  1. That type of transcription probably makes more sense for ATS anyway, since the instrumental portion of the album is a collage of all kinds of random stuff. The guitar/bass pop in and out so randomly that a full tab transcription would probably make the book more bloated than it needs to be, since there would be a crapload of full-measure rests in a lot of songs. Or maybe they just finally gave up and realized that I do guitar tabs better than anybody they've paid to do transcriptions for them. Yeah, I'll go with that.
  2. Most definitely not...I think I've posted a rant about the quality of "official" songbooks before, lol. I guarantee bass will be in there. "Guitar" in transcription terms usually includes any stringed instrument that isn't played with a bow.
  3. Brad mentioned in the recent LPU chat that he was looking forward to debuting Robot Boy "in a special setting" or something to that effect. With that in mind, the only thing I can think of that makes any sense is that they'll be doing ATS all the way through when they play in Tokyo. I'd be shocked if it was anything different. The DVD idea makes no sense whatsoever, they wouldn't have a title ready before they even play the show that they're recording, and they probably wouldn't inform people of where it was being filmed ahead of time either.
  4. I've thought about posting a thread like that in the past, but I always thought it'd be really narcissistic to do so.
  5. Those were pretty simple with the method of censorship they used on LPU 4.0, they just reversed the swear words and stuck them back in the mix, lol. Unfortunately they haven't really used that method on anything else.
  6. Robot Boy instrumental = totally identical to the instrumental version on the ATS + DVD, which is identical to the album version. And assuming you're talking about the acoustic version of BITS, there's no significance to that whatsoever, as that's just how the band warms up backstage these days. They have a couple acoustic guitars and a keyboard in their dressing room, and if they feel like they need to run through anything before hitting the stage, that's how they do it. There's footage of them playing Iridescent the same way on one of the LPUTV episodes. The little distorted clip from 1:44 to 1:46? That's not a "song," lol. It's just a random distorted audio clip, they use those all the time in LPTV. LP may not have even created that themselves.
  7. Nope. Warner purposely did not want any swearing on LP's releases for quite a while (Collision Course was the release that finally broke that trend). There's no uncensored Reanimation or Live in Texas either.
  8. LPU 2.5 definitely wasn't released by EMI, lol. That's just a bootlegger's poor effort at making it appear more authentic. There are fake LPU 3.5 and 4.5 bootlegs as well.
  9. Cue endless bitching over intentionally vague descriptions of music being written for an album that's nowhere close to being done yet. Mike, Phoenix, and Chester all play guitar too, and Brad's "not playing a lot of guitar" description of ATS wasn't particularly accurate, as his guitar work is pretty prominent in numerous songs on that album (BITS, WFTE, Iridescent, The Messenger). When it comes time to track the final versions of songs, Brad also always ends up playing a lot of stuff that Mike wrote/played on the earlier demos (Mike has always contributed to writing guitar parts for LP songs, but didn't actually record any guitar on Hybrid Theory or Meteora). I doubt he's taking that into account when saying he isn't playing a lot of guitar during the writing process. And this is irrelevant anyway, as the band is still writing new material all the time. Mike could walk into NRG next week with half a dozen new demos that are all guitar-heavy. Everything is subject to change at this point. FYI, this is nothing new. During the writing process for Minutes to Midnight, Brad didn't even pick up a guitar until a couple months into the process - all of his early ideas were written on keys (including Song Q/Hands Held High).
  10. Who says Mike isn't playing a bunch of guitar?
  11. That's Lars Ulrich from Metallica, paying LP back for a prank they pulled during Metallica's set earlier in the tour.
  12. Yeah, he's still just using Stingrays and P-basses. And Phoenix on the ending of WID is the only backing vocal addition they've done to any pre-ATS songs...so far anyway. That's a Japanese family crest symbol of some type...I forget what it specifically means, but it's found in both the Reanimation and Rising Tied artwork.
  13. I must have missed this, I honestly don't remember anything like that happening.
  14. It looks like the only song on the final Resada Beach tracklisting that Mike produced is Second II None. He also produced an unreleased track called "Dumb it Down" for SOB, I'm thinking "Shut it Down" might be a reworked version of it, but no way of being sure. He also produced You Cannot Fuck With This and the remix of Hard on the Razor Tag mixtape, as well as contributing vocals to Hey You.

    Fall DSP's

I'm sure there will be a Pensacola DSP, they just announced the show yesterday so they probably don't have that information finalized yet. There definitely won't be DSPs for the 2 shows at the end of August though. There wasn't one for the Vegas show at the same venue in '07, and there's no point in going to the trouble of doing a DSP for the secret show when there will only be a few hundred people in attendance.
  16. The right hand plays E and F# together the entire time (creating that semi-dissonant minor 7th interval). The left hand plays F#-F#-A-E several times, and on the last repeat it plays D-D-E-E.
  17. The Whiskey now has a show booked for the 31st as well, so it looks like the Troubador is the most likely location.
  18. How would LP/JZ work again? Hopefully it wouldn't. *Ba-dum TSH*
  19. K, Blackout is done, sent you a PM with a download link. I should hopefully be able to get Iridescent done tomorrow.
  20. Yeah, Hybrid Theory totally played A.06 and Lying From You live 3 years before they were written.
  21. I'll have to get mine done this weekend, I meant to do it this week but we have some company staying with us, which makes me really self-conscious about recording vocals.
  22. No way of knowing what the specific brand is, but it's probably some kind of chloraseptic throat spray. A lot of singers specifically use peppermint-flavored throat spray, because peppermint naturally relaxes your throat muscles and opens up your sinus cavities a bit, making it easier to sing.
  23. Deena Noroian - One Step Closer (officially released on her "No Alternative" album) Richard Cheese - One Step Closer (officially released on his "Tuxicity" album) ApologetiX - Corinthians (parody of In the End, this was officially released, but I forget what album it was on originally. It can be found on their "AplogetiX Classics: 2000's" compilation though) Silent System - In the End
  24. I really don't hear anything that sounds remotely vocal-like there.
  25. Not sure what voices you're referring to, the only vocal-ish thing I'm aware of in that song is the whirring noise at the end of the track, which is apparently a slowed-down and extremely edited sample of Chester screaming.
