Instead of putting all the effort into re-learning all of those songs and playing a 30-song set that would probably wreck Chester's voice to the point of requiring surgery afterwards, how about they just release a PR04 DVD?

I think they just decided not to bring the newer stage setup to Africa with them. They have 3 touring rigs for almost all of their gear, but I think they only have 2 copies of the newer stage with the ramps and stuff.

You can't even fucking get into Canada with a 15-year old misdemeanor on your record these days, so this doesn't surprise me. Nobody wants to let people from the U.S. into their country anymore (unless they've got a shitload of money, of course).

I have a hunch we'll see Castle of Glass at these shows. Maybe one other new song.

True, that one made it onto the BID promo disc...I tend to forget about songs with noticeably out-of-tune guitars on them though.

Yeah, this one's at least listenable...the beat doesn't seem to match up with the vocals very well at the beginning of the song, but it gets better as it goes. But FFS, will LP EVER do another rock remix of a song? The last one they did that was even remotely close was Mike's remix of Leave Out All the Rest, which came out like 4 years ago... Also bummed that we were led to believe that at least some of these remixes were going to be done by LP themselves, when that's apparently not the case...

That's definitely a rosewood fretboard. He's had that one for a while, it's also in some of the Living Things studio footage. He has 3 Precisions, one in each rig: White/tortoise shell, sunburst/white, and sunburst/tortoise shell.

I think there's a certain "waiting period" that LP wants to adhere to when it comes to releasing demos from their most recent album, they're probably worried that putting the demos out there so soon after the album's release would take away from it somehow. Probably the same reason we didn't get any ATS demos on LPU 11 other than Robot Boy (which was really just the album version with an alternate vocal take) and I Have Not Begun (which isn't really an ATS demo anyway, it's basically a leftover Fort Minor track that wasn't recorded until 2009).

Just throwing this out there: If Pictureboard was one of those "you HAVE to hear this, how did this not make an album?!" type of songs like Across the Line and a few other demos we've gotten over the years, I'm pretty sure they'd have worked out a way to release it by now (either that, or it would have "accidentally" leaked somewhere...). Generally, if the music is good enough, issues like sample clearances can usually be worked out. It's not like money is an issue to a band like LP. I'd obviously still like to see the song released someday, but even without having heard it, I have a feeling it's probably mediocre at best.

Suffragette City was a given as soon as he said he'd be doing something by David Bowie, he's done that one numerous times before.

Carousel was likely played live in the pre-Hybrid Theory album release days, as evidenced by samples from it being on the Tasty Gas Station Breaks from the Orient vinyl that Joe used during live shows from that period. We've just never been able to track down a specific date that it was performed.

...It baffles me how people can argue that LITE and COG "aren't singles." They both have music videos, they both have CD singles, both either already have or will be released to radio, and both either already have or will be released as digital singles. Pretty sure they'll be playing LITE at this show. Even if they surprise us and debut COG in South Africa, LITE is a much better choice for this type of performance. Always want to bring the energy when you're only playing one song.

...I really don't get it. If people want to hear the crowd so badly on DSPs...why don't they just go listen to audience recordings?

The only parts of COG that Mike sings by himself are the first half of the first verse and the "for you to see" after the first chorus. Everything else is either Chester/Mike doubled or Chester alone.

They shot individual performance footage for each band member when they did that video, but they barely used any of it. I don't think there are any shots of Mike playing keys in the final cut of the video either.

The Carson TV broadcast was another Ethan Mates mix. If Pooch mixed a DSP recording for it, it's probably a different source entirely.

Everything in the background is in the original version of the song. They've been using various combinations of the multitracks from the album version in all the Medal of Honor promo videos.

That Roads Untraveled remix would've been decent if they hadn't tried to set a 6/8 song to a 4/4 beat...*facepalm* It amazes me how amateur a lot of these "official" remixes have been lately.
