I also agree. It reminded me of the OML performance from Jimmy Kimmel, just in terms of how emotional it was, and Chester's scream from both of these performances is amazing, you can hear the pain literally, like Sasstiel said. Definitely the two best performances of OML, IMO. Cool they released it here.

There will be so many, but we can do this, we just have to pick the absolute best stuff.
-
That is definitely one of the best Faint performances of all time. The outro is otherworldly.
-
Glad they released this live album instead of a best of compilation or whatever. Chester always preferred live over studio (he has said it many times throughout the years) and the man loved being on stage. He was on fire this last tour. So a good way to honor him (can't say it enough). And it's something I will enjoy for years because 99.9% of the music I listen to from Linkin Park and the side projects is live material. This is an A+ release to me. All blends very well and sounds good.

Doesn't tell me much, though. I already discussed that several times. Amir is very vague about anything DBS. But I guess it doesn't really matter ultimately, because we'll probably never get to hear any of it, just like 95% of Linkin Park's demos and b-sides and seeds, etc. I should probably stop obsessing over it. It's probably more effective to beg for live tracks over anything else, cuz at least live tracks are different. Like releasing the entire Steve Wyrick set as an EP, since they already released Let Down and Morning After from it with superb quality. Maybe even the DBS set from 2011 that Palm Springs Reset and I'll Try Not To Destroy You are getting released from on Time Capsule. Hell, those acoustic live versions are probably closer to the original Snow White Tan songs than any demo we will get anyways! This was the original batch of DBS songs in 2005. 01. Morning After 02. Let Down 03. My Suffering 04. In The Darkness 05. Into You 06. Fire 07. Hard Life 08. 20 Eyes 09. Give Me Your Name 10. Walking In Circles

So, I did some more thinking on this lately and found something interesting. You can see the check marks next to all of the songs on the board. However, only 11 of them are complete songs (10 if you don't count the Morning After remix at the end). ''Wall Of Sound'' and ''Instrumental'' have no vocals, bass, drums, etc. Can't make out the word on the board but it doesn't look like guitar, either. Additionally, ''Introutro'' has literally nothing checked off at all, which makes me think they were thinking about creating an Intro and Outro for the album but just never really did. Why is this interesting? We know that Inside Of Me and Condemned were both written after Howard Benson asked Chester to write a few more ''rock'' songs for the album. This would have been in either very late 2008 or sometime in 2009, 2009 being more likely. We also have two more titles that were shown during the time with Howard. ''Evil Twin'' and ''Split Personality''. We also know Chester wrote songs for the album after 2005-2006, which is probably when ''End Of The World'', ''Crawl Back In'', ''Too Late'', ''Evil Twin'' and ''Split Personality'' were all written. None of those appeared on the original demo board. ''20 Eyes'', which we know was recorded but just never released, Chester literally thought they had released it with the album. Lol. ''Hard Life'' is also a song on the original board. I highly doubt it's a demo title for any of those mentioned above, but it could be. So essentially, we have finished versions of all of those songs on the board except for 20 Eyes and whatever song ''Hard Life'' is. It was a completed song like the rest, had vocals and all instruments. Like I said, it could possibly be a demo title for Crawl Back In, Too Late or End Of The World. Crawl Back In seems like the most fitting if I had to call one of those as Hard Life, but I think Hard Life is it's own separate song. Can anyone here (Hahninator, I know you have talked with Ryan and Amir a lot) ask one of them if ''Hard Life'' was a demo title for Crawl Back In, Too Late or End Of The World? I would really like to know.... My biggest dream in life is to be able to have the original Snow White Tan CD or all of the songs and seeds written for MTM, and knowing this about Hard Life would make me feel a little bit better.

Actually, you're wrong. Just listened to NCSM from Krakow and he clearly sings ''demons''. So it isn't from Krakow. The only part that is from Krakow is the beginning speech that leads into the song. It's a mix of London and another random show. See for yourself: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ELd40wt0V4wI've been listening to the audio of this specific video for a long time, and daily, for a while, I would have noticed that error, but just listen closely to both.

