  1. Some sources were reporting a 10:25 start time for LP, some were saying 10:35. Either way, they're only off by a few minutes.
  2. I think it's getting a bit old at this point...particularly as a "tribute" to MCA, considering he died nearly 5 months ago. I kind of miss Rob's drum solos, to be honest.
  3. Screens look kind of like some of the stuff from Victimized.
  4. The whole "uber-medley" idea seems the most plausible...pretty sure they're playing this show with only a day's worth of rehearsals, so I doubt we'll see any new songs debuted at this show. What they rehearsed prior to the Honda Civic Tour is pretty much what we're looking to get, strictly from a songs standpoint...what they decide to do arrangement-wise is the big question mark.
  5. At the Live Earth show in 2007, Rhianna was actually at the side of the stage dancing during most of LP's performance. She performed right after them, and is apparently a huge LP fan.
  6. I'm predicting around 10 or 11 songs...just a hunch. I THINK that "half hour slot" they have to work with is either fairly lenient, or they convinced the promoters to give them a bit more time.
  7. I'm working on adding an "Amps/Effects" section to my site, I just have a lot of work to do on it. Does the GT-100 have a "Slow Gear" effect on it anywhere? I know the GT-8 had it but I think they cut it out of the GT-10. That'd be your best bet, as the Boss Slow Gear was a pedal that basically filtered out the attack of each note you play (good luck finding an original one though). I think you could also recreate something similar with the Slicer pedal if you tinkered with it enough, but I have zero experience with that effect. *Edit* One other thing I forgot to mention, the reason Brad uses the expression pedal/G-Major patch combo for the Waiting For the End solo instead of using the HOG like LP does for all of their other pitch-shifting effects: The HOG is all analog and doesn't track as well as a lot of digital equipment does (it's also very finicky - you can't really store presets on it and expect to get a consistent sound every time you turn it on, you always need to tweak it a bit), and the WFTE solo really needs to be played with an expression/"Whammy-style" pedal to get the right feel. Brad's expression pedal is already hooked up to a MIDI cable that's about 75 feet long - WAY longer than your standard MIDI cable. With digital gear that tracks perfectly, this isn't an issue, but hooking it up to a piece of analog gear like the HOG would result in some pretty serious latency issues. Apparently they tried using the HOG for that solo during rehearsals at one point, but it just wasn't working out.
  8. Some more guitar rig-related stuff to mention: -Brad no longer uses the MXR Micro Amp as a boost, instead he has an MXR/Custom Audio Electronics Boost/Line Driver pedal that now serves that function, although it's pretty much always on these days (his tech likes to keep the booster and one of the Boss CS-3 compressors on at all times to help thicken up the overall sound). -The Boss BF-3 Flanger is no longer a part of Brad's rig (I think I may have mentioned this before), it's been replaced by a new pedal, a Devi Ever Shoegazer fuzz pedal, which is used on Burn it Down (it was also used quite a bit in the studio during the Living Things sessions). -Both Brad and Mike have a new piece of rack-mounted gear that plays a significant role for certain guitar parts: a Drawmer DS-201 Dual Gate. This is a VERY unique noise gate that can actually be externally triggered via a "guide track" from Pro Tools, which they use to create stuttering/"killswitch" sounds. It's used on Mike's guitar part throughout Lies Greed Misery, as well as on both guitar parts during the chorus of Victimized and the intro of Lost in the Echo. It's also being used on Points of Authority to more accurately recreate the chopped-up guitar sound from the original studio recording - listen to some recent live performances of POA and compare the guitar sound to some older performances, HUGE difference in how it sounds. -The Electro-Harmonix HOG is still in use in both Brad and Mike's guitar rigs as well. It was only used by each of them on one song during the A Thousand Suns cycle (Brad on Wretches and Kings and Mike on Waiting For the End), but it also plays a major role throughout Victimized, and is also used by Brad during the breakdown in the middle of Lost in the Echo. -Brad's Rory Gallagher Strat is now splitting stage use with a newer Strat, a sunburst Road Worn '60s Strat that was initially used in the Waiting For the End music video. He tends to use the Rory Gallagher Strat on MTM/ATS songs, and the Road Worn Strat on Lost in the Echo/In My Remains. Some other performance notes on newer songs: -Lost in the Echo: Phoenix uses the M-Audio Trigger Finger for samples during the verses and breakdown, Joe and Phoenix both sing some backing vocals. There's also a backing track for some additional backing vocals, it's especially noticeable towards the end of the song on the Carson televised performance. -In My Remains: Phoenix and Brad both sing the gang vocal part at the end, which is again augmented by a backing track. -Victimized: Phoenix and Brad both play samples in various parts of the song.
