  1. Is there a demo of Heavy out there without Kiiara? I'd love to have Chester only so much.
  2. Now we need Pictureboard or Thoughts That Take Away My Pride to ''leak''.
  3. Mike loves Pusha T, I’ve heard him say in a lot of interviews that he is a huge fan of him. He’s pretty respected in the rap world, actually. He also was featured on Recharged back in 2013 so he obviously likes working with LP too. But yeah, I don’t think he’s that great personally. He’s ok, I don’t hate his verse.
  4. Pretty cool we got this. I wonder how. I remember the band saying that Stormzy sent his verse later then when Mike and Pusha did theirs. I like the final version with Stormzy but this version is cool too. I hope we can get more demos on LPU17 (still yet to come out). I’d like to hear more stuff like this. I love alternate verses, choruses, etc.
  5. You're probably right with this.
  6. Would like to know exactly what year this is from. Thanks for sharing. Sounds cool. Sounds Meteora-ish but also early Minutes To Midnight-ish at the same time. Probably from 2004 or 2005, like Enjoy the Silence's remix by Mike.
  7. Don't get your hopes up. 1000's of demos in the vault and we always get the shit at the bottom of the barrel. Never any of the cool stuff show in Making Of's, LPTV, talked about in interviews, etc. Look at the version of Fear that we got on LPU9 compared to the much cooler one shown in Making of MTM for example. I can't complain too much since they could have just never gave us any demos at all. But I feel like if they are gonna give us some, why not give us the cool ones that are constantly being asked for (not Pictureboard, since we know why they can't put that one out).
  8. It will be cool when these are on Apple Music. I love the two Chester performances. We're Here With You is my favorite Julien-K album and I love having these two performances with Chester. Even though We're Here With You is my favorite Julien-K album, Time Capsule truly shines with the DTA era stuff, though, IMO. It's cool to hear the early demos. But these two Chester performances are good and well mixed by Pooch.
  9. I'll do my top 5 best and my top 5 worst. Best Crawling: I don't care what people say. I loved Oli on this. I think he did a really great job. It was unfortunate what happened originally with the webcast, but I'm glad they released the corrected version. He loved Chester and I think he did him honor here. He genuinely sounded great to me and I've always loved Crawling, it's probably my favorite song off of Hybrid Theory. A Place For My Head: Jeremy killed it here. I loved Mike's Warped Tour shout out before they started, too. Just an overall epic performance. I was shocked when I watched the webcast live and Jeremy came out. I remember freaking out because I was so excited for it, having loved the performance they did of it at Warped Tour. Sharp Edges: Once again, I know a lot of people didn't like it, but I loved Ilsey on this song. She sang so good to me. Funny enough, I didn't love her on Talking To Myself. I think she nailed this one. I've always liked the song and I think she did it justice. She had the perfect voice and vibe for this track, which makes sense, since she helped the band write the song in the studio. Leave Out All The Rest: I thought Gavin genuinely nailed the song. I loved how his voice sounded in the choruses. It's always been such a huge, epic song to me, and I'm glad they included it. I loved seeing Mike rocking out during the performance, too, you can tell that he really likes the song, he always has spoken highly of it. Heavy: Unpopular opinion here again, but I like Julia Michaels a lot. I think she brought the song to life. I always wanted to hear her sing the song. I know that the band asked her to sing the song in the studio but she didn't want to be on the song ultimately. She said some really nice things about Chester after he passed and even though her vocals weren't perfect in this performance, she brought a good energy. Loved her stage presence. Kiiara did good as well. Worst Waiting For The End: I know a lot of people liked this performance.... I just wasn't feeling it at all. I didn't like Sydney's voice on the song and Steven McKellar didn't impress me much, either. I've never really loved the song to begin with but I don't hate it. I just didn't like the performance, plain and simple. The Catalyst: People said I was crazy for not liking this performance originally, and I still don't. Deryck had good intentions and he seems like a good dude, I just didn't like his vocals on the song. To me, this is one of those songs that only Chester can sing the chorus, etc. in my mind. What I've Done: One of my favorite songs off of Minutes To Midnight and I think Blink-182 sucked with the performance. Once again, I like Blink, but I just didn't like the performance. I think maybe another guest could have done it better. Burn It Down: I hated M. Shadows on this. Another one of those songs, like The Catalyst, that I can only imagine Chester singing in my head. Was a very strange choice and even though a lot of people actually liked it, I didn't at all. A Light That Never Comes: I thought Bebe Rexha was annoying as hell on the chorus. Don't like her voice at all. I know they had to play it because it was a fairly decent hit and you know Steve Aoki had to make an appearance, but idk. Just seemed weird and I ultimately just thought the chorus sounded ear piercingly annoying.
  10. I still don't get why these can't be uploaded to YouTube. You can't buy them online anymore and haven't been able to for years now. And it's not like they were ever released physically, either. Just weird to me. A lot of cool stuff in these episodes. I have the original iTunes full versions somewhere but these are probably better.
  11. Yeah, like lpliveusername pointed out originally, this is a Julien-K release, not a Chester release. And like I said, I didn't buy Time Capsule solely for the Chester features. I genuinely like Julien-K and I wanted to hear it all. I wasn't disappointed.
  12. I don't think Chester is actually featured on Shaking the more times that I listen to it. I think Ryan just meant that he sang it at one point and taught Ryan how to hit those notes. I'm sure there are recordings of Chester singing the DTA demos but they probably didn't want to add those. This was really for the hardcore Julien-K fans more than anything. What he is featured on specifically is 2 live tracks taken from 2011. They are two Julien-K songs, Palm Springs Reset and I'll Try Not To Destroy You. He is heard singing some lines in the background on both, but Ryan still sings lead, harmonizing with Chester. He is also apparently heard on Shaking in the high parts of the chorus but I can't really hear him. He is either buried extremely low in the mix or Ryan simply meant that Chester taught him how to sing those parts in the chorus back in 2004, when the demo is labeled to be from.
  13. My name is listed on the Founders section. I like the project. Took a long time to come to fruition but I'm glad that it did. The whole part about Chester is really awesome and I respect Julien-K a lot for including it. The pic of Chester is also cool, I remember seeing that on their website back in 2005. It was from when they were rehearsing for Let Down on REact Now in September of that year. But it's basically just Chester hanging out at Ryan's House (that's Ryan's house in the photo if people may not have known). Chester actually lived there in 2005.

