  1. Mike has said that some of the keyboard sounds the band uses are stock, such as during the Catalyst. My question is, does anyone know if the pad type sound in the verses of Numb is a stock sound, or is it one of their custom sounds?
  2. I was 10 years old in 2001, on my way home from school when In the End came on the radio. My dad basically said "hey, listen to this song I think you might like it." I did listen, and I loved it. He bought me the ITE single a few days later, HT after that. LP has been my favorite band for the last 13 years now. It sounds crazy to say that, makes me feel really old. It's true though. So yeah.. my dad introduced me to LP and I'm forever grateful.
  3. It's always existed, yeah. Speaking from personal experience though, I never heard much EDM on the radio until people like Skrillex came a long and brought it into the mainstream. Techno was big in the 70's... but it definitely went out of style. It's not like dance music has been huge in the mainstream for the last 40 years. LP took advantage of it being huge NOW, and incorporated it into ALTNC and did Recharged. It's not the worst thing in the world. People seem to take it as a personal act of betrayal when LP does something intentionally mainstream.
  4. First time hearing MTM it surprised me, but ATS is what shocked me. It was such a huge departure from anything I would have expected from them. I love that album, but yeah that's the time LP shocked me. Specifically The Catalyst when I first heard the album version.
  5. ^ all of those questions would probably get a response like "anything's possible" or "we're working on some ideas now, so we'll see what happens". Lol those are valid questions I just wouldn't expect to come away with a definitive answer.
  6. Is that sarcasm? lol
  7. People who used Shazam for the ALTNC performance on Kimmel were given the remix, apparently. It sounds ok.
  8. So basically the entire climax of the song is gone. lol
  9. Together we made it, we made it even though we had our backs up against the wall.... LOL Seriously though an LPL shout-out on LPTV is really awesome. It's cool to see that it meant a lot to Mike to read that and that Chester thought it was cool as well.
  10. Yeah but still you would think he would mention even in passing that Lupe Fiasco and Kenna did make a song with this and it was on Download to Donate.
  11. Astat I found that funny too... "Vocals never materialized." Really?
  12. Thank you very much for compiling all this info. Very good read!!
  13. How long will this last? Lol
  14. Please do! I had forgotten about those
  15. "We know the fans miss our live DSPs, and we want them to be able to experience some of our favorite performances. So what better outlet than the LPU?" -Mike in a year. Lol
  16. One of my favorite bands (at the time - this was in 2010) had live cameras set up in the studio every day on ustream for recording their last album. No sound though obviously. Something about that was really awesome to me. It got boring sometimes, and torturous when you see awesome things happening that you can't hear. During that though, they would sometimes all come in one room and un-mute the sound and do a video chat with fans. It was cool.
  17. Same here. lol. Personally I want to hear what the SIB intro sounded like originally, the part Chester played on guitar that Mike said was "too folky".
  18. LMAO!!!!!! That's horrible. That sounds interesting. Looking forward to seeing what it is.
  19. I know this is a joke, but I once saw a real life review of MTM where the person said that they lost all respect for Chester for "resorting" to swearing in Given Up.
  20. Recording
  21. The drums completely turn me off from Primo. I literally couldn't enjoy it past the first chorus. That being said, I like the lyrics and vocal melody, and obviously it turned out great as IBG.
  22. That's basically the moral of this entire thread, yes.
  23. It's possible I'm just missing it, so I apologize if that's the case. I've only seen it on youtube, but I thought the Krwlng instrumental from the Making of Meteora was only around 2:40 long.. Is it in another section besides the credits? Or are the credits actually 4 minutes long?
  24. I vote C. I think that an IMR remix will be on it. Mike said there were no remixes good enough for RECHARGED, I'm sure that means there were candidates and that one will wind up on LPU 13.
  25. My 5, not album restricted: 1. SKIN TO BONE 2. Robot Boy 3. Iridescent 4. The Catalyst 5. BURN IT DOWN
