  1. Haha, yeah! And trust me - the two new demos that I've heard on the DBS tour are just incredibly good... As well as what we heard from "The Hunting"! At this point I don't believe anything can top DTA - but I'm sure the guys will prove me wrong eventually
  2. Haha, Church is simply THA MAN!
  3. I don't see Julien-K and Orgy touring together at any point - I think it will be done separately. But I can in fact imagine Orgy to tour with Hellflower (the new band of Church and Orgy's Paige Haley), and maybe Ryan and Amir might then join Hellflower for that one song where they are supposed to participate in!
  4. Favorites: 1. Crawling 2. In The End 3. Numb Least Favorites: 1. Faint 2. Bleed It Out 3. Given Up
  5. This is great!! Now I will have a new favorite place in this message board
  6. Julien-K are also defined by remix work to a great extent. It's just a part of their band philosophy, and yeah, you either love them for it or you dislike it. Personally I really like that aspect of redoing and changing existent stuff. Amir and Fu in particular are real electronic/house music nerds, and in that scene it is very common to do remix work all the time apart from the actual project. Really looking forward to the new remixes! I'm especially looking forward to the "Dreamland" remix and iPunk's remix of "Systeme de Sexe"!
  7. Not exactly right... Level 7 is Julien-K's (and also Chester's) own management company that should have become JK's label but it did not function as their label when Death To Analog was released in the US in March 2009. The distributing label of that CD was Metropolis Records. Maybe Level 7 will in fact take over the role of a label with the next release but we don't know yet. And Tiefdruck-Musik is actually considered the label for Europe altogether! The distributing company is Intergroove, by the way (Tiefdruck has a contract with them). And I am so fucking stoked for all things to come!! A Julien-K European tour would really make a dream come true but I won't believe it until it is 100 % confirmed, I guess, because you know they already had to cancel their European tour twice... same with Orgy, by the way! An Orgy US tour would be great as well! They won't come to Europe with Orgy but I will be in California in late August/early September, therefore I hope the tour might take place in this time span! If yes, then I will definitely see them!
  8. JK and TDF would be very epic indeed I really hope they will do the tour. June would not be the best time period for me but it's Julien-K, you know, so I WILL take the time! *hahaha* (Damn, that is gonna be one expensive touring year! *lol*)
  9. Ohh yeah... Ryan rocks it on vocals! Love that preview!!!
  10. They just thought "Killing Fields" did not fit as perfectly to the atmosphere of the album as the other songs. That is why they left it out. Ryan and Amir love to listen to the album from start to back, and they feel like all songs have to be connected with each other in some way. And that is why they decided against "Killing Fields," even if it might sound strange to us who think it's such a brilliant song! Just fyi: A new collabo with Franz + Shape does not necessarily mean that it might be used for a new JK album. It could also be another remix of a DTA song, or something for the JK DJS or Circuit Freq projects.
  11. I'm 100 % convinced this will be out soon.... very soon!! *lol*
  12. Amir, Fu, and Brandon are the main remixers/producers in the band but the other ones always give input as well... even Chester! And yes, a re-release of Death To Digital will be out soon! I posted about it in another thread!
  13. *lol* I might be the only one who thought of DTD as standing for Death To Digital - the remix album by Julien-K that is also gonna be re-released soon! HAHAHA!
  14. He might pull it off but as far as I know he said it's too deep for him and he didn't want to try, or he didn't have time to make an own interpretation of that song. Maybe he will do it someday, who knows...
  15. A better version of KTB? Meaning they should record it with Chester?? *lol* Yeah, I'm also not a big fan of Chester singing JK songs in general, even though he actually does a good job! I just prefer Ryan's deeper voice which matches the songs perfectly. And Chester can't pull off "Systeme de Sexe" at all and he even admitted that because when he filled in for Ryan at that Tinley Park show he erased SDS from the setlist and replaced it with "Maestro" *lol*
  16. No, the only audio version we have is the audio ripped from the YouTube videos! I'm sorry... Nope, no studio version of KTB with Chester. But, speaking of a Chester/Julien-K studio collabo: There are rumors that Chester is singing background vocals on the Brandon Belsky remix of "Maestro"!
