4/4.
-
It really is a great idea, and with the band (particularly Mike) being so supportive of the idea of fan remixes, I can see this type of thing being something they'd support. Nine Inch Nails has an entire website dedicated to providing multitracks and sharing remixes that are subsequently made using them, I think LP would be a prime candidate for a similar concept (whether as part of the LPU or otherwise). Sadly, I doubt it will happen as long as they're signed to Warner, but maybe at some point down the road they'll be a "free agent" band like NIN/Radiohead/Metallica and essentially be able to do whatever they want.
-
Sad to hear that Elias is going to be out of the picture for quite a while (if not permanently), as he's an incredibly talented drummer/musician in geneal, but it's refreshing to see a band putting a situation like this in such a positive light. The Julien-K guys really seem to have their heads in the right place.
