  1. Would you rather them not play any shows at all? The attitude of some people about LP's show announcements baffles me. ANY show is a good thing, regardless of where it is.
  2. They're at NRG, the same studio where they recorded HT and Meteora. They wouldn't rent out a studio of that calbier just to be their rehearsal/writing space, they'd get another cheap place like the Korn studio where they wrote stuff for MTM if they were going to do that.
  3. Kudos to LP for at least playing places in Germany that they've never played before. I still don't quite get why they play so many more shows there than anywhere else in Europe though. Anyway, I think they're just adding some headlining shows between the festival dates to fill out their schedule, instead of having 5 days off between Russia and England, and 6 days off between England and Japan. I really hope all you people in Sweden get a show!
  4. So what should we call this tour? The "We need some live material for the LPU9 CD" tour?
  5. I had forgotten about the cancelled Sweden/Switzerland shows from last year, this is probably a sort of unofficial makeup for that. And if that's the case, I wouldn't be surprised to see a Sweden date announced shortly. I also wonder if they'll make up some of the China shows later in August, since they'll be in Japan for Summer Sonic?
  6. Judging from the way the line up page is arranged now, it looks like the bands on the left will be playing one day, and the bands on the right will be playing the other. Looks like Machine Head is playing both days and the second band on the day LP is playing still hasn't been announced. I'd put money on that band being Jane's Addiction.
  7. Jesus christ, Linkin Park isn't even TOURING, and people are already going to start complaining about where they're not playing? They're playing festivals, that's it. If there's not a festival going on somewhere that fits into their schedule, they won't be playing there, simple as that. Linkin Park has played Germany TEN TIMES in less than 2 years, while they've played Russia twice in their entire career, and yet you think it sucks that LP is playing Russia and that they should be playing Germany instead. Unbelievable.
  8. LPU and LP.com both sent out emails confirming this.
  9. And I ask you once again: Why would someone print a fake setlist for a show that already happened? Why would they make the fake setlist only have a couple differences in it? It's been confirmed since the day after the show that Reading My Eyes was on the pre-show setlist, that was the biggest difference. Why would they go to all the trouble of faking a setlist for the sake of switching the order of 2 songs and replacing LFY with DOYS/LFY? And why would they only post it on their personal photo album on LP.com, where it would hardly be seen by anyone? It would be completely pointless. That picture had been uploaded for 4 months, and had like 12 total views when I found it the other day. The fake PR08 setlists were posted EVERYWHERE and seen by EVERYONE, were posted well before the tour started, and they were completely unrealistic and inaccurate compared to what the real setlists were. This setlist is the exact OPPOSITE of everything that those fake setlists were. The person with the setlist was at the show, has been to several other LP shows in the UK, provided us with a photo of his ticket stub, and pointed out exactly where he can be seen on the Road to Revolution DVD. He was given the setlist by one of LP's production team people at the front of the stage. The setlist is 100% real, period, end of story.
  10. I REALLY can't see that song working at all as a "heavy" tune, it's a total ballad. It obviously will have more stuff going on musically since the live version was just Chester, Ryan, and Amir, but I'd be extremely surprised if the basis of the song wasn't similar to what was played live.
  11. The live version of Let Down had a bunch of electronic stuff in it too...? Nowhere does it say that the album version will be any different/won't have acoustic guitars.
  12. Who says LP has to play all of their singles at every show? They already don't.
  13. I wonder if this is something that was recorded a while back, since it's an "outtakes" EP.
  14. It wasn't Warner who specifically disallowed the release of the Australian shows, it was Warner Music Australia. They claimed that doing so would hurt regional album sales of Minutes to Midnight. Metallica also does their show releases in a substantially different manner than LP does.
  15. Why on earth would someone post a fake setlist for a show that already happened, that we already know the setlist for? And yes, Rob does the setlists. I believe Mike mentioned that in the last LPU chat he did.
