I am wondering how many copies of one show they have to sell in order to get at least even. That's probably pretty much the number we have to reach for any chance at all.

Sorry guys, but it's Wastelands. -
Oh, I think I discovered the (unfinished) site a while ago and thought it was an old version. Let's hope for something new. Edit: checked it again. it was another version.

Linkin Park to collaborate with Riot Games?
Coizu replied to wesleylpbr's topic in Everything Linkin Park
Since I am following the e-sport scene of league pretty closely I think I can add some more details and information to this: First of all the World Championships is a fucking huge event every year that stretches over a month with a huge final at the end of it all. They started hiring artists to do some music and performance for it since 2013 I believe. 2012 only had a orchestra if I remember correctly. So 2013 had Wes Borland of Limp Bizkit, The Crystal Method and some other artists I am not familiar with. Awesome performance in the sold out Staples Center. You can watch it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=39k9tnIjAegStill getting goosebumps whenever I am watching it. Maybe a bit more background: The Wes Borland part was specifically written for Worlds while the Crystal Method part was written for a champion that got released in the game. Every new champion that gets added to the game has it's own soundtrack and The Crystal Method did the music for the champion Lucian. In 2014 they teamed up with Imagine Dragons and created the song Warriors which was also kind of a mainstream success as far as I know (at least I heard it in the radio a few times): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fmI_Ndrxy14 They also performed the song at the opening show of the Finals last year in South Korea (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=36dx0wpLtmU) and a small set after the games have finished ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GJOW2IyxDtU ). So I don't expect Riot Games to go any smaller than last year. Sadly it's already confirmed that LP won't perform at worlds by Riot Magus (who is pretty much the head of the esports department at Riot Games) on Reddit: https://www.reddit.com/r/leagueoflegends/comments/3gs0lw/linkin_park_to_preform_at_world_finals/cu14hq0 What does that mean though? Well first of all it's just a confirmation that LP won't perform at worlds which still leaves us with the possibility of some kind of MS/FM collaboration with Riot Games. But there is still the LP show the next day, right? Well first of all Riot Games is throwing so much money at Worlds that they would definitely pay enough for someone to consider doing two shows in 24 hours around the globe. Also worlds starts at around 1pm, so the opening ceremony should be done at 2pm and if you add the difference in time zones there would be at least 36h between the shows. On the other side maybe it has nothing to do with the World Championships. Like mentioned before The Crystal Method did the soundtrack for a new champion. But that's not the only time they took known artists to work on something for the game. In League Of Legends you can also buy skins for champions (basically just a difference appearance for a champion ingame). There are different tiers of these skins and the most expensive tier is some really high quality shit. This year they released a skin for a champion called Sona which was designed around a DJ concept (http://promo.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/dj-sona/). They hired 6 more or lesser known to create songs for that skin: 1. The Crystal Method & Dada Life: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uHJyAZtRrOY 2. Bassnectar & Renholder: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zX7UWavbT5g 3. Nosaj Thing & Pretty Lights: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cxa1Y71Lgyg So there is also a chance that Riot Games and LP are teaming up for creating the soundtrack for a new champion or a new skin. If you have any questions feel free to ask. If anyone got interested in watching competitive League you can contact me directly Update (7.9.15): At one of the last LPL (coincidence? xD) games for Worlds qualification they flashed a promo picture from the MTM era and wrote something like "You guessed it?". Since LPL is the official Chinese LoL league the text was in Mandarin and there are a dozen of translations floating around but I think that one makes the most sense. That seems to be too random to just appear at an official stream if there isn't something going on. After that RiotMagus confirmed again that LP won't perform at Worlds (no surprise though) but maybe there is something coming. They released Warriors about a month before Worlds started, so if they keep the same schedule for this year we could hear something new in the next 10 days. -
Best thing you can do if you don't have any questions is to make sure you have a reddit account and upvote the questions you think are good! I think that's even more important than posting good questions
-
The best way to get harsher questions answered is to post numerous question in a single post and give him some lighter questions which he would be glad to answer. But don't make 10 question posts. No one likes them :-D I hope Mike won't just go through the first level posts but also takes a look at some follow ups to his questions. Makes AMAs always way better.

Because it's impossible to start the backing tracks in a different order?

I am looking for a FOH ticket for this show. Please PM if you have a ticket left or know someone who needs to get rid of one
-
Finally. I was waiting for a reddit AMA for years. This is a pretty good chance for us to get some good questions answered. I think we should prepare some questions so we can post them as soon as the AMA starts so they get a few more upvotes. Also other reddit useres always ask good questions that fans somehow don't come up with and stupid questions like "when do you come to my country" get downvoted like shit.

That makes no sense. The concert would be in the middle of the night then. -

When was the last time we didn't get a webcast recorded?
-
I don't think so. The time when people were most hyped for it was years ago when we didn't knew about any other HT demos. Also a lot of people realized that it's probably a mediocre demo anyway so the hype isn't worth it. I just want to get it so we are done with it. I don't have any expectations at all anymore.

