  1. Damn... Hope you are doing a little better now. Never knew how much other fans were going through shit like this. It's good to see someone who had a good year besides the fact about Chester and LP. I've seen a few others who had a decent year besides it too.
  2. Wow... sounds really rough. And I thought I had a really bad year. Hope you are ok. My problems are mostly just myself and the people around me, but I can say that 2017 was the worst year of my life, too, and it was even before Chester's death, which made it even worse.
  3. The first half of 2017 was even worse for me than the second half of 2017. It was crazy. The entire year was just extremely shitty for me. Here's to 2018 being good.
  4. 2017 was the worst year of all time for me. I lost my hero and even besides that, everything that could have went wrong this year, did. A lot of hard times and situations in my life. I'm glad to see it go. I hope 2018 will be decent.
  5. Yeah, I totally agree. I've come to appreciate all the music now, even if it wasn't my first choice. All of the music he was ever of a part of.
  6. Is it possible to get SSMF 2013 from KTLA??? Says they streamed half the show, starting with APFMH, the first song. It was a legendary show, I was there. Would be cool to not only have a full source of the show, but also a HQ version.
  7. Yeah, Monterrey 2012 is a great one, too. Just watched it today, actually. Here are some more from modern day that are good: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hrHPrrAiNgUHungary 2017 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4gQvNyc9phkMonterrey, Mexico 2012 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CpQQCQm33F4Tokyo, Japan 2013
  8. Like I said, MTM was the last album that I loved right away and what not. But even though the albums after it weren't my favorite when they came out, or I liked them, ended up not liking them, liking them again, etc, I found that with Chester's death, I did start listening to all of the band's music in a different way. I have come to appreciate ATS, LT, THP, OML, more. While they aren't my favorites of all time, I've come to appreciate and like them in certain ways. Like for example, LT has Powerless, which is one of my favorite songs of all time. You know? ALITS from THP is something I think is amazing. And ATS has come pretty good to me.
  9. Hate to be a dick but do you think it would have done that well if Chester didn't shock the world with his passing? It didn't do that well before July 20th. It still did better than THP, I think, overall, before that. But does it even matter? Sales don't mean anything. Hybrid Theory sold a Godly amount and I don't consider it the best album the band has done by a long shot. Some of my favorite songs of all time are by pretty underground artists. Anyone that doesn't already know how huge Linkin Park is has either been living under a rock for the last 17 years or is just messing with you.
  10. ATS Tour Set (2010-2011) The Requiem The Radiance Burning In The Skies New Divide Empty Space / When They Come For Me Robot Boy What I've Done Jornada Del Muerto Waiting For The End Numb Blackout Wretches And Kings Wisdom, Justice And Love Iridescent In The End Fallout The Catalyst The Messenger Bleed It Out One Step Closer
  11. That's awesome that you love the album so much, even after all this time. Linkin Park has always had fans that come from each era. From the HT fanboys, to the Meteora lovers, to the MTM era fans, to the ATS and LT era fans, to the fans of THP, even OML. We shouldn't be divided as a fanbase. Doesn't have to mean that I have to like OML or everything the band has done, just like you don't have to love the older shit. We're all just humans, we like what we like. But no matter what era we love or come from, this band has impacted us all at one point or another.