    Time Capsule

Yeah, that photo collage idea is pretty simlar to OML and even MTM special edition as well (the book with the CD/DVD). I like it. I haven't listened to it all yet either, it is a lot of music. It's all pretty much good, IMO. If you like Julien-K, you will like the package. Shows a lot of their process for their albums, IMO. I like that we got HQ versions of stuff like Everyone Knows, The Hunting, and more. The Hunting has a new mix and it's pretty awesome. But all the unreleased stuff is cool as well. I love the Casper 2007 set. I like the entire package, really. I agree that LP should do something like it. They could do it in a way that honors Chester and they could put it together in a really cool way, I think that would be great. I know a lot of fans would like it.
  15. Wow. The only thing that I would pay over 3,000 dollars for is all 150+ MTM demos. It would be cool to own the cassette. I'm sure someone will own it soon and have a good piece of history.
  16. I think it's just the small clip in the movie of the actual song. They probably didn't do a full version of the song to release on a proper release type thing. Maybe I'm wrong and it will come out. But that's what I think.
  17. Do we have a full Grey Daze show in SBD quality? I know we have that unreleased song Forever in SBD quality, as well as some other individual rips of SBD songs. But do we have a full SBD quality show? I'd like to burn a Grey Daze show to play on my CD player but the full shows that I have found on YouTube are low quality.

