GlassCastles Posted March 9, 2017 Posted March 9, 2017 The band has kept the music video for 'Heavy' under wraps for the last few months, but the video is finally here! Linkin Park & Kiiara's music video for the first single from the band's seventh album One More Light is out now! Linkin Park has been working on this video for a little over a month at this point. Filming first allegedly started back in the beginning of February - we learned about it just as we learned about Kiiara featuring on the single! The original description of the ad looking for actors described the roles as "interesting characters meet in a therapy session." The filming took place on February 6 and 7, in partnership with Mercedes-AMG, who also sponsored the band's China tour in 2015. On top of that filming, the band was also filmed performing at The Whisky for some promo shots for Mercedes-AMG's 50-year anniversary. While not the music video, it is also worth noting that the lyric video (directed by Aaron Himes) for 'Heavy' has surpassed 14 and a half million views since it was uploaded on February 16 - that's pretty damn impressive! 'Heavy' is doing incredibly well on the charts, all things considered, and hopefully this music video will give the song another push to help it keep going. What are your thoughts on the 'Heavy' music video? It's the first music video we've seen since 'Darker Than Blood' in 2015, and the first solely Linkin Park music video since 2014. Are you excited to see more videos for upcoming singles from the record? Make sure to read up on 'Heavy' and One More Light on Linkinpedia - there's loads and loads of information to prepare you for the album release in May. In other LP news, the band may be performing some surprise shows this month and the band's November Asia Tour is expected to be announced in mid-April. Soeffingnaive92 Posted March 9, 2017 Posted March 9, 2017 Perfect for The song . Love The idea of The double - you that pushes you up in Heavy situations and tells you to never back down Quote
mrfox Posted March 9, 2017 Posted March 9, 2017 Great video! Finally something with story and lack of pathetic slow-mo studio shots. Like it a lot. Quote
Jesper Posted March 9, 2017 Posted March 9, 2017 Great video indeed. I am glad they did something without the 'usual' band shots and slo-mo shots they have done multiply times the last few eras. Quote
FLAME-XIII Posted March 9, 2017 Posted March 9, 2017 i loooove this song and this video. i love this sound, reminds me Coldplay Quote
xxHybridXeroxx Posted March 9, 2017 Posted March 9, 2017 Video is great. Really puts the song into perspective. Quote
morfeo Posted March 9, 2017 Posted March 9, 2017 The video works fine with Heavy lyrics. I'm cool with that shot. Finally something with "plot", and, finally, the-same-dancing-style-for-music-vids of Chester has gone. Quote
sotrix Posted March 9, 2017 Posted March 9, 2017 What's everyone's opinion on the product placement? Quote
tfae Posted March 9, 2017 Posted March 9, 2017 Much better than I expected. the-same-dancing-style-for-music-vids of Chester has gone. This. This. This. This! Quote
KeysToTheLinkinPark Posted March 9, 2017 Posted March 9, 2017 What's everyone's opinion on the product placement? The AMG is there for like 6 seconds so I don't think it is too bad. If they use the car to drive around with it for the majority of the video it would concern me more. Quote
Justin Posted March 9, 2017 Posted March 9, 2017 What's everyone's opinion on the product placement? It was pretty tastefully done in my opinion. We all knew it was coming, so for the car to only be in the video for less than 10 seconds, I would say it's not that big of a deal. Quote
Igussek Posted March 9, 2017 Posted March 9, 2017 I see this rich Mercedes car as example that you can have a lot of money etc. but these "heavy" stuff still happens. It's my way to excuse this product placement Quote
marzo23 Posted March 9, 2017 Posted March 9, 2017 LP feat Kiiara live at Echo Award in Berlin CONFIRMED!!6th April 2017 http://www.echopop.de/pop-presse-detailansicht/controller/News/action/detail/news/xavier-naidoo-und-sasha-praesentieren-echo-2017-bei-vox/ Quote
mattyice318 Posted March 9, 2017 Posted March 9, 2017 One of the best music videos they've released in the past 10 years Quote
LeonardoMF93 Posted March 9, 2017 Posted March 9, 2017 It reminded Shadow Of The Day music video but I don't know why. It's a great video for such bad song! Besides that, it's always amazing watch a member of the band acting in the videos! Quote
RickLPL Posted March 9, 2017 Posted March 9, 2017 Amazing video, I really like the cinematic look of it. I feel like this could be turned into a movie. Sadly, it's another video not directed by Joe. Quote
lpliveusername Posted March 9, 2017 Posted March 9, 2017 What's everyone's opinion on the product placement? For me, it feels forced and kind of out of place. You have a lot of scenes going really fast in the beginning and then they just focus on the car for a really long time. But like everyone said, at least it was only shown once. Quote
marzo23 Posted March 9, 2017 Posted March 9, 2017 the new BMW 5er is also on the same bridge in the new ad xD Quote
RogueSoul Posted March 9, 2017 Posted March 9, 2017 Lovely video. Hopefully this puts the perspective of the song into some people's eyes. Quote
rd1994 Posted March 9, 2017 Posted March 9, 2017 Worst LP video with LPs worst song, how fitting. Quote
crazygolfer Posted March 9, 2017 Posted March 9, 2017 Worst LP video with LPs worst song, how fitting. Salty lol. Anyway, if you think this isn't better than GATS' music video then I really don't even know what to say except laugh. Quote
Astat Posted March 9, 2017 Posted March 9, 2017 With the exception of Final Masquerade, Linkin Park music videos from the past decade or so have more or less been things that I watch once, shrug, then forget about. This isn't going to be any exception. Quote
rd1994 Posted March 9, 2017 Posted March 9, 2017 Salty lol. Anyway, if you think this isn't better than GATS' music video then I really don't even know what to say except laugh. For me that even isn't a music video so I am not including it. its almost like an extended trailer for a game with the LP song behind it. Quote