  12. I was never able to write how I felt about the album since I was banned at the time that it came out. And since the community is basically dead, I don't mind bumping an old thread. 01. Nobody Can Save Me - Probably has the best lyrics on the album, IMO. This is basically a pop-rock song that is leaning strongly on the pop side. It's probably the best song on the album. 02. Good Goodbye - I hated this song when it first came out. This song is probably the most trap and modern day hip hop influenced song on the album by far. I don't think it really belongs on the album, either. It sounds much different in terms of attitude and sound than the rest of the album does, it's kind of almost jarring in that sense. But it has grown on me. 03. Talking To Myself - When I first heard the live performance of this song, I liked it. I think the live version of this song is superior. Something about this song just sounds better live, I don't know why, it's strange. As far as the lyrics and melody, they are very pop driven. Like Nobody Can Save Me, the sound is basically pop-rock, but this time, the song is leaning towards more the rock side of pop-rock. Overall, it's a good song. 04. Battle Symphony - When I first heard this song, I liked it. It reminded me of Minutes To Midnight, slightly. I think the lyrics are actually pretty decent in this song. It's not that good live. 05. Invisible - One of the most poppy sounding songs on the album by far. I know Mike wrote the lyrics for his kids, but I can't get past the sound and delivery of the vocals. Very ''Disney'' sounding. One of the worst songs on the album to me. I've seen people saying they liked it because it showed that Mike could sing, but I knew he could sing from No Roads Left and In Between off of Minutes To Midnight, amongst others. 06. Heavy - When clips of this song first started to surface, I tried to be optimistic about them. I hated Kiiara's guest spot here so much that I was essentially banned for it, because I got so pissed off upon hearing it. I know the lyrics meant a lot to Chester, but just because they meant a lot to the person who wrote them, doesn't mean that they have to mean a lot to me. I think it's very generic in terms of lyrical content, it's a song any human can relate to at one point or another. Linkin Park had changed their sound so much with this song that it became almost ''uncool'' to be a Linkin Park fan. I do enjoy the live version of the song more, without Kiiara. But I still don't love the song. 07. Sorry For Now - When I heard the clip of the chorus that Blackbear posted in 2016, I loved it. But if you listen to that clip and the final product, it was changed. Had a different melody, different beat and different music overall. The chipmunk shit really ruined this song for me. I didn't like how Chester rapped a verse on this track, either. A verse from Blackbear would have even been better, IMO. So all in all, I was let down by this song, but some of it is OK. 08. Halfway Right - It sounds like a third rate twenty one pilots to me for some reason. I know Chester loved that band, but still. It's just a really weird song. It sounds almost like a demo to me. I can't believe it made the album over a likely more fleshed out and advanced song. I will say that it has grown a lot on me, but idk. 09. One More Light - One of the gems of the album. It has good lyrics. It has a good performance from Chester. A lot of fans have shown relation to the song. I can't say anything bad about this song. I like it a lot. Kind of like Good Goodbye, it sounds like it doesn't fit with the rest of the songs, it definitely stands out. 10. Sharp Edges - I liked this song when I first heard it. But over time, the lyrics and pop beat that comes in midway through are what ruin it for me. I hate the lyrics ''We learn what doesn't kill us makes us stronger'', it ruins the entire song for me. I also hate the smoking cigarettes line, it's kind of corny, similar to how I thought the cigarette line from Into You by Dead By Sunrise was very corny. I like the almost folk vibe it has, but the pop-EDM type thing that comes in ruins that for me as well. I think One More Light should have closed the album.
  13. Actually, you have a point. I think it also makes a huge difference in what LP we're talking about, too. The LP of the 2000's, you could ALWAYS find a shit ton of DBZ videos and anime videos and game videos, etc. all using HT and Meteora songs. Then with Transformers in 2007, like you said, plus LOATR being in Twilight, etc. You had the band loving Halo 1, 2 and 3 in the 2000's, even doing press for Halo in 2007, etc. They had regula Halo tournaments on tour throughout 2003-2008 (last one was that PR08 one with Hawthorne Heights, and on PR07 with PR vs. Warped Tour, remember that) LP was kind of a nerd band. The 2010's LP is a bit different and more indie-ish I guess, I feel like their albums after MTM cater to a different group of listeners entirely.
  14. The only song that I NEVER want to be played again is BTH. It's so raw and emotional... that's Chester's song. Just watched the video Warren uploaded over a month ago, of BTH from Chester's final show, and wow. We know BTH meant a lot to Chester because Chester has been saying it since 2003. He even said he broke down crying while recording the vocals in the studio back in 2002. Smokeout Festival 2003 being the first performance of the song, he said it took him a long time to be able to play it live and he cried at that first performance. It's always been a really emotional song for him. And it's crazy how much the lyrics really do relate to his life. In the final performance he did of the song, at the final show, you could almost see it in Chester's eyes. And he did something weird during the ''Now I have some clarity to show you what I mean'' line. Like, I never want to see Mike or anyone sing this song. I don't think Mike would even want to, he knew how much it meant to Chester too, as Mike has said. But if they do get a new singer, I never want that singer to sing BTH.