Yeah, and if you listen to the instrumental version of Good Goodbye, Halfway Right, and others, Dark Crystal really fits in with all of those, IMO. And I remember reading or hearing somewhere that Mike said Good Goodbye was actually one of the very first songs written for the album, so they both could have popped up around that time of 2015. The band is always writing, and they said they started work in 2015, there is even that video of the band working on new music right after Chester broke his ankle in early 2015. Mike usually starts all the songs, I think, but I bet other members do as well. I know Valentine's Day was one of the first songs written for MTM, and when I asked Mike about what the lyrics are about at Holmdel 2014, he said you'd have to ask Chester, he wrote that one. So I know Chester came up with the song, and like I said, one of the first written for MTM, interesting that it made the cut. But good because it's one of my fav songs. It's cool how LP works. But yeah, you're right. And we now know about Chester in November 2016 (fuck TMZ, though). I understand why it was delayed now. I remember the band wanted it out in June 2016, and it was going to be, but now I understand why it had so much delays. In Rolling Stone from August of this year, Ryan said that Chester started drinking again to blackout in mid 2016. So then that, plus the November thing, and then 2017, man... I don't think the band could have helped Chester. They helped him so much in the past, they saved him in 2006, Chester said that everyone in Linkin Park went to his house to help him and he ended up getting help. Sometimes you just can't help, I guess. I still don't think he should have been left alone, especially on Chris's birthday, but I have no place to say that, I'm just speaking from a fan's point of view, but with a history of suicidal attempts and thoughts... But then again, you don't ever want to think that someone might kill themselves, it's hard... I think Ryan said it best earlier this year. He said that a sane Chester wouldn't have done it, that he was mentally unwell and wasn't sane at the time, I agree, I don't think Chester ever wanted to hurt anybody, he probably didn't even think about it like that, because depression can really fuck with a person's head. So sad all around. I don't want to get too dark here, but there is an interview from 2017, where Chester flat out says that ''he hated everyone in his life, all of his relationships were failing, with his family and friends, he didn't like doing anything anymore, nothing makes him happy, etc.'' when talking about 2015-2017. You could tell Mike was trying to help him with it all just based off of his reaction, cuz he was sitting right next to Chester while he said it. It's somewhere in this interview. 24:24 he starts. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pfoV2L2MkQ4Idk, talking about this stuff, it helps me. I know some people don't want to talk about what happened with Chester, but it has helped me deal with it. I mean all of this stuff was nothing new, Chester always was open about his depression and his drinking, etc. He has said it in like 1000 interviews, even the one above from this year.

Ahh. Nice catch.

Man, Krakow had the best NCSM, IMO. They should have just used that one. Chester also messed up the first line on the CD, he sang ''I'm dancing with my demon'' instead of ''I'm dancing with my demons''. But that's a small thing to pick at, it just annoys me slightly. Should have just fixed all errors on the release - the Sharp Edges error, the NCSM errors and whatever else if there were any.
-
It really does. Especially those 2, but others on the album as well. It also feels like it could have been a completed song, if it had vocals, I could picture rapping and singing from both Mike and Chester on it. Sometimes the demos on LPU don't seem like finished ideas, like Air Force One for example, but Dark Crystal is kind of complete sounding to me. Pretty cool. Homecoming off of LPU12 also seems like a completed song to me. There are a few others over the years. Yeah, they've probably got tons of dates wrong over the years. I still think it's a demo for OML, though. 2015 would have been OML sessions anyways.
-
Yeah man, you're right. I've seen LP 19 times and each and every time was special. Makes you really think. 2017 was such a hard year for us all - no matter who, we all went through a lot this year. This release is a good way to honor Chaz.
-
Chester always had epic stage banter, literally all the way from 2000 to 2017. Not so much from 2009-2015 but it seems like he started bringing back talking between songs again with the 2017 tour, which is cool.

