Agreed. Agreed² I think so, too, and who knows... they might do that. Fan feedback is definitely helpful! Yes, but you gotta consider that we live in Europe. I have the feeling the promotion over here was better than in the States, and that is also why the guys are more successful over here and do more shows here.

Julien-K Update (Euro Re-Release of DTA on March 5!)
immortalsoul replied to immortalsoul's topic in Julien-K
Yep, there is one new song with the working title "Cruel Heart Girl," and as Ryan tweeted, there are a lot of other songs that are being worked on! -
As the official European re-release of Julien-K's debut album Death To Analog approaches, I thought it would be helpful to provide you guys with some updates: The European re-release of Death To Analog will be released on March 5 via the German indie label Tiefdruck-Musik in a special digipak that also includes 3 bonus tracks: The previously unreleased (and highly anticipated) "Killing Fields," the song "Dreamland" (that had only been released as part of the "Kick The Bass" single in the USA), and the Brandon Belsky remix of "Maestro" (that had only been released as part of a special, US-only summer tour EP in 2008). The tracklist is therefore shaping us as follows: 01) Death To Analog 02) Someday Soon 03) Kick The Bass 04) Technical Difficulties 05) Systeme de Sexe 06) Maestro 07) Forever 08) Spiral 09) Nvr Say Nvr 10) Dystopian Girl 11) Look At U 12) Stranded 13) Disease 14) Futura (DTA Mix) 15) Dreamland** 16) Killing Fields** 17) Maestro (Brandon Belsky Remix)** ** Exclusive Bonus Tracks http://www.julien-k.de/wp-content/uploads/...DTA_160x600.jpg The first single will be "Kick The Bass," and radio promo CDs will therefore be sent out that contain the original song, two remixes (the Dave Audé and the Dopamine remix of KTB), and the video for the song! Source: Julien-K Germany If you are from a German-speaking country and want to extensively promote the new release and win some goodies while doing so, please read this important blog from JULIEN-K GERMANY: CLICK. On another note: We from JULIEN-K GERMANY will also be launching the official German Julien-K site http://www.julien-k.de very soon and are gonna prepare some cool stuff for the upcoming Dead By Sunrise Germany Tour in late February!

Haha, by then I'll already be in Berlin for the show on the next day! 10 € is not much but for only one song? Not a fan of Oliver Pocher at all so I guess I won't change my travel plans just for that performance!
-
Same here! But I will have the opportunity to see three live performances of that song at the end of this month, so yeah, I'm looking forward to it!
-
They are all talking now. I've been told that they have even spoken with Paige again recently! And Bobby and his twin brother have done a lot of video editing for JK in the past, so he's definitely in touch with them as well. There is no new Orgy music right now, and it doesn't look like there will be any new stuff soon, but they are talking again and they've exchanged thoughts about a possible tour or some one-off performance in the future. And let's put JK on a Projekt Revolution Tour line-up again! This would be fucking awesome, and they could maybe play 2-3 DBS songs in the encore or so!

They actually have an official site here in Germany... http://www.dead-by-sunrise.de !

Five Bands That Should Perform at the Super Bowl Halftime Show
immortalsoul replied to ThePretender's topic in Live Talk
Yes, signature mosh pits... Especially with songs such as "Shadow Of The Day." -
My bet is on Alice In Chains!
-
This should have totally been a news post! Some really important stuff in there
-
*facepalm* ... and @Dirudown: Bands do not necessarily have to fit to each other style-wise in order to go on tour together Sometimes it is in fact the diversity of sounds that leads to the best tour moments!
-
These guys just rock! I can totally recommend checking them out if you like Julien-K! I think they have played with DBS in New York before, and they are also supporting the band Good Shoes in mid-February on their German tour, so after hearing this I was kinda sure that they would also support DBS in the following days
-
It's official now: The indie/electro rockers from THE DELTA FIASCO, who are good friends with JULIEN-K and who have already played with JK/DBS before, are gonna support DEAD BY SUNRISE on their European tour starting on February 19 in London! This news has been confirmed on the Delta Fiasco MySpace.

I love that song! Chester's vocals are amazing Now I'm gonna fill up my PayPal account so that I can donate. I only got like 5 € left.

