  1. Bucket of Weenies: Chester Bennington - Lead vocals, guitar Ryan Shuck - Guitar, vocals Mike "Cheez" Brown - Guitar, vocals Mike Rouse - Bass Sean Dowdell - Drums They were a cover band that originally got together for fun to play cover songs at the Club Tattoo anniversary parties in 2005 and 2006, they also played a few other random shows. Sean and Chester co-own Club Tattoo, and Sean was also the drummer in Grey Daze. Mike Rouse is from a band called The Johns, and Cheez briefly played with TSOL and is also part of Chester's personal management/the Level 7 crew. They played various cover songs, as well as Morning After, and a couple original songs written by Cheez.
  2. The LPU 3 and 4 discs were enhanced discs that had additional content on them if you put them in your computer. The buddy icons, wallpapers, etc. were on those enhanced discs for those 2 years, instead of them being hosted on the LPU website like they normally are.
  3. Mark Wakefield is thanked in the booklet for every major Linkin Park release, he's part of the reason the band got to where they are now, even if he hasn't had anything to do with them for over 10 years. It's the same reason they thank all the bands they've toured with, even though they haven't toured with some of them for many years.
  4. Pretty sure it's not happening. They were on the initial list of Buzz Festivus bands on one website (the same one that confirmed the How the Edge Stole Christmas show before any other source did), but none of the other places with info on Buzz Festivus are listing them now.
  5. Like My December was any happier?
  6. Mike sang the second verse of My Own Summer when LP covered it, you know.
  7. The way this is worded, "not sure that we have stuff as far back as 04" makes me think they're just going to release the shows from 2007 onwards that were recorded but not released - Australia/New Zealand 2007, summer European tour 2008, the 2009 shows that weren't released as DSPs, maybe KROQ 2007, Wantagh 2007, the first part of Epicenter 2009 before the power outage (if the recording wasn't totally corrupted by the power outage). Maybe some pre-Projekt Revolution stuff from 2007, but I'm not sure if that was all recorded. They obviously DO have stuff from 2004, and even way earlier than that, so I don't see why he would make that kind of comment unless there's some kind of legal reasons preventing them from releasing shows from before Pooch became their sound engineer or something like that.
  8. Yeah, I just noticed they do that too. DMB is a very live-oriented band though (they have more live albums than studio albums), so the live tracks are pretty acceptable by their standards. Well a lot of fanclubs offer exclusive tracks via downloads, I was just talking about the fact that most don't actually bother to release a CD of them every year. I think it's pretty safe to assume Drum Song and Fear will have Mike singing on them.
  9. Neither of those are singing parts. Can you find an example of that NMS thing you mentioned? I haven't heard it, but I wouldn't know where to start looking.
  10. Yep, I believe it was not long after the HT special edition was released in 2002 that they started doing pressings with an updated booklet that lists him as the bass player. I'll probably have more info about that soon, my original HT is getting so worn out that I could really use a new copy.
  11. It's also nice to have a shirt that hasn't been vacuum-packed into a little cube so it can fit into the tiny box the Best Buy package comes in. It took me at least half a dozen washes to get the wrinkles out of my LPU 8 shirt enough for it to be wearable.
  12. *GROAN* The band was unhappy with how QWERTY sounded live because half of them liked the old live version from 2006 better, half of them liked the newer studio version better, and they couldn't agree on an arrangement to play live. That would explain them dropping the song... As for switching up the order, my best guess is that they have certain lighting effects, guitar changes between songs, etc. timed to happen like clockwork, and dropping one song from a set and replacing it with something else throws the flow off for the band, and perhaps even more importantly, their road crew. They may have tinkered with the order to find something that worked better for all parties involved. And more obviously, QWERTY was being played as an encore, while Don't Stay is one of those "early part of the set" type of songs, so they had to switch things around a bit there. That doesn't explain the entire second half of the set being completely jumbled around though.
  13. The LPU is pretty much the only fanclub for a big-name band that I'm aware of right now that does a fanclub-exclusive CD every year. The price is comparable to other fanclubs, but none of them offer a CD. With most of them, you'll get a t-shirt, website access, and maybe a sticker/pin/membership card.
  14. A great song ultimately comes down to capturing a feeling of inspiration. Sometimes that inspiration can be the initial inspiration you have to write a song, and a lot of really great songs have been of that variety, the ones that "write themselves." Paranoid by Black Sabbath was originally a filler song because the record label said their album wasn't long enough, so they wrote that song in about 15 minutes, and it's probably their second most popular song. Other times, you can have a piece of music or a lyrical idea or whatever that's been around for a while but never sounded up to par or you've never known what to do with it, and then you find the inspiration to make it great - look at Breaking the Habit, Mike had been trying to write that song since the HTEP days, but it had never come out the way he wanted it to, then one day he decided to put lyrics to the instrumental song Drawing and 2 hours later, he had BTH written. Obviously there are a lot of songs that fall into those categories - Great songs that were written quickly, and songs that took a long time that sound over-produced or uninspired. But there are examples of the opposite too, great songs that took a long time and crappy songs that were thrown together in a few hours or less.
  15. I would assume ASP was considered for the album at some point, QWERTY was. What on LPU4 would fit that description anyway though? Sold My Soul was a random instrumental that they recorded during the Collision Course recording sessions (I'm assuming), and Standing in the Middle isn't really even an LP song. GraDoN - LPU package prices really haven't increased at all over the years, the regular membership has always been $25 and I believe the international one has always been $32. The past couple years they've added an additional $5 shipping charge to the package though, so it comes to a total of $30 or $37. I really doubt that'll change, they've changed a lot of things about the LPU over the years, but they've always kept the price the same.
  16. The latest in a long line of "attention to detail"-type lists relating to LP I've made...this is a list of all songs Mike sings parts on during live performances, and what parts they are. 17. Announcement Service Public was on LPU 6.
  18. It was essentially just to make up for them dropping QWERTY (which they didn't play at several of the Set B shows before that anyway). They replaced QWERTY with Don't Stay and jumbled the order around a bit.