Ok here are my yearly countings: 2000 (only LP): 90 2001: 165 (Seems we're one off here) 2002: 21 2003: 85 2004: 77 2005: 2 2006: 5 2007: 88 2008: 74 2009: 19 2010: 34 (including rehearsal) 2011: 55 (including rehearsal) 2012: 57 (including rehearsal) 2013: 18 2014: 66 2015: 28

Uncanceled shows listed as Linkin Park (first show http://lplive.net/shows/db/2000andearlier/20000609): 884 @AndOne I grabbed all shows that are listed. So if I am missing one it is most probably missing in the list.
-
I did all the statistics by scrapping the data from the year pages. So I counted every show that is listed on that pages. Also the venues is something that can't be done automatically since names change and someone would have to match them all by hand all the time. And I agree, we are probably missing a shitload of shows so the actual 1000th show probably already happened. Nevertheless I guess it's a cool thing to know when the 1000th show gets listed on LPL. If someone is interested on how I fetched the data, it's on my github account (https://github.com/t-sauer/lpl-scrapper/). I plan on expanding it in the upcoming days and weeks.
-
I just grabbed the shows from the year pages and if it was written in red my scrip classified it as canceled. For the amount of shows per venue: I am doing this automated with scripts so there is no way to know which venue names belong together.
-
Actually this is quite fun. I guess I have a new hobby :-D Here's the amount of shows over time: https://i.imgur.com/Tqv4hMl.png You can clearly see how their touring schedule went down after the MtM cycle was over.

Okay here are some new numbers! First of all out of the 988 shows we know of 91 got canceled. That means Tempe is the 897th show we know of. I guess it will take quite some time until we actually see the 1000th show. Some more details about the canceled shows (sadly I can't post tables so it gets a bit ugly): Canceled shows per country: United States: 59 Canada: 4 Germany: 4 China: 3 Sweden: 3 Brazil: 2 Denmark: 2 Spain: 2 Czech Republic, France, Italy, Macau, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Switzerland, Taiwan, Turkey and the United Kingdom all have one canceled show. We also have some unlucky cities: Inglewood, CA and North Little Rock, AR both got 3 canceled shows while we have 11 more cities listed that have two canceled shows. Back to the shows we actually saw, with a toplist of shows per country: United States: 556 Germany: 59 United Kingdom: 48 Japan: 30 Australia: 29 Canada: 23 France: 14 Austria: 10 Russia: 9 Brazil: 8 I think most of these numbers aren't actually surprising for most people. What is a bit more surprising (at least for me) is what happens when we take a look at the numbers of shows per city: London, ENG: 22 Las Vegas, NV: 18 Los Angeles, CA: 18 West Hollywood, CA: 17 North Hollywood, CA: 15 New York City, NY: 14 Dallas, TX: 13 Phoenix, AZ: 12 Atlanta, GA: 10 Berlin, BE: 10 Paris, FR: 10 Columbus, OH: 9 Philadelphia, PA: 9 Toronto, ON: 9 Manchester, ENG: 8 Bristow, VA: 7 Camden, NJ: 7 Chiba, JP: 7 Hamburg, HH: 7 Köln, NW: 7 I somehow didn't expect London to be on the first place and the next non US country to be at the 10th place. The last thing I have right now is the amount of times they played in a certain venue: Third Encore: North Hollywood, CA: 15 Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion: Woodlands, TX: 6 O2 Arena: London, ENG: 6 PNC Bank Arts Center: Holmdel, NJ: 6 Rod Laver Arena: Melbourne, VIC: 6 Shoreline Amphitheatre: Mountain View, CA: 6 The Joint @ Hard Rock Hotel: Las Vegas, NV: 6 Nürburgring: Adenau, RP: 5 Palais Omnisports de Paris-Bercy: Paris, FR: 5 The Roxy Theatre: West Hollywood, CA: 5 Verizon Wireless Music Center: Noblesville, IN: 5 Blossom Music Center: Cuyahoga Falls, OH: 4 Donington Park: Castle Donington, ENG: 4 DTE Energy Music Centre: Clarkston, MI: 4 E Center: West Valley City, UT: 4 Hallenstadion: Zürich, ZH: 4 Makuhari Messe: Chiba, JP: 4 Manchester Apollo: Manchester, ENG: 4 Nikon at Jones Beach Theater: Wantagh, NY: 4 Nissan Pavilion @ Stone Ridge: Bristow, VA: 4 That's it for now. If you have any idea or wishes what type of statistics/numbers you want to see just post them here and I will see if there is something I can do
-
I guess we had some miscommunication here. I included all shows that are listed under the navigation point "Linkin Park". So it includes all Xero/HT shows. It also includes all canceled dates. I guess I can grab some better numbers tomorrow if you tell me what you are interested in. Also be prepared for some more in-depth stats in the upcoming days/weeks

Fort Minor announces Copenhagen and Berlin shows

LP show in Berlin, Fort Minor show in Berlin... Seems like I have to try to get a few days off of work so I can go there. Hopefully there are some tickets left until I know if I can make it. -

Who was mixing the show? And who was his crew? A part of the LP crew? -
While AMG is a subsidiary of Daimler AG it is not Mercedes Benz. Mercedes Benz is another part of the Daimler AG and AMG is just creating a high-performance luxury class of Mercedes cars. Basically they're the official tuning company for Mercedes. So actually AMG is the sponsor in this case. I don't like what they are doing. People already have the opinion that Linkin Park is just there for the money and investing into multiple companies (apparently mostly in high profile and luxury companies) makes it even more. I wouldn't care if they invest in "normal people products" to create some cool stuff for their fans but if you look at the products they are things maybe 0.01% of their fanbase can actually buy. If you look at the watch: POA. What the fucking fuck? I don't know what they are actually selling it for but if you put a "pricetag" like that on it, it will cost a shitload of money. For me it looks like "How much money can we earn from our fans just by putting our name on it?".