  15. These are badass. Reanimation was so sick. I miss the old days. I'm glad they uploaded Enth E Nd. Hope all get uploaded. It's nice to see the band do something old school oriented for a change
  16. Awesome. Also, hence why the old days were a simpler time, IMO. Technology has ruined society in some ways, IMO.
  17. I don't think any guest I would have liked, no matter how big or small. Like I said, I just like Linkin Park to play Linkin Park songs. Now that Chester has passed away, I consider Linkin Park as Mike, Brad, Joe, Rob and Phoenix, and that's it. I won't accept a replacement for Chester or anyone else joining the band. Linkin Park has always been the six guys to me. And you can say Xero had a different singer, which Xero did. But as far as LINKIN PARK, it was always just the same six guys, because they chose the name Linkin Park in 2000, Chester actually picked the band name. But yeah, everyone is different. I don't game. I used to play a lot of video games when I was younger, and I like those, but I haven't liked a game since, all the games that I liked were made in the 90's. I also have never met a hardcore gamer that is a Linkin Park fan. I don't think you can really generalize a fanbase, though, cuz nowadays everyone is diverse and it isn't as High School clique oriented as it once was with people. I wasn't saying that the Hollywood Bowl show was bad by any means, I just didn't like the guests, especially the female guests. but it was very well done and a nice tribute. I think what matters is that a lot of musicians who liked Chester got to pay tribute to him. I think that's what it was about. I know some of the guests never even knew Chester personally, M. Shadows said he didn't know Chester personally, etc. But a lot of them wanted to pay tribute to him.
  18. Yeah, I agree with your entire post. I tried at one point to give the guests another chance when I listened again but now I just hate it. Mike was the best, I hope when LP starts up again, it's an entire set of Mike just singing songs. He can do most of the songs LP have ever written, except for the super screamy ones like Given Up. Oli Sykes was actually probably the only one that I enjoyed, but I still prefer Shinoda over anyone else now that Chester is gone.
  19. That's pretty cool. Damn, November 2016 was a really dark time for Chester, but it's cool this happened during the same month. Pruno was awesome when I saw them play it with Chester in 2015.
  20. Just checked this out. Sounds decent. I want to hear it when the song is done in a studio form or final form, etc. It was my favorite song of the entire Hollywood Bowl show, this and the other songs that Mike sang solo. I didn't really like any of the guests, I know it was done to honor Chester, but I don't want anyone that isn't one of the 6 members of LP to sing LP songs (5 members now). Anyone else feel that way?
  21. I'm not hating on OML Live at all. Why not release both? They put out ATS + which had Madrid 2010 in 2011, as well as the Moscow 2011 DSP for free in the same year, etc. I think we should get the Birmingham show. It's special, like I said. It had good performances; but that's not why, it's because it's a special show. It's not like demos and b-sides, etc. It's literally just a live show, they can't ever do anything with it. I'd even pay for it but that's besides the point. EDIT: BTW, I've seen people saying that Battle Symphony actually sounds good on OML Live, just like I thought when I first heard it as well. I found another live version of the song that actually doesn't sound horrible, either. It almost sounds like the one on the CD, during the verses, chorus, etc. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i4UVLxm9Wn4
  22. Merry Christmas!
  23. Probably will never be released, which sucks. There is SO MUCH material that Chester made that will probably never surface now.
  24. Whatever happened to LPTV? I think the last one we got was like August 2015. LOL. I wish we got some episodes from late 2015, and 2016, of the band making some of the songs on OML, like we used to get videos of. Even the 2017 tour.
  25. It's a good song but I still like the original 14 song tracklisting. Like I said, there isn't a song I don't like from DTA. DBS should have come out in 2005 like it was supposed to, I hate how it came out in late 2009 and everything was changed within the songs and tracklisting.