    DBS tabs

GMYN is rather easy for the most part, the chord progression for the verse is C-Am-Em-G, and the chorus is F-C-Am-Em-G7, or at least I think it ends on a G7. The vocal harmonies create a G7 chord at the end of the choruses so I would assume the acoustic guitars do the same, but they're kind of hard to hear clearly. There's a second acoustic part that slowly strums each chord change during the verse progression, the only part that's tricky is the slide guitar.

    DBS tabs

The acoustic version is actually pretty different than the electric one. I don't currently have an mp3 of the Vegas version though (I don't want a web-rip of the streaming version, I'm waiting for someone to send me the HQ version that you can purchase), plus the Vegas version is also a bit different from the '05 acoustic version, so I'm not exactly sure how I'll handle a tab of the acoustic version if I do one. BTW, for anybody who likes Guitar Pro tabs, I've been posting a few DBS ones on Ultimate-Guitar: http://profile.ultimate-guitar.com/Astat/contributions/ Fire and Crawl Back In both have bass parts in them too, which I don't have text tabs of currently, so if you're a bass player, you might want to check those out.

    Intros/Outros

Most of the intros/outros LP uses live don't have any special names for them. They also used the gunshot sample to open both of the extended OSC intros, which are completely different otherwise.
  22. No, there is not. Grecian was scrapped when they started working on QWERTY, as Rob said in the LPU 5 newsletter...which has been brought up in every discussion of "ZOMG PUT GRECIAN ON TEH NEW LPU CD PLZ MIKE!" for the last 3 years, apparently to no avail.
  23. Sounds more like the intro to Unconditional by The Bravery than anything else, to me.
  24. How the hell can anybody hate Chester's voice, but be able to tolerate anything that comes out of Tom Delonge's mouth?
  25. Mike "just confirmed" the tracklisting...5 hours ago.