  16. I really don't think changing the order slightly, substituting DOYS/LFY for the album version, and dropping Reading My Eyes qualifies as "changing the setlist to something softer" like you guys are saying...all the soft songs that were played at Milton Keynes would have still been played in either setlist.
  17. http://linkinpark.com/photo/all/setlist_mk...?scope=uploaded - Original photo source (I rotated it to make it easier to read). Posted on LP.com by a member from the UK who attended the show. Also, I believe Jay-Z did DOYS/LFY (without the LP verses) as part of his set that day? I know he did at Glastonbury. If he did, that's probably why they dropped that one and played LFY by itself instead.
  18. Info about preliminary Milton Keynes setlist: http://lplive.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=1124
  19. I'm sure some of you remember reading reports that Reading My Eyes was on the preliminary setlist at Milton Keynes, but wasn't performed. Well we now have confirmation of that, along with a couple other interesting surprises... -Reading My Eyes would have been played after Points of Authority, as it had been at other Set X shows on the '08 European Tour. -Dirt Off Your Shoulder/Lying From You was supposed to be performed as the first song with Jay-Z, but was dropped in favor of the regular Lying From You. -Bleed it Out was originally supposed to be the last song before the encore, and Jigga What/Faint was supposed to close the show, but BIO was moved down to the very end. Source: http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b168/bul...645IMG_0794.jpg (thanks to whoever it was who uploaded this in the photos section on LP.com) If you take a look at the setlist in the DSP from the Milton Keynes show, you'll notice that it says "FINAL" at the top of the page, which indicates that it was changed at some point. This is obviously an earlier version of the setlist, before it was changed (maybe the setlist even went through multiple versions, who knows). Also, there's some writing to the left of the song titles on the picture I posted, and while it's pretty faint, you can see that it says "Cut" next to Reading My Eyes. I was going to just post this in the Site Corrections thread, but I figured not many people would see it there. lilIverson09 Edit - I decided to move this to newswire this a really good find. Do you think the MK show would have been better if this was the setlist for the night? Discuss!
  20. How can you say that LP's been playing the same setlist for the last 2 years when they didn't routinely do any setlist rotating AT ALL until the summer of 2007? Their setlists are more varied now than they have ever been. They played a total of 35 different songs on the Minutes to Midnight touring cycle alone! And this is just a theory, but LP's shows starting in mid-2007 were some of the longest concerts they've ever played, up to an hour and 40 minutes sometimes. Venues/cities have curfews, LP has to be off the stage by a certain time almost anywhere they play, and more talking between songs makes the show run even longer. I'd gladly take a 22-song setlist with zero talking over a 20-song setlist with a bunch of talking.
  21. Those pictures have been on that website for years.
  22. I've honestly NEVER seen a collaboration happen between multiple artists playing a festival. Collaborations almost always happen as a result of the friendships that are made on a tour where the same bands are playing together every night and seeing each other all the time. There's no way to really plan/rehearse collabs ahead of time with a festival. And besides, LP and NIN's versions of Wish are in two completely different keys, not to mention that Chester doesn't even sing the lyrics the same way Trent does.
  23. Pooch already said he's trying to see if the schedule will work out for him to mix LP's summer concerts.
  24. 25.07.2009 Pori, Finland, Kirjurinluoto, Sonisphere Festival should be 25.07.2009 Pori, Finland, Kirjurinluoto Arena, Sonisphere Festival and 01.08.2009 Knebworth, England, Knebworth Park, Sonisphere Festival should be 01.08.2009 Knebworth, England, Knebworth House, Sonisphere Festival All concerts in Knebworth are held on the grounds of the Knebworth House. LPU/LP.com also list the Knebworth show as being in Stevenage, but I know for a fact that Knebworth House is in Knebworth.
  25. I think the odds of them releasing DSPs for any of these summer shows increase substantially if Pooch winds up mixing for them again, since they know he can do it and trust him to do a good job. I think they'd be much more open to selling DSPs if they knew in advance that they had somebody they could count on to mix them. If they have a new FOH guy though, they probably won't see a point in working out how to do DSPs with him just for a handful of shows.
