  1. Latest additions to my collection are the Transformers 2 soundtrack and the special edition of Death to Analog... Question: How rare is Frat Party in a CD-style jewel case as opposed to the DVD case? I was visiting a friend out of state last week, and she had a copy like that, I had never seen one before. Apparently the Best Buy store where she lives sells them.
  2. No reason to believe that it's not real - All copies of We Major came in clear slimline cases like that with the red FM logo and the cover art sticker 2-sided inlay, and nothing else. The type of cases also varied slightly, the copies I got from the street team came in slightly different cases than the one that came with my FMM membership package. The only odd thing about your copy is the barcode sticker on the back, but that looks like it was put on there by a used CD store that someone sold it to at one point.
  3. Somebody who has a copy of The Seed handy, is that one of Joe's instrumental songs from it? That was my first thought but I don't have the video handy to check.
  4. ...Not even close. Like, more than 15 years not even close.
  5. I still don't believe for a second that this album is being released in Japan 2 weeks before it is anywhere else.
  6. I clearly said "none of Chester's solo material that's come out to this point." That means Morning After, Let Down, Crawl Back In, Fire, Walking in Circles, My Suffering, and In the Darkness. The chorus of Let Down is so simple from a lyrical standpoint that it could've been written in 2 minutes. We don't know who wrote what on most Linkin Park songs. Mike writes all of his rap parts, but they both write some of the singing parts. Also, I didn't infer in any way that Chester wrote those songs himself, I was making a comparison. But Meteora was the album Chester had the biggest hand in writing the lyrics for (some of the Hybrid Theory material was written before he joined the band or by Mike, and Mike wrote a ton of lyrics for Minutes to Midnight), and it's by far their weakest lyrical work. Probably not a coincidence.
  7. I'm pretty sure that's This Is How I Disappear. There's "Engrish" in a couple of the other track titles - "Knights of SAIDONIA," for example.
  8. I'm gonna go ahead and call bullshit on this one. Anyway...I've always felt that Mike was the stronger lyricist in Linkin Park. None of Chester's solo material that's come out to this point has given me any reason to think otherwise. For what it is, Crawl Back In isn't a bad song, but from a lyrical standpoint, it's borderline cringe-worthy in the same vein as Numb or Don't Stay. I'm also not a fan of how over-produced Chester's vocals sound on this. Not a very impressive guitar solo from Amir either, compared to what I know he's capable of.
  9. Everybody's voice changes throughout their life. Chester was 24 when Hybrid Theory came out, and most guys' voices continue to change/settle throughout their 20s. Chester didn't sound the same in 2003 as he did in 2000, and he didn't sound the same in 2000 as he did with Grey Daze in the mid-90s either. Show me a singer who's had a long career and not had their voice change at all, and I'll show you a freak of nature.
  10. Evil Twin and Split Personality were NOT in any previous videos/pictures.
  11. There's a couple more working titles that we hadn't heard about before visible on the board in this video - "Split Personality" and "Evil Twin." Thought that was worth mentioning.
  12. Mike produced a track for the new Cypress Hill album, he's not featured on it vocally. He blogged about it a while back.
  13. Explain why I've had an identical mp3 to the second one on my hard drive for 4 years then. Same length, same number of repeats, same intro, same ending. If it was edited by you, why the hell were you asking about it in the first place?
  14. The first one is entirely fan-made, and pretty well-done at that. The 2nd and 3rd links are just different attempts by different people to do the same thing: Make something "song-like" out of the clips from the LPTV episode/Making of Meteora DVD by removing the parts that had talking over them and looping the other parts. I know the 4shared one was made by Energy from LP:Fuse and posted on that site back in 2003. So the 2nd and 3rd ones are "real," the first one is not.

    DBS tabs

Depending on how into the album I am and how easily I can figure out the guitar parts, I plan on at least attempting to tab the DBS songs when they come out. I've tried (unsuccessfully) in the past to do a tab of the Morning After remix, but there's so much interplay between the guitars and the synths that it always gave me too much trouble. Hopefully the album songs aren't like that.
  16. Let's see...Dead By Sunrise was officially announced as an act at Sonisphere, so yes, they did pay for them. It was also confirmed well in advance that they'd be performing as part of Linkin Park's set, so it's their fault for not knowing. I also hear few, if any, similarities to Green Day. But then again, it's a UK show. Nowhere else in the world will you find people who think it's acceptable to piss in a bottle and throw it at people on stage, so logical thinking and researching the show they bought tickets for is probably too much to expect of them.
  17. Other than volume/mastering, there aren't any differences.
  18. If they were to replace Session with anything, it'd either be Wake or some other type of intro piece. They'll always have some type of intro "song" at every show, whether it be an extended intro to the first song of the set or some kind of standalone instrumental. I would venture to say that 80% of bands don't change their setlists on a show-by-show basis. People are only upset that LP isn't doing so because they've been somewhat spoiled by the rotating sets from 07-08. There are more changes on a show-to-show basis on this tour with the varying intros/outros to POA, the occasional presence of DBS, the HHH/Crawling switchups, etc., than there ever were on any tours prior to 2007.
  19. Official tracklisting: 01. Fire 02. Crawl Back In 03. Too Late 04. Inside of Me 05. Let Down 06. Give Me Your Name 07. My Suffering 08. Condemned 09. Into You 10. End of the World 11. Walking in Circles 12. In the Darkness 13. Morning After (Bonus Track) Same as what was reported before, except for the typo on "Give Me Your Name."

    My Suffering

Because it doesn't sound like Linkin Park circa 2000-2006 and that's all most narrow-minded Linkin Park fans ever want to hear.
  21. I don't know what you guys are hearing that I'm not, but Mike completely screwed up the first line when he switched from High Voltage to Bloc Party. That was absolutely 100% a mistake.
  22. Astat

    My Suffering

Considering the lyrics between the two versions are COMPLETELY different, I would say with about 98% certainty that that was not the case.
  23. Astat

    My Suffering

Doesn't make much of a difference to me, the music is what made the song IMO, and that hasn't really changed at all.
  24. http://www.lplive.net/dbs.php - DBS is NOT playing in Okinawa, as per their Myspace page.
  25. Prepare to be disappointed then, because confirmed means confirmed.
