  1. I was hoping they'd work with Brendan O'Brien this go around and if they were looking to make a heavy album than with Johnny K. Rubin is a great producer with a long resume and has had a strong hand in helping LP evolve. RHCP have been working with Rubin since Blood, Sugar, Sex Magik and while he haven't changed them dramatically, he's helped them produce some great records.
  2. Someone should get Nick Diaz to tell him: "Don't be scared, homie." LOL
  3. That should be cool. Would really like to see a more "aggressive" setlist this go around.
  4. Hopefully that ends up happening. It's puzzling that they're not going hit up any markets during the Summer though. Sometimes I keep forgetting LP is still touring for ATS. It seems like it's been ages since they last did a show.
  5. Agreed. But the issue isn't just pop radio in general. It's all radio stations as well. Take for instance DC101. A rock station in Washington DC who's slogan is "We Rock The Nation", yet their playlist is filled with a heavy rotation of such groups as Mumford & Sons, Phoenix, and MGMT. Seriously, since when has MGMT ever romately been considered a rock band??? It's very irriating how much airplay these groups get over the occasional playing of Three Days Grace, Seether, Breaking Benjamin, The Offspring, Avenged Sevenfold, Godsmack, etc. You know, bands that acually "ROCK THE NATION".
  6. 1. I've been living in the real world. 2. I've been to / heard of / seen / MMA since 2004/2005. 3. This isn't something new, yes. I just think a six year old song being used to promote a headlining fight at the biggest MMA sporting event ever in April still makes it relevant. 4. MMA fights are not staged. They are very real.
  7. Fort Minor's Remember The Name was used for the trailer promoting next month's mixed martial arts fight between UFC Welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre and Jake Shields. UFC 129: St-Pierre vs Shields Trailer
  8. Anxious to see what they do for the rest of the summer following the Euro tour. The 2nd leg just seems very odd for some reason. They're going to take a 3 months layoff, then play shows in Europe for a couple of weeks, and then take another 2 months off until the possible tour in Asia? Just don't see why they're going to miss out on the U.S. summer markets or not even tour the U.S. again on the ATS tour cycle for that matter.
  9. Here's a big question. Much like Billy Corgan is doing with TSP, do you all think LP could continue on with just Mike and a different group of musicians?
  10. Yeah. As I said before in another thread, it's a common thing for one or two people in a band consisting of five or more to write the majority of the music. Billy Corgan is the perfect example of this. And hell, Jasen Rauch, who's the main writer for Red, wrote all of they're new album and he isn't even in the band anymore.
  11. I think what he means is that he felt the album, for the most part, was written by Mike alone. Something that I firmly believe is true. It isn't unusual though for a band to have one person who writes the music and the rest play/record what he's written. In fact it's very common. Carl Bell wrote all of Fuel's music, Billy Corgan writes all of Smashing Pumpkin's music, John Cooper writes all of Skillet's music, Jasen Rauch writes all of Red's music, and it's rumored that Ben Burnley writes all the Breaking Benjamin music.
  12. I think I have a favorite moment of the year. Just thankful for LP to still be around and relevant in 2010 and now 2011.
  13. If you look at it, the singles from this record are kind of following the same trend as the ones from MTM. The Catalyst / What I've Done Waiting For The End / Bleed It Out Burning In The Skies / Shadow Of The Day Wretches And Kings / Given Up Iridescent / Leave Out All The Rest
  14. As long as they remain consistent with album sales, hit singles, and sold out tours, they won't go away.
  15. If Wretches And Kings follows Iridescent, than I guess that means Burning In The Skies will be the fifth single? Or maybe there won't be a 5th single.
  16. I like all LP tracks, but my least favorites would have to be the more hip-hop induced tracks (High Voltage, Nobody's Listening, etc). The only exception for me is probably Step Up.
  17. Still one of my favorite hip-hop albums despite not haven listened to it in 3 years. I connected most to The Hard Way. Great lyrics and music.
  18. Hitting up the Los Angeles show for sure.
  19. I'm still waiting for a Linkin Park and 311 co-headline tour. They should combine their tours and call it Projekt Unity or Unity Revolution. Would be one of the dopest tours ever.
  20. I'm actually originally from the Woodbridge area. The only other place they'd most likely play is the Hampton Coliseum down in Norfolk. But more likely if they are to roll through DC or VA, they'd most likely play at either the Patriot Center or the Verizon Center. My bet would be the Patriot Center.
  21. Not too worried about CA shows, seeing as they usual do 2-4 CA shows per North American tour.
  22. Been listening to LPUX for a little while now, and while I am appreciative of the tracks LP has given, I have to say I can't connect to the majority of them. The instrumentals are fine, but it's the repetitiveness of them that keeps me from liking them more than I want to. I have to say though that What We Don't Know is definitely a gem and is this year's Across The Line. Like someone said previously, I think it would have been a hit single had it been added to MTM.
