Any idea when Mike changed his twitter picture? It has the same forms to it and if you invert the colors you get similar colors. Or well, maybe I am reading way too much into this :-D
Material for demoing TVs in stores or presentations. Also I think 4k tv owners get a message about it when they start their TV so they will probably watch it to see their TV in action and afterwards they will tell their friends how awesome their TV is and what awesome stuff Samsung is doing. (kinda like adds for cars work)
Just because the order is wrong doesn't mean the titles and years are fake. I'm waiting for a better source until I believe it myself but I just wanted to point that out.
4k is 4 times the resolution of 1080p. It's twice at much in every axis so 1920x2x1080x2 which is 1920x1080x4. If you double the length and height of your tv it's 4 times as big. That's the same.
Also who can't see the difference? Even my grandma sees it. Blu Ray (or any HD content) is a huge upgrade to DVDs.
In theory every resolution can be streamed. Streaming 4k content doesn't make sense though since pretty much no one owns a 4k display and it would create a shitload of unnecessary traffic (people will always try to stream in the best quality available, no matter if it makes a difference for them). I guess the 4k recording is only for a Blu Ray release in the future. 4k Blu Ray disks and players are expected to be released in one year. I also think the stream will be capped at 720p so people will buy the Blu Ray for a quality upgrade. So basically I think it will be like this:
Stream - 720p
Blu Ray - 1080p
4k Blu Ray whenever it will be available
and of course a DVD release.
Another possibility is that Samsung bundles the 4k version with a HDD that can be used on Samsung TVs. They do this since it is pretty much the only way to deliver 4k content to 4k TVs right now besides streaming services like Netflix.
So that means we will finally get a Blu Ray release (besides the RTR Blu Ray which was released months later). About time.
Now they need to add some bonus content and I will be happy
3D? Where's that information coming from?
It is not a sample though. A sample is cut out from the original and put into the new song. The part in the song just sounds like BTH because the notes progress in a similar way. Definitely not a sample.
While I all believe that they are tech savvy the latency is a technical restriction of capactitive touchscreens (which are used in pretty much every smartphone and tablet). The "normal" APIs you have to program these devices have already a latency of ~300 ms. The 80 ms delay is already when used on the lowest level and without switching out the hardware itself (which is pretty much impossible on apple devices or tablets/smartphones in general) you can't lower it.
To be precise: the latency is not about the software recognizing the input as an actual input. It is the time the touchscreen needs to process the input and send it over to the operating system. I don't think that any tweaks can lower it.
This is kinda offtopic but I guess it fits here the best:
I am by no means an expert when it comes to live music but don't you want to avoid as much latency as possible in a live environment? How come using iPads is working for them? Especially for triggering samples like Joe does. The input lag on the latest iPad generation is about 80ms. Isn't that way too much in order to be on point?
From the interview that's on the last page I get the impression that Horizons was written/recorded after the first batch of songs they recorded. But I don't think that it's a confirmation.
Ha, so if you don't know it I guess no one knows it :-D
Did really no one wondered, for the last 10 years, where the song came from and what it was supposed to be for? I don't think they just were in the studio and thought "hey let's produce another track, just for the fun of doing it" only to release it two years later on a LPU CD.
Yeah I know that there is always some loss on the way since these organizations also have to pay their staff and all the things to keep it going. But Chideo is just a fundraiser platform. It's not a charity organization, so comparing those numbers is a bit weird in my opinion. Also like you said, the charity that gets the money from Chideo still has to cover their own costs which will reduce the amount of money that goes to the problem. Adding a middleman whose only intention it is to make money is just a very bad practice in my opinion.
Well one of my thoughts is that some members of LP are involved with Chideo and have a financial interest in it. I honestly see no other reason why they should use it otherwise.
