  1. Heavy. Yes, this is my third different vote in 3 rounds, but I'm playing the long game lol
  2. If that was true, then Sorry for Now would be my Hermione lol. She wins hands down.
  3. Holy shit... that's a shocking first elimination. There's no way Halfway Right deserved to be the first to go. I'm switching up this time, gonna go with Good Goodbye.
  4. Not totally random. It could have been foreshadowing by the band to include part of the song in the show intros.
  5. Well damn! I feel like this comment sums up what Chester has been feeling lately but not articulating correctly in the press. I agree with everything you just said.
  6. To be fair, Brad has been playing samples and keyboard on some songs since ATS was released, and possibly before that as well. I'm sure Astat or someone will point that out if I'm wrong. Also, Mike was never just "a rapper" in the first place and, just from observing as a fan, he's seemed determined to prove that for years now that he's not just the rapper in a rock band. Ten years ago, Chester and Mike were 30 and not 40. Those 10 years make a difference. We know that Chester won't be the guy running around on stage like he's still in his 20's until the end of his career. That's just not him. Does it mean he's lost his passion for performing? No.
  7. I don't want to be insensitive or take away from how painful this had to be for Chester... but I really hope we get to see the full song. I've always loved that song.
  8. He probably meant politics within the industry. My first thought is the label, but that raises a few questions in and of itself. Can WB force the band to add or drop songs from their set? Even if they COULD, why would they want LP to drop a single from the album that they were touring in support of? It's just a strange and intriguing comment by Chester that I would like some elaboration on.
  9. Do you remember late January/early February when there were a lot of people saying it's ridiculous that we haven't heard anything from the album? Fast forward 3 months and now we've heard too much from the album. Lol
  10. Same here, although Mike did sound great on Invisible!
  11. Meteora was also very polished, though.
  12. Awesome post. I laughed at the "spoiler".
  13. Commercial performance doesn't mean an album is "good" or "bad". I just thought it was funny that there were people who didn't like the album who said it would be a guaranteed flop. It definitely hasn't flopped. I want the album to do well for the sake of the band, not because it would make me feel justified for liking it.
  14. It's not as terrible as people seem to think. I've listened to the full OML album enough times now to have certain highlights that I look forward to on playthroughs, and Heavy is one of them. After the first 5 songs, Kiiara's vocal comes in and creates a refreshing change of atmosphere. The guest feature here feels right and much more effective than Good Goodbye's features. Also, I'm glad that Heavy doesn't feature any of the vocal chops with which she has become synonymous. She sung the song well, and I felt like she added to the song rather than just being thrown in so LP could say "Look, we have Kiiara on a song!".
  15. Didn't they start 20 minutes late? Better shortening in than dropping it altogether. It's not like they could shorten or drop songs from OML at the OML release show.
  16. He's serious. He was convinced that the video of Phoenix recording bass for BS was faked or just for show because he thought there was no live bass on the song.
  17. One of the complaints I've seen has been the simplicitu of the lyrics. As your comment shows though, sometimes simple can be good. Simple, vulnerable, personal.. those are some of the goals I think they had when they wrote these lyrics.
  18. They didn't even broadcast Heavy lol. Only OML.
  19. Damn, that's true. Eddie Vedder is the only one left.
  20. Chris Cornell died today. One of Chester's best friends.
  21. I agree. One More Light hit me even harder in the context of the entire album, because you spend 8 songs hearing all this production and layering, and then suddenly all of that falls away and you have this beautifully stripped down song, with some of the most emotional lyrics to ever be in an LP song. It's beautiful.
  22. I would also understand. Another thing that occurred to me is at the very least, OML (the song) will probably be extremely hard for him to perform for a while, since it's about exactly this type of situation.
  23. I agree, and the ending "understaaaaand" by Mike reminds me of the release at the end of WFTE when Chester hit that high note. It builds and builds and has an awesome explosion at the end.