    Time Capsule

EDIT: I got mine in the mail. The packaging is really cool, I like it a lot. I haven't had time to listen to the CD's yet as I've been busy all day, but I am going to listen to them soon (I'm not uploading anything from them - sorry). My name appears in the founders too, which is awesome. Nice little note about Chester from Ryan, too. Really respect him for it. Overall - as far as packing - this product is top notch. I wish LP could do something like it. You can tell Julien-K loves their fans and that's why we have this product, they really actually give a shit, unlike a lot of big bands. I'll post my thoughts on the music once I listen to all the CD's.

    Time Capsule

Can't seem to find the exact source right now, but maybe someone else can. It was taken from a screenshot of a lyric sheet of Too Late from one of the LPTV-LPUTV episodes about DBS. I found a post I made years back with what was on the sheet, though. ''My heart is empty ----, My head is full of death ----, The path I've chosen to bring ----, I've tried to claw my way out ----'' I've also found a line from the original version of Fire, it was taken from a DBS interview back in 2009, not sure the exact source. ''There’s a fire in our hearts that’s the reason why the tears keep falling, to put out the fires that our hearts are starting'' I also found lyrics to the original version of End Of The World. Once again, it was taken from a random screenshot from the DBS LPTV footage stuff, can't find the original post now. But I found an old thread in which I wrote them, and I asked Ryan about them in 2012, he said they were from the original version of End Of The World. ''Do you believe in life after death, Without any pain or disease, Do you believe that faith is a test, The greatest truth can't be seen, Do you believe those who suffer are blessed, They know the true meaning of life'' Then there is of course the My Suffering original version which we heard at Club Tattoo 2008, just not one has ever been able to make out the lyrics because the recording wasn't good. Still decent enough, though. I'm thinking Let Down and Walking In Circles probably kept the same lyrics for the most part, since they were performed in 2005 (Let Down) and 2008 (Walking In Circles, same show as the original My Suffering was performed). I think if Walking In Circles had original lyrics that were different, they would have played the song that way, like they did with My Suffering, being the same show and all. Let Down did have a very minor lyrical change, though. During the chorus in the 2005 performance, Chester sang ''I don't wanna live my life again'' each time instead of ''I don't wanna live THAT live again''. Very minor difference, the only one, but it's still more dark in a way, IMO. Since Inside Of Me and Condemned were written in late 2008/2009, there probably isn't a real original version of those, as they probably kept the lyrics originally intended, as they were written literally during the recording sessions for Out Of Ashes. That leaves CBI, GMYN, Into You and ITD, which may have had early original versions that were different. Morning After and 20 Eyes, while not album tracks, we know the original versions for, since we heard Morning After live in 2001 and 20 Eyes is just a Misfits cover.
  20. Stories of the Lost was 2009, not 2008, but same difference. Also, it was 2013, not 2011, when they collabed with Beta State and Ryan Giles.
  21. I just listened to a bunch of recordings of shows (audience recordings) that also have DSP recordings for them, and I realized that a lot of them sound actually way different. Why is this? Some sound way better in audience recordings, the actual songs. But they're from the same show literally? I mean how is that possible? Some songs literally sound like different shows entirely.
  22. Of course it's pointless, I'm just doing it for fun. But there are a lot of tracks out there that kind of fall into weird spaces, like the 4 songs from Mall, She Couldn't, Not Alone, Issho Ni, etc.
  23. Even though I highly doubt we will get music with LPU18, this is what I would like to hear if we did (since I always do a yearly list). I'm gonna keep it old-school this time around. 01. Pictureboard (Hybrid Theory Demo) 02. Technique (Original Long Version) 03. Fire In The City (Minutes To Midnight Demo) 04. Thoughts That Take Away My Pride (Meteora Demo) 05. Nocturnal (Meteora Demo) 06. Cuidado (Meteora Demo) 07. Grecian (Minutes To Midnight Demo) 08. State Of Emergency (Minutes To Midnight Demo) 09. The Vanishing (Minutes To Midnight Demo) 10. The Date (Minutes To Midnight Demo)
  24. I'll add both Carousel and Part Of Me to it. The 2000 versions, not the HTEP versions, right?
  25. Someone should straight up ask Mike. Has anyone ever asked him? I don’t think he even knows. He might be like oh yeah.
