  1. Regarding today's show, I think it would be more appropriate to list Mann's Village Theater as the venue as opposed to Wilshire Boulevard, as the theater is the specific location on Wilshire Boulevard where they're playing. Just listing the street as the venue could imply any part of the street.
  2. That's exactly what happens for most secret shows, it's not cost-effective to have to provide transportation for people that can't get there on their own. And if they open up secret show tickets to people outside the area, they'll just wind up playing to way fewer people than the number of tickets they gave out...oh wait, that's EXACTLY what's going to happen with this show since a bunch of people who really had no business applying for tickets in the first place wound up winning a crapload of them.
  3. Well, New Divide was last out of the 6 songs they played for the MFR/Socialvibe winners on Wednesday. It'll probably be the same setlist order on Monday's show. That makes me think it'll be near the end of their full-length sets, although I do think it'd make a nice opener. I still think they may not even do 3 rotating setlists like they did through most of the last cycle, with this being a pretty short run of 14 shows. That'd mean each set would only get played 4 or 5 times. They might do 2 sets or just have a few songs that rotate every night while keeping the core of the set the same. Also, Joe said in the LPU chat that he hasn't been working on any new intros/outros for songs for this upcoming tour, and they didn't play any at the show on Wednesday. They even used the same intro to What I've Done that they did for most of '08 and the outro to Faint that they've been doing since '07, which makes me think there won't be a whole lot of changes to songs on this run.
  4. I'm sure if you can find a way there, they'd still let you in. They probably just said it was limited to SoCal people because they aren't doing any kind of flyaways for this.
  5. As far as recordings go, I'm guessing the show on Monday is the one that we'll get footage from, if we get any at all. I know Fuse was there filming the rehearsal, but I don't see why there'd be a big push to get footage of a rehearsal on TV when the show on Monday will be for a lot more people. Let's see how long it takes for LP management to complain about LPLive mentioning Third Encore by name this time, even though it's a public facility that LP's mentioned by name themselves numerous times.
  6. I think everything in Nest that's not initially from New Divide was just whatever Steve added to it. There's some guitar notes in there that aren't in New Divide, but it sounds like he just pitch-shifted the existing parts as needed (he already slowed it down substantially so there's no reason why he wouldn't do other editing to it). There's some scratching parts in there, but I think those are present in the verses of the original song and Steve just brought them up to make them more prominent. Plus, the film score is never indicative of exactly what's in the movie anyway. They always use a combination of score music and stuff from the film soundtrack, and they almost never use all of a selected piece in the movie itself. All of the film score stuff will likely be in the movie at some point, but only in small portions. New Divide is supposed to be in the movie like 16 different times, so Steve/Hans probably just pulled various samples from the song to use in different spots (think Leave Out All the Rest in CSI for example). Nest is worthy of an inclusion on the score because it's an original piece of work, it just happens to use portions of New Divide in it.
  7. I actually like the whole thing. As a score, it's hard for me to pick it apart into individual tracks that I prefer since it mostly sounds like background music (which is really the point of a score anyway). Nest is obviously neat for how it weaves around parts of New Divide, but I like listening to the whole thing. I'm not a guy who typically listens to film scores though, so I'm not going to be the best critic.
  8. Ahh, hadn't seen that, guess that means the UK release date was pushed back to the 22nd or 23rd then. Jeez, there have been so many repeated delays with almost everything regarding this song, whoever's in charge of setting LP's release dates these days really needs to get fired.
  9. It already is out. It's been out since the 12th in Germany and the 16th in the UK.
  10. It's already been confirmed that New Divide shows up well over a dozen times in the movie. The film score CD is NOT indicative of all of the music that will be heard during the film itself, it never is.
  11. Or maybe the rest of the LP music in the movie is just direct samples of New Divide, rather than new music built around it, which is pretty much what they've been saying all along. It's already been confirmed that New Divide shows up in the movie like 16 times. Has ANYBODY bought the single yet? I'm amazed the instrumental/acapella still haven't leaked anywhere.
  12. The film score has leaked, just figured I'd let people know if they didn't already. "Nest" is the only piece on the score that features any elements from New Divide, I'm assuming the rest of the interpolations of the song in the movie will just be direct samples from the song itself.
  13. Somebody should probably add the upcoming Dead By Sunrise show to the Chester section at some point. July 4th - Steve Wyrick Theater, Las Vegas, NV (Club Tattoo opening party) Or something like that. Unless you're planning on making a dedicated DBS section since there will probably be a substantial amount of DBS live appearances coming up in the not-too-distant future. Also, that instrumental piece after Breaking the Habit at West Palm Beach '07 that was mentioned a few posts back, that was actually Brad messing around with the notes from the first guitar solo in Shadow of the Day (which was the next song). Brad does that occassionally, I've heard him do similar things prior to songs like Numb and Breaking the Habit in recent years, and songs like High Voltage and In the End farther back. On this occasion though, Rob and Phoenix decided to join in and jam along with him a bit.
  14. Having seen QWERTY live myself and not being particularly impressed with it, I'll go with No Roads Left. If they'd settle on playing QWERTY the same way they played it in '06 or just playing the studio version live, instead of the weird combination version they did in '07, my opinion might change.
  15. The "epic" comment was referring only to New Divide/Transformers, not the new album.
  16. You're not going to get confirmation from LP, 1 because they shouldn't have to confirm something that's obvious to the naked eye, and 2, because it's not important. They used all kinds of props from the movie itself in the video, why the hell would it have been so hard to film Megan Fox lip-syncing the song at some point between the song coming out and the video shoot? Her parts in the video that aren't excerpts from the movie itself could've been filmed in about 5 minutes. The idea that they'd use Talinda as a stand-in for Megan Fox is absolutely ridiculous, she looks nothing like her.
  17. There is bass in the song, 100%. Why would they have filmed a bunch of shots of him playing bass for the individual shots on Day 1 and used some of them in the video? Your argument makes absolutely no sense.
  18. I'd appreciate somebody PM'ing this to me too, as once again, nobody on LPU has even MENTIONED the chat with Joe since it happened, let alone posted a transcript. Same thing happened with the Brad chat.
  19. I haven't seen many reviews of songs that refer to the guitar track in a singular form, regardless of how many individual parts are in the song. Plus any professionally-recorded song with distorted guitar parts has more than one guitar playing on the track due to doubling and whatnot. There are at least 3 guitars playing on the studio version of New Divide even though there's only one part. If there was more than one part, somebody other than Brad would be playing guitar in the video.
  20. http://www.discogs.com/artist/Don+Gilmore That was the third result when I searched his name, he's produced a lot more than that.
  21. They said LPU8 would be unique, and it WAS unique. They said RTR would have extras, and regardless of how lame the 3 tracks at the end was, they still are, by definition, "extras." They didn't lie a single time about either of those products, end of discussion.
  22. And the point of that was...?
  23. I think he's currently working on some stuff with Bullet For My Valentine, and he produced a few tracks on Hollywood Undead's last album. He's kind of fallen off the map a bit, he's not nearly as in-demand as he was a few years ago.
  24. If it's anything like the "death drop" stunt I'm thinking of, it's one of those things that looks spectacular but really isn't all that dangerous. Plus Chester might not even be the one doing the stunt.
  25. Bob Ezrin did The Wall by Pink Floyd and a bunch of Alice Cooper's stuff. He's also worked with Janes Addiction, Deftones, and 30 Seconds to Mars in the past few years.