  17. The remixes by ARN.MIKL, zwierR.Z., and Terminal Decoder are not official - that's why I did not post them here. The ones by ARN.MIKL and zwieR.Z. might have been entries for the "Kick The Bass" remix contest (and some of them are really good) but they did not win, and therefore only the winner versions are at least a bit official. And I actually know Terminal Decoder, and his remixes are badass, but they aren't official, that's why I left them out! The instrumental version of "Kick The Bass" has also never been released officially. The only things that one could add to the list would be the different remix stems (like the a-cappella version, the drum parts, the synthie parts, etc.) that were provided for the remix contest but I did not bother to include them here because they aren't really full tracks. The Headcleanr remix of "Someday Soon" and the Kick The Freebase remix of "Kick The Bass" were actually included in my list The first one is the first track on the bonus remix CD Death To Digital and Fu's Kick The Freebase remix was released on the limited Summer EP 2008. The three demos that you named had also never been released officially (in contrast to the ones from "Kick The Bass" and "Look At U"), and I don't really think they are any different from the current versions except in sound quality terms (but I'm not 100 % sure in that). Or maybe the "Spiral" and SDS demos are the demo samples that were ripped from the EPK or the samples that had been on MySpace for quite some while. The only other remix that one could possibly name as being released officially is the "Maestro" sample that used to be on Julien-K's MySpace because it was definitely different from the official version (less synth layers and stuff). But yeah, it was a sample and not a full version. As for the "Dreamland" demo - I also think this is that one demo sample that somehow appeared at some point? Yes, exactly, the KTB Xtended Version appeared on that Metropolis Rebirth compilation, and it is in fact a more extended version of the song! The "Someday Soon" (Motor Remix V1) is not the Motor Deconstruct Mix but it was a different version from the Remix V2 that did not make the cut for the remix EP, and that was therefore given out by Motor for free some while ahead. And yes, there was a remix contest for KTB - I think in Spring or Summer 2009 or so. The 5 winner remixes were then officially released and linked by the band - that is why they are downloadable at Julien-K's official MySpace, and that is why one could count them as being official. I hope this clears up some questions And no, I don't mind your edits, Serg! BTW: Here you will also find an overview over all JK releases: http://www.julien-k.de/julien-k/releases/ I had a really hard time compiling it, that's for sure! *hahaha*
  18. Hehe, yep, there's no denying of Mike's talent from my side But, for example, Brandon from JK can also play a shitload of instruments and has been a producer and engineer for many years... And he is only 27!
  19. Yes, of course
  20. I would heavily doubt that, also considering that Mike hasn't really been in the music biz until the late 90ies while Amir and Fu in particular have been around since the early 80ies playing in several bands and producing stuff for even more bands, and Ryan and Elias have also been around since the late 80ies or early 90ies. But this is not a thread to state who knows more about music or who is the better band. I just wanted to point out that if you consider statements like that from OZZY as nonsense and not true, you shouldn't come up with own conclusions like "Trust me, Mike Shinoda knows more about music than all of JK combined" because this isn't any better and does not solve anything at all.
  21. I've found even more news on this site. It's the Wikipedia entry for Church's new band Hellflower that he formed with Paige Haley from Orgy. Their debut EP is apparently gonna drop in summer 2010... But the most interesting thing might be this phrase: In 2004[1], Hellflower went into the studio to record its first studio E.P., Us You. The E.P was Executive Produced by Chester Bennington[2], and was mixed by renowned producer Ulrich Wild. One of the tracks on Us You include guest performances by Amir Derakh and Ryan Shuck. One word: OMG!!! There we have it... 3/5 Orgy on one track *lol* ... and Chester as executive producer for the second time! *dies in excitement*
  22. Haha, I also totally expected these comments to come ... and you're welcome!
  23. I just came across the Wikipedia site for Church, one of Chester's (and Julien-K's) closest friends and also his personal "Director of Activities", and one phrase caught my eye: In addition, Church is working on his upcoming television show "Mayor of the World," with executive producers Chester Bennington and Trip Taylor. So yeah, this means Chester is gonna produce a TV series and is once again expanding himself and his skills in the entertainment industry. I dunno if he will actively participate in it, though, but to be honest, it seems likely to me. More information about the TV series can be found HERE!

  25. Another new post by Ryan in the JKMB revealed the following: we have about 7 songs really close to done. another 10 on the burner (we haven't got to totally work on them yet)... they are all dark and cool - but quite different than DTA.... we are not putting out an EP.. much more musical - more melodic vocals... some are total electro, and a few are very heavy guitar/heavy synth...
