  1. Oh ok well I stand corrected! That's interesting The 10 most diverse... hmmm... Here's my list: 1. My December 2. Lying From You 3. Given Up 4. When They Come For Me 5. Robot Boy 6. The Messenger 7. UNTIL IT BREAKS 8. Breaking the Habit 9. With You 10. No More Sorrow I'm not really good at labeling genres... I try not to do that to be honest. I just tried to pick 10 songs that give a decent representation of the different ends of the musical spectrum LP can go.
  2. I personally would consider GATS to be alternative rock, not metal. WTCFM is hip-hop, and the drums seem to have an almost African influence.
  3. From what I remember hearing, he used FL's steel drum sound
  4. They told him to quit rapping, just play the keys. Lol in all seriousness though, Howard Jones. I mean hey they keep saying it's a loud rock record... That dude is a force of nature. Clean vocals or screaming, a guest spot for Howard Jones I would be happy about.
  5. Ok now you're just going too far. Please keep these realistic, ok? LOL
  6. Thanks man, just had a look around. Still, not quite sure the difference between sung range, and total range. At first I thought total range maybe meant spoken, but nobody speaks over 5 octaves lol.
  7. I feel like I'm possibly a little out of my depth trying to correct you on an LP fact, but I'm like 97% sure Mike did in fact sing on the final chorus of Pushing Me Away. His background is basically inaudible in the final, mastered version of the song. They are there though. The "rap" files are his rap vocals from the pre-chorus and bridge, and the "backing" files are only him singing in almost a falsetto voice under Chester's vocals in the last chorus.
  8. If that exists, it's gonna be Mike rapping a different verse. I'm gonna put myself out there and say I'm positive Mike didn't write Rakim's verse. Either way I would be curious to hear it.
  9. If you think about it, it makes sense with the whole "Carnivorous" theme Mike has been going on about for a while now. He considers LP to be carnivorous rock, and carnivores hunt. Idk, just a thought. I agree. This time I'm going to ignore any and all leaks until the release. GATS is enough to hold me over for 3 months.
  10. None of Jay-Z's vocals? I always thought his second verse in Jigga What/Faint was redone at least. I seem to remember Mike in the DVD saying something about how they were rerecording some vocals to fit more with the vibes of the beats they were rapping on, rather than just adjusting the speed of their original vocal tracks. I guess Mike cared about that more than Jay-Z.
  11. Hate to say it but I think Brad is just kind of there. Lol nobody's favorite but also nobody's least favorite.
  12. I don't think Mike is overrated. Then again there are people who would say that Chester is overrated and I'm sure you would disagree with that. My vote goes to Joe.
  13. I remember when Meteora came out, my friend told me Session was "the DJ's song". Then I did a little research and it's mostly Mike.. by the way my "honest" vote is Mike. lol
  14. I voted for Phoenix because I feel like he won't get a lot of love in this poll lol
  15. I agree. If the youtube videos did not have a link in the description, it would have been allowed? I mean.. even if there are no download links it's still extremely easy to rip audio from youtube. Unless he had literally posted the links, or said "Check this out guys: download links in the description", then... I don't see how that's a violation of the rule.
  16. I remember when LP released the instrumental/acapellas of LT, Mike was asked if the rest of their core discography would be released in that form and he said it's a possibility. I'm hoping that actually happens..
  17. Is there an actual story behind "Yesternumb" besides just "it was the Grammys"? Did someone in the band reach out to Paul McCartney? I'm just curious.
  18. Would have been awesome, but I thought it was semi-established that it wasn't an actual "remix", and was just the slightly altered version of ALTNC that plays in the background of that video. Either way, this EP seems ok I guess. I'll most likely get one or two of these tracks.
  19. Mike has said that some of the keyboard sounds the band uses are stock, such as during the Catalyst. My question is, does anyone know if the pad type sound in the verses of Numb is a stock sound, or is it one of their custom sounds?
  20. I was 10 years old in 2001, on my way home from school when In the End came on the radio. My dad basically said "hey, listen to this song I think you might like it." I did listen, and I loved it. He bought me the ITE single a few days later, HT after that. LP has been my favorite band for the last 13 years now. It sounds crazy to say that, makes me feel really old. It's true though. So yeah.. my dad introduced me to LP and I'm forever grateful.
  21. It's always existed, yeah. Speaking from personal experience though, I never heard much EDM on the radio until people like Skrillex came a long and brought it into the mainstream. Techno was big in the 70's... but it definitely went out of style. It's not like dance music has been huge in the mainstream for the last 40 years. LP took advantage of it being huge NOW, and incorporated it into ALTNC and did Recharged. It's not the worst thing in the world. People seem to take it as a personal act of betrayal when LP does something intentionally mainstream.
  22. First time hearing MTM it surprised me, but ATS is what shocked me. It was such a huge departure from anything I would have expected from them. I love that album, but yeah that's the time LP shocked me. Specifically The Catalyst when I first heard the album version.
  23. ^ all of those questions would probably get a response like "anything's possible" or "we're working on some ideas now, so we'll see what happens". Lol those are valid questions I just wouldn't expect to come away with a definitive answer.
