I love it, if there is a new album, I hope it has this direction with this kind of musical style, PT was good but I miss so much this type of music.

Mike has confirmed there is no new album coming. He will also not be playing shows any time soon.

Awesome song. This is what I expected from Mike. Using guitars in songs. Typical LP guitar sounds. If it's mixed by Andy Wallace it would have louder guitars and it would sound more heavy than it is. Mike should do more songs like this. 👌🏻👍🏻

So, it's just a single or he will release songs sporadically?

Seems like he’s going the “drop a single whenever I feel inspired, make a song, and that song is ready” route rather than crafting an album and releasing that.

I wish he would drop an album and tour, as doing a single once every whenever is not going to sustain his popularity in the mainstream, especially with no touring to promote his music. I still regularly will recommend his music to people, but it’s been 6 years and he’s dropped one album and a few singles.

Not to sound dramatic, but with Mike insisting that there are no plans for an MS album or tour it’s starting to feel like he’s semi-retired at this point and is more comfortable working as a producer/writer with younger artists and just dropping a single of his own here and there.

yeah sad. insular single releases like that are just not as memorable. i understand if he doesn't want to tour, that takes time and effort to setup after all

but all this talk about a "new era" just makes me think of a set of songs, at least an EP, not just one (kind of short) track

The music video is pretty cool, no AI goofy looking shit. Song's cool even if I personally prefer the Hip Hop vibe, either way, can't wait to hear more random releases from him.

If there's a way for then to make up,them hopefully

I believe they already did years ago over that 'Welcome' unreleased remix misunderstanding, but the feeling is that their relationship hasn't been that close for a long time now. And he's more into making music with new people and not already established artists so, unlikely.

That HT t-shirt looks good.

I wish they would've re-released some for HT20.

This song actually rules, it would be a big shame if there's not at least one or two followup songs on the way of a similar energy to really make the mood come alive

Yeah, each time I come back to it after a break of couple hours, it sounds better 😃

I'm starting to feel this is the best stuff Mike has done in a long while. It has the kind of urgency/excitement that was one of LP prime weapons, and that I've been missing in his work.

Well said, fav Mike song since Promises I can’t keep.

Song is a short banger and will sound even better live. The bridge could have been more substantial, but I do like the frantic energy of the song. It's for sure the most LP-like out of Mike's solo work aside from Promises I Can't Keep.

New music is always exciting, but I'm more excited about seeing him live. I missed the Post Traumatic tour, I'm not missing the next one, whenever that is.

Nice, he seemed to confirm there's more music on the way even though it's not an album on his discord post.

Yeah, more music is on the way which is awesome. Thank god Already Over is not a standalone track. I also read he's gonna tour at some point so it's not like somebody said here he's semi retired.

To be honest I think the song is simplistic and not that interesting - but it’s new music so I’ll take it. But let’s be honest this is not some of Mike’s best, most creative work.

Sad but true

Arright, I needed to give it the weekend to really dive deep into the song and feel for the energy, and I gotta say, it gets better with each listen. Maybe that's just me. I find some relatability to the lyrics, especially with some recent events i've personally been dealing with. While at a first glance, it's a song about LP's future, this is the thing I love with Mike's music, man. There isn't just one solid meaning. He can make it mean something to almost anyone. The energy is hype, it's not super long track but it makes you know it's here and I really appreciate it for what it is. Excited to see what else the future is gonna hold here.