  9. http://lplive.net/shows/20120827.php "- Mike's guitar malfunctioned at some point between the end of the intro to the first chorus of 'What I've Done'. Brad was the only one playing guitar for the entire song not counting the intro. Mike attempted to make up for it by playing his usual chords on the keyboard." Not even close to what actually happened...watch this video: Mike's guitar was just out of tune from the start of the song, he played all the way through the first chorus then took the guitar off, his tech took it, ran off stage and re-tuned it, then gave it back to him in time to play the outro. He only played keys in place of the regular guitar part in the second chorus/guitar solo/first part of the third chorus.
  10. How is this still not news?
  11. It's also entirely possible that the dates of the CD pressings don't correlate with when the recordings themselves date from. If this was a promo CD sent to 99X, maybe these were just the most recent versions of the songs they were authorized to send to people outside the label at that point.
  12. The part about the festival setlist is interesting...had no idea they only got a 30-minute slot. Sounds like they might break out something unique since there's no way they can play all of their hits anyway...kind of excited to see what they do!
  13. Mike-produced instrumentals are always solid stuff. Looking forward to this! Surprised they didn't include Castle of Glass on the soundtrack though...although this seems more like a "score" than a soundtrack, so maybe it wouldn't have made sense.
  14. I had a discussion with Mark on this WAY back in the early days of the live guide...I can't for the life of me remember the logic we came up with, but we thought for some reason that we shouldn't list CFTI and Session on setlists since they were show intros, and we didn't list any of the other untitled show intro instrumentals the band has used over the years. Session wound up being added to the live guide at some point, but CFTI never did...despite them being basically the same thing: Joe scratching and playing samples over the pre-recorded album version track. I agree, I think it makes more sense for CFTI to be included now.
  15. Chester's voice is always pretty shot by the end of a show, regardless of what selection/order of songs they play. He puts himself through a lot over the course of an hour and 45 minutes every night. That's pretty much why they elected to drop Crawling, because not only is it extremely tough to sing in the first place, it's even harder to do so when they play it as late in the set as they typically do. I personally don't think he sounded THAT bad at this show...there have been times in the last couple years where he's had MUCH rougher nights.
  16. 2007: Atlanta, Cuyahoga Falls, Nagoya 2008: Paris, Sacramento, Toronto, Woodlands 2009: Graz, Stuttgart, Macao 2010: Hamburg, London (both nights), Tel Aviv I don't have anything from 2011 except for Sunrise and Tampa, so I'm of no use to you for that year.
  17. ... Pretty much this.
  18. LOL, wow, that might be the greatest DSP goof-up ever. I can tell exactly what happened - Pooch mixed the delay effects for Chester's screams in the bridge, then left the original vocal track without the delay effect muted...so up until the last chorus, the only Chester vocals you hear are the echoes on his bridge screams. That's hilarious.
  19. Finally got the damn thing to work...the scenery of this video is cool, and the whole "crumbling" thing at the end made it interesting, but other than that, the whole video is just...awkward. It doesn't help that it decided to pull the dumbest photos it possibly could off my Facebook page.
  20. Can't watch the video - site says I need to have at least Flash Player 10...I have the latest version, which is like 11.4 or something like that?
  21. Why are we making note of When They Come For Me being "w/megaphone" on show pages now? That song has never NOT had the megaphone.
  22. Chester's indicated that they'll do another U.S. tour before the end of the cycle, but with the timing of the Soundwave shows, I think it's more likely that they'll be back here next summer for another amphitheater tour.
  23. Now the question is...does anybody on here actually have AXS TV? I've never even heard of it.
  24. ...So Victimized, Lost in the Echo, and In My Remains aren't from Living Things now? News to me.