Dude, you don't need to tell me - I know. I know that LP were not delayed about that and even I think that they will put the project to rest in like March for quite a while. But I was referring to some users who just complain about everything DBS - regardless if the band is successful or not. If the guys would be very successful, some people on here would still complain and be afraid about LP being neglected. If the guys aren't successful, some people would complain about that lack of success and how FM were much more successful. It seems as if some people here have something against DBS in general. I was not referring to you in person! AND what the fuck is wrong with me stating my opinion of how I feel about others? I've just gotten sick of everyone badmouthing DBS for every fart they do, and I have the right to express that, so no need to tell me to think for myself, seriously. Why do people need to compare FM and DBS anyways? I never got it, and apparently never will. And IF you compare both projects, you also have to compare the time frame in which both albums were released! FM was released by a time where the economy obviously wasn't as fucked as it is now. The music business had not gone down the drain as it is now. So it's no surprise to me that promotion is worse today than it is some years ago because labels (especially major labels) have to heavily cut down their budget and almost only focus on the really successful bands where they know they are gonna make the big buck from. So why would one even expect DBS to follow suit to FM in those hard times? I believe a lot of you people on here have no idea what the fuck is going on in the music biz right now. Come on dude... I'm not dumb. I know that many things in promotion could have been better, even though we are going through rough times nowadays. Of course it would have been cooler if they went beyond MySpace or Twitter promotion-wise... But instead of complaining about the lack of promotion that the label does, you, as a fan, could become ACTIVE yourelf and work off your ass to make up for this crappy promotion! It's the fans that the band relies on, and it's mostly the fans that are doing the promotion nowadays - not the labels. People complain way too much about how things are presented TO THEM, while wasting some important time that THEY could use to fucking get the word out about the band by themselves. Because if you LOVE a band, you should not put such a high importance on their label or stuff. Labels tend to disappoint way too much nowadays and often just don't have the means anymore as they had some years back (as I had stated above). So what you can do as a fan is to help out in the best possible way because you fucking want to help the band! Bands are mostly on their own today, so focus on the band, not on the people working for them in the background! ... You know how sad I was about the German fans always being neglected in terms of Julien-K promotion and street team stuff, even though we were promised stuff and encouraged to spread the word?? I was VERY dissatisfied about how things were going y that time... So I became active and founded a German support site and now I see how it all pays off and how we were REALLY able to make a difference in promotion by ourselves to make up for the actions of label/management etc. that could be considered "a flop."
-
I also think it was a joke that really aimed at getting the reactions that it now got *lol*
-
... and if everything worked really fine, you guys would complain anyways because, you know, "it works too well.. Oh shit son, Chester is quitting LP because DBS is going too well!!!" ^^ So what do you actually want? You would complain if the project worked too well (while being afraid that Chester is leaving the band or doing some more touring - and this would delay LP or stuff) AND you complain if things are going wrong because "the fans are screwed over." I seriously don't get you guys. What do you expect from the band? Do you want it to be successful (with having even more shows, M&Gs, singles, and any good promotion) or do you want it to go wrong so that Chester focuses on LP again? It seems that band just can't satisfy you in any way and you are just complaining for the sake of complaining!
-
Well, Pooch was with DBS in Hamburg. He was the tour manager for this show and came out with Chester before the show! So Fu and Pooch were both there *lol* And yes, also prefer Fu's mixing!
-
Well, I'm sure that they have the possibility to tour Europe now but no concrete plans are set as of right now!
-
Ohhh yeah, so much more possibilities Yep, I was also sad as hell when they canceled their European dates back in 2008. I even sold my ticket just because of them canceling the shows (I couldn't really afford it at that time anyway *lol*). I'm sure 2010 will be THE year for JK

Yay, thanks for posting this on here. I would have posted it earlier but just didn't have the time to do so. So if any Germans out there also want to promote the release by handing out flyers (--> they just arrived in the Tiefdruck office), just drop me a PM and I'll forward it to the label. We from Julien-K Germany are definitely gonna team up and work with Tiefdruck-Musik (--> I've been in touch with the label own for quite some time now because ADEMA are also on their roster for Germany - they are really great guys!) and will regularly have special promo missions and other surprises for the Germans, so it would be cool if you dropped by at www.myspace.com/julienkgermany. As of right now, we are working on the official German site for Julien-K and should have it finished soon. URL will be www.julien-k.de!

Okay, I might buy the CD since I'm not in the LPU. I'm quite surprised that no LPU member in here bitches about the fact that the LPU CD is gonna be sold in stores and that it might take away exclusivity from an LPU membership. I've heard those talks before.

Could you please post the links to the original interview sources if you post the interviews here? Thanks... Otherwise it loses credibility because how should one know if someone maybe willfully edited one phrase or something like that and then posted it on the site? (No accusation at all... just stressing the importance of crediting sources!)
-
!! I totally agree! Maybe I will get my hands on that release!
-
Yes, it was an incredible show! I totally wanna get the full show as well!
