From what I've seen, the casual fans (who know LP mainly from OSC, ITE, and Numb) seem to feel like LP hasn't been relevant since MTM came out. It's pure ignorance and THOSE are the comments that I take personally. On this site, people tend to have strong opinions sometimes, but at least they're educated, informed opinions formed by people who listen to Linkin Park regularly. It's not a personal attack on the band when Hahninator says he hates DTB. Just because he is the founder of LPL, that doesn't mean he can't express a negative opinion about a release if that's the way he feels. By the way, sometimes I think joe_lp just enjoys trashing LP honestly. That is the most ironic situation ever, because he obviously no longer cares for LP, yet he's on an LP fan site (of all places) dissing them lol.

I like both songs. All due respect, but it's seriously just a matter of opinion. Plus, the fact that neither song is on a main LP album makes it easier to disregard if you don't like them. DTB isn't the best song ever, but it's good for what it is. It's catchy, and Mike and Chester prove once again that they sound great singing in harmony. Nice collaboration. I really like the second verse, and the bridge.

Are you saying that STP news or shows should be posted in the main newswire? I disagree. This is different. Mike jamming with members of two other bands IS news. It's not like this is Mike's new project. When Chester first joined STP it was newswired, because it was NEWS that was important to all LP fans. They got their own subforum though, because they are their own band. Not everyone who likes LP listens to STP. Their shows have no need to be in the Linkin Park newswire. Just like if FM does wind up doing an album or tour or whatever I wouldn't think that the shows would be newswired like LP shows either. I'm not sure on that, but that was my impression. This is news though, so I don't see what the problem is. Mike joined other artists onstage. If it was Chester it would be news as well. It's different than asking why STP isn't here. It doesn't compare.

Joe technically co-wrote Slip Out The Back, because he "wrote" his scratching parts.

I don't understand why you hate FM so much. lol

I was under the impression that these live versions are meant to be a teaser of sorts for the real thing. He might have just muted the lead vocals for that part of the song, it doesn't mean they won't be in the studio version. It's similar to how the live version has drops in it, but the studio version is confirmed to not have any.

You're right, and to me it's ironic that anyone who considers themselves an LP fan would take that stance and be so close minded, as LP are constantly exploring new styles and sounds. I like what we've heard of Darker Than Blood so far, and I'm all for them branching out and doing different things.

Not sure. I know he plays the backing vocal by itself though for part of it.
-
Ok...Random lol
-
You sure can. To be fair though, RTN was basically the theme song of the NBA for a couple of years.

Brad: And what's the recovery time on that? Chester: A long time. .....both laugh. Lol props to Brad for making Chester laugh through that, by not even doing anything. Also as far as him not noticing the bottle, I think it was just one of those things. It really was a freak accident any way you look at it.

They should just make Rock Band: Linkin Park already. Lol I personally want some Meteora. LFY, F.09, HTF, Faint...

I think the only way this gets newswired by staff is IF Linkin Park is announced to be in the game. For the record though, any songs we haven't had in music games yet would be great!!

Which show was it last year where the guys stopped BIO for like 15 seconds because someone fell or something?
-
That's pretty weird. Listening to the instrumental with the alternate synths makes me feel kind of like I'm listening to an instrumental remake by someone else. If your theory is correct, and there were a few different versions they had mastered, then I'm glad they went with the one they did for the original release of MTM. I'm not a fan of that sound lol.
-
Huge praise considering we haven't even heard the album version yet!! LOL but I do love the melodies in the song.
-
Apologies if this has been answered, but is there a real reason available for the synths in SOTD being replaced for the video game/mastered for iTunes versions?
-
I like those vocals. I'm glad they do collabs like this. They're broadening their "horizons", if you will. It's not even an LP track, they're just featured, so if anybody really doesn't like it it's not hard to avoid.

This is cool!! ILS is my favorite STP song, and it sounds great here

Yeah, but a song is different than an entire project. You cited Mike trying to merge the fan bases as a possibility, but that wouldn't really make too much sense as FM has been inactive for 9 years now, save for Mike rapping a verse or two here and there in LP shows. If he is trying to get LP fans to pay attention to FM, it wouldn't be so that they look up his 10 year old album. It would mean something was in the works in the way of new material. Only time will really tell, though.

Your way of saying Mike won't do anything bigger than one show with Fort Minor because of money he lost 10 years ago, is to post a quote saying that while he did lose money, he didn't care? Thanks for making an irrelevant point and then countering it with your own source. The dude is a multi-millionaire. If he wants to take the monetary risk to revisit Fort Minor he will. Same goes for Chester and DBS if he didn't already have STP. As far as saying he can do whatever he wants with LP now: yes, songs like WTCFM, UIB etc. have obvious hip hop influences, but he might want to make his own record free of the LP name. I don't see what's wrong with having a solo artistic release to work on during down time from Linkin Park.
-
Are you really serious? The Rising Tied was an amazing album. I realize that it's a matter of opinion, so there's no point debating, but it's crazy that you would say Mike "knows" FM sucks. If he for some reason did decide that his own art sucked, he wouldn't revisit it at all.
-
You mean FM collabs with rock artists? That would also be awesome lol. I'm sure that's a possibility and it would definitely be intriguing. Really, new FM material will be a good thing no matter which way you look at it. I'm honestly more excited for this than I was for THP, even though this is still really nothing more than speculation.

Man.. I hope if this really is new Fort Minor that he collaborates with some of the current biggest hip hop acts. Imagine FM featuring Kendrick Lamar, or Drake, or Eminem, or Jay Z, or Meek Mill, etc. If Linkin Park was willing to collaborate with rock stars (and Rakim) for their most recent record, I see no reason why Mike wouldn't be open to the idea. (Kendrick especially, since Mike has already stated he would like to work with him). All of these developments have to be leading to SOMETHING. Whether it's an album, or an EP, I don't know. I don't think he would do all of this just to promote a tour to play FM songs that are over 10 years old though, as someone speculated earlier.
