  1. Well since we got Heavy in February, now Battle Symphony in March. I'm going to just guess that we'll get Invisible in April, and then that's it until the album is released in May.
  2. Was MTM also your favorite LP album?
  3. I think the song is about rehab. First verse is reflecting on the road ahead, his struggles, and the last overdose that led to him being admitted. Turning down the lights refers to the lights in a rehab clinic at night. The chorus is about having..well the whole world in front of him, and his struggle to clean up and take advantage of that (armor breaks, please don't give up). Eyes being wide awake referring to him seeing his addictions for what they are now that he's free from their influence. Second verse is his inner demons talking to him. The voice that puts the pain in reverse being someone that's a positive and encouraging force in his life (his wife? kids?) Bridge is about him fighting back from relapses. Now it's possible that I just had too much time on my hands and I read too far into this song... but I just wrote these possibilities as I listened to the song in real time. It's how I chose to make sense of the lyrics.
  4. You really expected that after all we've heard and seen of the album so far and the process that went into it? Also, despite everyone continually pointing it out, I don't think the title Heavy was intended to be ironic.
  5. I think they should go back to making the music first and letting the music dictate the vocal.
  6. I definitely would agree that if the band (Mike especially) hadn't done so much press saying that they had conversations for hours about things deep within themselves that they hadn't talked about, and how the lyrics came from that...I don't think people would be as disappointed in the lyrical content. LP made it seem like the lyrics on this album would be the deepest lyrics they've ever written and they aren't. Yet despite that, the lyrics aren't "bad".
  7. "Arguably" being the operative word. I don't think they're that bad. Nowhere near as bad as UIG or STB for instance.
  8. Unlike most people here, I like the song. My main issue with it is that, like with Heavy, I feel that Chester is consciously softening his voice rather than just singing the song. It's hard to explain. Somebody on LPL said Chester on Heavy had an "intentionally sensitive voice". It's present here too.
  9. LOL. If I'm not mistaken it was said earlier that Mike has already been messaged for more info, including whether or not there are other Xero tracks out there and he hasn't replied. My theory is that he doesn't remember. Mike is the same guy who released Universe as an LPU demo and said that it was an abandoned beat. His memory of older stuff isn't always the greatest, but that's nothing we didn't already know.
  10. I think it's more likely that he'll confirm once the tracks are found, like he did for Drop and Fiends. I get the feeling that Mike's memory of what songs are where are pretty fuzzy at best, honestly lol. He would probably be the first to admit that, too.
  11. It'll be the most anticlimactic moment in the history of Linkin Park lol. I have a feeling Mike wasn't lying when he said it wasn't that great.
  12. Well as far as Rob specifically, the "Drum Idea" video let me know that he had basically no input lol. Mike basically said "here's what I want you to play", and then Rob went and played it.
  13. If it was the new single than the goal would ultimately be for LP to compete with itself, which isn't the best strategy. I think it will be released, but as promo for the album itself not as a single.
  14. My question is, could this be a collab with Chance the Rapper? LP's official Instagram followed him yesterday. Whether it's a single or not (which it definitely isn't), that collaboration would be awesome.
  15. You miss the point. I meant I would rather wait a while longer and get an organized release that sounds better, and maybe even has the files synchronized, than what we got. The longer wait would have been worth it in the end. I was saying that WHOEVER put the trakcks out this way, I would still like a better release that includes the work that was going to be put into it.
  16. You can't imply that I made a dumb comment and then say "don't answer". I was referring to Astat's post saying that these tracks were leaked, when the intention was to eventually release them in a more organized fashion, with better sound quality. I can also italicize for emphasis. Furthermore, of course it's a "leak". It doesn't matter when the album came out. These are multitracks, not the album version of the song. Similar to how the HT instrumentals were "leaked" 11 years after the album came out. Same principle. They weren't officially released. They.....leaked.
  17. These are hilarious and awesome. Amazing find, thank you!!!
  18. It was pretty tastefully done in my opinion. We all knew it was coming, so for the car to only be in the video for less than 10 seconds, I would say it's not that big of a deal.
  19. I have to say that the Linkinpedia staff really is absolutely amazing. I've been visiting the site a lot, and the amount of care and research that goes into the site is incredible, not to mention the constant updates to keep up with the flow of information now coming in about the new album/songs. Seriously awesome stuff that is all very much appreciated.
  20. I mean, don't let this leak stop you guys. Any release from y'all that has that much hard work put into it would be amazing regardless of any premature leak.
  21. They leaked By Myself too???
  22. What about the instrumental killed "Heavy"? I like the instrumental more than the album version. If Chester hadn't tried to sound intentionally vulnerable and strained and just sung it the way he does live, and not featured Kiiara, the song would have been much better to me. The music wasn't the problem though.
  23. A few days ago I was at work listening to the local New Orleans pop station which we play all day, and "Heavy" came on. I never thought THAT day would come lol.
  24. You just reminded me of a question I've had ever since Mike said more than once that the sample clearance is holding the song back from ever being released. Couldn't they just post the song as a free download on their site, or Soundcloud? Somewhere where the public can hear it for free. Unless I'm wrong, it's ok to use samples so long as you don't incur a profit. So releasing Pictureboard as an LPU exclusive would be illegal without clearance, but not if they just put it out for free. If the song "isn't that great" as Mike said, and yet he knows the fanbase sees it as a "holy grail"...why not?
  25. Almost as good as the original!