It's a good live release. I like how all the songs flow really well (it annoys me greatly when artists put out live releases that don't all blend together perfectly). The performances are also good. When I listened to recordings of the tour in the past, I didn't think it was that great of a tour. But hearing the tour in a HQ release, when everything sounds good and blends, I like it a lot. I'm happy that we got the OML live recordings for each song. Battle Symphony doesn't actually sound shitty with this release, something I'm happy about, because all other live rips I've heard of it sounded bad, but it sounds good here. The whole release is pretty solid, IMO. The first live album we have received since November 2008, next November, that will be TEN YEARS ago. So this is great to have. I forgot completely about that Download Festival 2014 release because it sounded so terrible that I even preferred the fan cell phone quality level bootleg compared to it. Haha. At least this release really sounds great and I'm happy we will have this to remember Chester for. We all know that Chester's favorite thing ever was to be on stage and play songs live more than studio, so this is a really great way to honor him and remember him, IMO. Thank you LP.

Having to watch an entire live video is too time consuming for me but I really like the audio from Sharp Edges on this live album. If you get over the error that Astat mentioned in the other thread, it's not bad.

TTM sounds different than Sopron... but idk. Is it confirmed that it's Sopron for sure??
-
Listening to LOATR now... sounds really good! I'm glad we got a proper release of this version. What I've Done also sounds good with the new intro. Can't really help as far as determining which songs are from which shows, since I haven't listened to enough of modern shows to be able to tell. But I'm sure someone on this site will know.
-
OSC, I couldn't care less about, we have like a million live rips of that song, and I'm so sick of early LP at this point because I've listened to it soooooo much. COG would have been cool to have but it's whatever. I think this is a solid release for the most part. Literally the only thing I would have changed about it is having BIO from Vegas, that's it. Other than that, it's a solid release.
-
Was there ever any song info for ''Dark Crystal'' off of LPU16? I've been playing it lately and it really reminds me a lot of the instrumentals for songs off of OML. I know they started writing OML in 2015 so it's possible it's a demo from OML. Sounds totally like OML, IMO, the most out of the other 2015 demos on LPU16 by far.
-
Hope we can get it before Christmas. Would be a nice gift for me. Lol.

The band has been obsessed with Germany for the longest time. They have probably played in Germany more times than any other place in the world. I think in 2014 they played like 8 shows in Germany alone. I expected the release to heavily feature a German show. I don't really get why because Europe has a bunch of other cool places and a lot of the crowds in Europe outside of Germany are good too. South America is also another epic place. U.S. too. But nope, always Germany.

What's the story with Good Goodbye? Is it still messed up or is it fixed?
-
Epic that we got NCSM from Krakow.... I have an audience recording of it and I listen to it all the time. Nice to know we will be getting a good quality version. I also like how they did some Birmingham performances, being Chester's final show and all. I do wish there were one Vegas performance but I know it's all from Europe. Should have done BIO from Vegas since they didn't use a BIO with MGK. Vegas's BIO had Strange Love by Depeche Mode, one of Chester's favorite bands. Would have been nice to have. Other than that, seems like a solid release.

Yeah, you're right. They probably did get more than OML itself. OML wasn't really a huge selling album until after Chester died. It's now become kind of like a cult classic because of it since and sold a ton since like August. I bet this live album did get a lot of pre-orders. I only ordered one but I will probably pick up another copy if I see one in a store like Best Buy, Target, FYE, etc.

Yeah dude, I agree. I think Chester was pretty much done with life by 2006 but Talinda helped pull him out of the dark. It could possibly be why MTM had some really dark songs, as we know Chester actually contributed a lot to that record, like OML. I don't hate Sam, but it is uncalled for. Sam was married to Chester for 9 years and also knew him for a while before that, before all the fame and stuff too, keep in mind. I think they both are going through really hard times right now. But yeah, I totally agree with you on all of that. The fans lost someone too, you know? I think it was a good tribute and it helped the fans heal as well. She shouldn't be saying that stuff... it's all just a mess.
