  1. I like the optimism lol. Hope you're right.
  2. I'm sure I could sit here and think of a few holy grail shows.... The 2003 show in New Orleans being one, since it's in my hometown and they haven't played a show here since. Personally, though, and I know not many people will agree with me since CC isn't particularly popular among hardcore fans, I want the full pro-shot of the Collision Course show in July 2004 at the Roxy. That includes the opening LP songs and the first take of the CC tracks. I really love that show. It was intimate and obviously unique among the history of LP shows.
  3. I laughed for like 10 minutes when I realized that Joe walking around filming videos for Instagram really is him ACCURATELY rehearsing for tour. That's hilarious lol
  4. I'm hoping it's just LP, but since it's a promotional performance she may make the trip out with the band. I'm hoping just LP because I'm curious to get a feel for how this song will sound live on tour, since she won't be there.
  5. That might be a good addition to the 'other notes' section of the show page for future reference. Something like "This was the last Linkin Park live show to be mixed by long time LP sound engineer Ken "Pooch" Van Druten."
  6. This song is getting more attention because of Kiiara being featured. Other than that I don't know. BID did have a heavier (no pun intended) sound and a rap verse from Mike, but it's definitely in pop territory. Also in reference to ATS, I'll never understand all the hate that album receives. ATS is a damn good album.
  7. Yeah that won't happen again. Maybe a song here and there, like Wastelands etc. but not an entire album. Which is cool because I wouldn't want it to. I like that they continue to reinvent themselves.
  8. That's my favorite, when people are like "I've been a die hard life long fan, but you guys continue to disappoint since Meteora!" As we approach the 15th anniversary of that album lol.
  9. That's a messed up thing to say. Anyways did they actually say that anyone who doesn't like Heavy is a "hater" or "piece of shit"? I can't imagine any of them actually saying that, and if Chester responds angrily to a fan on Twitter I'm willing to bet it's because the fan crossed the line first. There's a difference between "I don't like this song or direction" and "What the fuck happened to you guys? This fucking shit SUCKS". I would get pissed off too if I had to see thousands of comments like that directed at myself and my band mates.
  10. I wish someone would ask him that during the promotion of the album. Just a simple "After listening to Heavy, I couldn't help but remember you and the rest of the band totally shitting on pop music 2 years ago. What brought about this complete 180?" I like THP, and I like Heavy and the clip of Sorry For Now that we have. I'm pretty certain I'm going to like this album as a whole as well. My only problem with this album cycle is Mike's own words 2 years ago when promoting THP. It's bothering me because, Mike's comments in 2014 coupled with Mike now saying he wouldn't call Heavy pop or mainstream, makes him seem a little hypocritical. EDIT: I realize he was promoting the hard rock album they had just made, but he went out of his way to diss pop music when he didn't have to do that.
  11. I realize you hate the song. I'm referring to the wider pop-mainstream audience. That's probably who WBR will be targeting with their marketing. It's not like they could have pushed GATS to the top of the pop charts. I know you hate the direction, but whether the hardcore fans like it or not, this album will appeal to an entirely different audience than LP usually has the attention of.
  12. If Heavy is indeed the core sound of the album, then WBR know they have a money-maker on their hands. That's why they want time to promote this one, while poor THP got thrown out so fast that some casual fans today still don't know that album even exists lol.
  13. Just had to comment and say the list of collectibles in your signature is incredible lol
  14. True, for Heavy specifically. Mike also said they were working with some new friends and that there would be some fun surprises. if it turns out that Kiiara is the only vocal feature on the album then that's great, especially since there's only 10 tracks. I just have a feeling there will be 1 or 2 more.
  15. Honestly I think they're just hiding that information for now. I would be surprised if there were no other features on the album.
  16. That's a good point. The cool thing about Chester and LP in general is that if Mike and Chester both sing something, Chester has shown that he won't hesitate to say Mike sounds better for a particular song if that's the case. Plus it could be like Iridescent, with Mike singing the verses and Chester singing the chorus. That would be pretty cool I think.
  17. First of all, I see what you did there lol. Look at this though. It is Mike. Someone lowered the pitch of that clip here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TXEf3YR3_f8 I actually love it. It's really catchy and Mike's voice sounds great here. I love some good rock music, but I also love more laid back stuff like this. The range of Linkin Park continues to amaze me. This is better than most of the stuff on the radio nowadays.
  18. Yeah that's true. I would imagine for someone who hates the studio version it's almost bittersweet how good it sounds like this. I guess it's too much to hope for that instead of the ballad medley, they would play Heavy as a piano version with Chester singing Kiiara's parts when they go out on tour?
  19. Sort of like an UIG type situation. I think that too. I like the beat to this song a lot.
  20. I really want that huge bundle, but $150 is a little steep lol. Maybe once we get another single (which I think will happen before the album release) I'll revisit it. I would have probably done it if there were 12-13 tracks, or at least a B-Side that came with the bundle. That being said I'm most likely just going to wind up getting the CD + LPU Membership.
  21. I stand corrected lol
  22. Almost 100% positive that the 2-track will be the explicit and clean versions. That promo CD sounds really cool though!
  23. Linkin Park is Linkin Park. Not defending Heavy because it's your right to have an opinion and not like the song at all, I'm just saying that LP has said more than once throughout the years that they don't take anyone's expectations about what LP is supposed to sound like into account when making music. If they happen to lose fans along the way, then that's something they're willing to risk. I think Mike even literally said that.
  24. The "lyrics" teaser is cooler now with the context of the final product.
  25. There's nothing wrong with product placement. Like if Chester in the video gets into a car and the camera happens to conveniently swing around to reveal a Mercedes logo. It would be cheesy but I wouldn't really mind as much if it wasn't too distracting. But if the entire video is just a long Mercedes commercial then that would be pretty disappointing.
