...Every single person who has posted a setlist in this thread except for the first post has had Too Late in their setlist...
-
Well, Chester seemed to imply that they'll be playing the whole album. Whether that means from start to finish, or just playing all the songs, remains to be seen. But assuming they don't play everything in order, here's my prediction: 01. Fire 02. Inside of Me 03. Into You 04. Too Late 05. Condemned 06. Let Down 07. Give Me Your Name 08. In the Darkness 09. Anything, Anything (Dramarama cover) 10. End of the World 11. Walking in Circles 12. My Suffering ----- 13. Crawl Back In 14. 20 Eyes (Misfits Cover) 15. Morning After ...Or something like that.

I think the thing that stands out the most to me about this song is the style of screaming Chester uses on it. This is really the first time he's gone into a more high-pitched shrieking...almost "screamo" kind of voice on one of his screaming parts. I don't know if that was intentional, or a product of how his voice has changed in recent years, or what, but it's definitely something I haven't heard from him before.
-
I think this is the "song that sounds like T-Rex" that Chester was referring to way back in the first interview where he discussed Snow White Tan in 2005. It's definitely got that kind of vibe to it.
-
Because love songs totally suck and have no business existing whatsoever. Give Me Your Name is a better musical piece than anything Linkin Park has done in their entire career. Ever. The lyrics are debatable, but only ignorant, closed-minded people would write this song off solely based on the lyrics.
-
Maybe they never finished filming the Let Down video in the first place?
-
Possibly the best song on the album, it's either this song or Walking in Circles for me.
-
He sings in tune more often than Chester does these days.
-
All of them. LP's 2010 set will consist of a nightly 2-hour improv jam session.
-
Err...the vocal track is not the same. The drums are different. The guitars are different. The arrangement is totally different. The only thing that's the same is some of the sound effects/keyboards.
-
I prefer the '01 version. I actually like the full band arrangement of the song better, but the '01 version was pitched half a step lower and I think it sounds better that way. The vocals have more grit to them in that key because Chester doesn't have to strain as much to hit the high notes.

WID: They stopped using the AMBO intro completely for the summer '08 European tour. If they stopped doing an intro/outro for an extended period like that but continued playing the song, I broke up the dates. TLTGYA, you're right about that. Fixed. The vocal parts on KRWLNG are part of the album version anyway, so whether they're present or not doesn't really change the intro. There's also only one HHH verse over the KRWLNG portion at any given time, even though they've done both of them. I also added the album version SOTD>WID transition intro as a live intro to WID, I forgot about that one.

Eh...I kind of doubt it. For one, most DBS songs are in standard guitar/bass tuning, which LP doesn't use. It also doesn't make much sense to have to teach the rest of the band to play DBS stuff, their time is better spent on other things. Chester might do a DBS song acoustic by himself though, or something like that. Mike found a way to work FM material into the set with Points of Authority, so if Chester wants to do the same, he'll find a way.
-
Added the Don't Stay one, thanks. I don't really consider FRGT/10 different because Mike was essentially just playing one of the sampled parts from the studio version on piano. That song also fades out at the end on the studio version, so the ending is going to be different live by default (same goes for My December).
-
You're right, my bad. I thought the extended outro came about at the same time as the 2nd intro.
-
Uhh, it's still Wake...with a new intro. Setlist designations don't have any bearing on what constitutes a seperate song. Is "Bleed it Out (Party Mix)" a seperate song from Bleed it Out? No. Wake 2.0 was played at Milton Keynes, and it's still listed as "Wake" on Road to Revolution. It was also still called "Wake" on all the DSPs. If it was a "different song," they would've titled it as such on an official release.
-
And hardly any of them are ever released as singles.

I don't get why everybody's assuming the Japanese release date means it will leak soon/should have leaked already. 1) I still think the September 30th release date is wrong information, it'd be horrible business practice to release your product 2 weeks early in one region like that. That date has not been confirmed by any of the official DBS/LP-related websites, hell, they haven't even released information on packaging details for the album yet. Don't you think they'd do that sooner than 2 days before it's supposed to be available somewhere? 2) Even if it is released on the 30th, this is Japan we're talking about here. As I've discussed in topics relating to setlists/recordings from Japanese shows, for whatever reason, Japan seems to be almost COMPLETELY cut off from everybody else when it comes to the Internet. For such an advanced country, it's almost impossible to even find somebody from Japan on an English-speaking website. I mean we have what, like...two Japanese LPL members? And they hardly ever post anyway. Bottom line, don't count on a leak until stores in Europe and/or North America have received shipments of the album.

This list does not include concert intros that then went into the first song normally (i.e. any of the random instrumentals that went into With You, Don't Stay, etc. when they opened shows), show openers are only included if something was changed in the structure of the song itself. It also only includes intros and outros, not things that were done in the middle of songs. If I'm missing any (good luck thinking of any more, because I sure can't!), let me know. Because we all know that Linkin Park is completely incapable of multitasking.
-
If they're putting that much effort into it, they should just release it on an actual videogame console.
-
Uhh, that's the only one there is...
-
Crawl Back In, Let Down, My Suffering. If they release a 4th one, maybe Into You or something like that...Inside of Me is probably too short to be seriously considered. It'd be the shortest single by a major-label act in...well, I can't even remember how long.
-
My comparison has always been that Brad's "full" distorted sound nowadays sounds about like what his "lo-fi" sound on the Meteora cycle sounded like. It just sounds like there should be somewhere more for it to go, but it never really does. But that's pretty much what you get when you switch from using monster tube amps like Mesa Boogies and Marshalls to using modeling preamps. You sacrifice tone for convenience. Which reminds me...Brad said quite a few times right after when MTM came out that he was going to be putting out a signature model amp emulator through Randall, whatever happened to that?
-
It'll probably be the same 4 songs that are already available. At best, maybe they'll be complete instead of the horribly edited versions that are going around right now.
