  1. I don't really consider that rapping. Freestyle, yes. But it sounded more metalcore to me.
  2. Based off this review, this album sounds interesting. I get what everyone is saying about how it will divide the fan base. Like every album, it will do just that. Just looking at the posts in this form, it already has. I'll admit, if this review proves to be accurate, there are some things I'm looking forward to hearing and some things I'm iffy about. One thing that doesn't sit well with me is it being described as a Fort Minor album featuring Linkin Park. It makes me think that Mike wrote the entire record and the rest of the guys sat back and approved or disapproved what he was writing. I'm sure however that isn't the case but seeing that makes me think it could have been possible. I'm not one to judge before hearing an album, but this album could very well be LP's St. Anger moment, their finest hour, or an album that is good but not their best work. I'm incline to think the middle but I could very well be wrong. I've heard countless album's that have either been a group's best or their worst. We'll just have to wait until September 14 to make our own conclusions.
  3. Highly doubt that. MTV hasn't done that show in years. It's all reality TV now. Anyway, the pics look great. The video should be interesting.
  4. Cool. They look like a band of superheroes by the way their running in the first pic. The backdrop in the third pic makes it look like Mike and Chester are on Mars.
  5. The album version and 2006 remix were both very cool. I'd have to go with remix by a hair.
  6. Actually that's the vocal part that's layered underneath the first "God bless us everyone" part at the end.
  7. Great episode. I honestly didn't think we'd see any "in studio" footage until after ATS was released. I think these last few LPTV episodes have shown the most in depth footage of the band recording an album than all the "making of" DVDS combined.
  8. Smile Empty Soul - "Bottom Of A Bottle" Cold - "Stupid Girl" The Hives - "Hate To Say I Told You So" Default - "Wasting My Time"
  9. I don't really see them trying to squeeze in an Asia or Australia tour before the holidays. As for US dates, I can definitely see them doing a full U.S. tour at the top of the year. There's no way their not gonna tour the U.S. until next summer.
  10. After many listens, I personally like the song. I will stand by my statement of saying it does sound like a remix in and of its own. But that's what makes it so much different from any previous LP material. It weaves in and out of the electronic and synth jungles to bring together a fresh sound that has been presented before from LP while still keeping to their identity and recognition. Now on to the biggest question. Why choose a song like The Catalyst for the first single? IMO it represents all the possible underlining themes (beautiful, dark, new) that went into the making of this record. That and its also a great example of what Chester said when they were going to be taking the best things about HT and MTM and marrying them together. The first half of the song is shining proof of the experimentation of MTM while the second half and vocal exchange of Mike and Chester harkens back to the older days of HT. Its not my character to judge the quality of an album from a single track but from the looks of The Catalyst, I think its safe to say that ATS will be an album creates a new generation of fans and at the same time pleasing those of have stuck with the band from day one.
  11. Wrong. It means Tits, Boobs, Ass.
  12. I can see this happening. The main show being the entire ATS album and the encores consisting of past material.
  13. Really liking the previews. Can't wait for the full song. I will say I'm am a bit iffy about sample drum beat. It kind of stomps on the vocals a but in IMO. Also maybe its just me but it kind of feels like the song sounds like a remix in and of itself. Probably because its something we're not use to hearing from LP, which makes it all the more special.
  14. That's what I was leaning toward. I figure the opening and closing tracks will be an intro and outro instrumental piece. But hell either way 15 tracks is asking for more than enough.
  15. Great episode. By far the most in depth look into the writing process of any of their records I've seen.
  16. You think that's bad. How about Iron Maiden's Dance of Death album cover? Was so bad the artist didn't want to take credit for it.
  17. 311 Alice In Chains Stone Temple Pilots The Offspring Rise Against Disturbed Avenged Sevenfold Three Days Grace Breaking Benjamin Chevelle Papa Roach Skillet Third Eye Blind
  18. I don't think we'll see any "in the studio" footage until after ATS is released. At least any that reveals anything. All of that will be on the making of DVD.
  19. 6 rock tracks and 6 experimental tracks. Perhaps this is what Chester meant when he said they were taking the best parts of HT and MTM and bringing them together. Rock tracks = HT influence Expermental tracks = MTM influence
  20. LP playing more of the singles and songs that the average listeners recognize is a casual thing amongst a lot of bands. Take Skillet for example. The band has had a career that's spanned 15 years with eight albums. But more recently over the last year they've only been playing material from their recent two albums (Comatose and Awake). Reason being is that they didn't start gaining mainstream attention until Comatose, and further brought themselves into the public eye with Awake. A good chunk of those people who now know and are fans of Skillet only know of these two albums and are unaware that the band has a long history. That is why their shows mainly consist of material from these albums. The band's guitarist/keyboardist Korey Cooper pointed this out in an interview awhile ago and said along the lines of: "We don't want to pull a lot of old material out because it might not register well with the audience. They're there waiting to hear Rebirthing and The Last Night. Like I said its a very casual thing with bands. The more singles that are put out, the less will hear the favorites. Like you guys said before, LP don't want their regular fans going to their shows and hearing songs they won't recognize from the radio.
  21. I zoomed in...I can see something...it's a bird...it's a plane...no, it's...it's...SYMPHONIES OF BLINDING LIGHT!!! AHHH!!
