  1. Fuck. I had a bunch of shit happen at home last night and forgot all about the webcast. Hopefully somebody else comes through with a good rip. Otherwise, you can all blame this one on me. =/
  2. I wouldn't be surprised at all if this turns out to be DBS's last show in the United States.
  3. Have the DBS music videos even been getting airplay on television? I haven't heard anybody mention seeing them on TV.
  4. I think a lot of the lack of promotion can be blamed on the label not wanting DBS to compete with LP. There wasn't a new LP album on the horizon when Fort Minor came out, so it got a bigger push. At times, it almost seems like Warner wants to sweep DBS under the rug. I suppose some blame can be placed on the band as well for not getting the album done sooner. If the album had been released a year earlier, they could've spent a good 6 months doing hardcore DBS promotion, taken a break for the New Divide-related stuff and subsequent LP tour, then done some more shows towards the end of the year and in early 2010.
  5. I've heard the same edit on two different Cleveland-area stations. Both stations played the full song when it first came out but switched to the edit after a few weeks.
  6. The very beginning of it is there, but there's a really abrupt transition to where the vocals come back in after a couple seconds. It doesn't even fit in time with the song, it's like somebody just one-click highlighted and deleted most of the guitar solo in an audio editor.
  7. The radio edit of New Divide is pretty terrible too.
  8. I like these Q&A things. I'd be cool with doing one sometime if you want.
  9. The DVD is great, although if you've seen the 2003 LPTV episodes, you've seen a good 80% of what's on the DVD. Both the DVD and LPTV have some material that isn't shared between the two though.
  10. And LGBT (and the various other abbreviations of it) reminds me of BLT. Therefore, the next LPL exclusive is going to involve delicious sandwiches.
  11. 3 of Metallica's best albums only have 8 or 9 songs on them. Ride the Lightning and Master of Puppets have 8, ...And Justice For All has 9.
  12. Uhh...it says "Chali 2na" in the album credits and in every advertisement I've seen. In fact, I don't think they used the Jurassic 5 name one single time in conjunction with Reanimation. Guy needs to get his facts straight. But that's an old-ass interview, and LP has since performed with Jurassic 5 at MFR 05, so I'd imagine things were smoothed over at some point. I wouldn't be surprised if this guy's attitude and apparent jealousy toward Chali 2na had something to do with the Jurassic 5 breakup in 07 though.
  13. Yeah. that's Kanye. I remember those pictures spawned a frenzy of "ZOMG KANYE IS GONNA COLLAB WITH LP AT LIVE 8!" right before the show.

    History

Dead By Sunrise is playing in Las Vegas tonight. I first discovered LPL when you and I were brainstorming the idea of a comprehensive Linkin Park live guide before it even existed.
  15. Their first full tour will be in Europe, guarantee it. They might do a couple random one-off shows in the U.S. first though...the beginning of the MTM promo tour (prior to the first full European tour in May of 07) jumped around a lot.
  16. I say change the main site to LPL, but keep the LPLG banner on the actual live guide pages.
  17. I'm sure that's part of it as well. We know of a handful of pre-MTM songs that the band isn't particularly fond of - Chester doesn't like Runaway, Hit the Floor, or Nobody's Listening. He's also had negative things to say about One Step Closer and In the End in the past, but those turned out to be huge hits, so I doubt he minds performing them anymore. Mike hasn't flat-out said he dislikes Easier to Run, but he's said the song "didn't turn out the way they wanted it to," so I'd imagine it isn't viewed favorably by the band.
  18. Bamboozle 07, Rock Am Ring 07, Wantagh 07, KROQ 07, and the rest of Europe 08 PLZ? KTHXBAI! Also, you forgot Istanbul 09.
  19. Dipset (or Dip Set, a.k.a. the Diplomats) is a rap crew based out of Harlem, NY that Juelz Santana is part of. Cam'ron and Jim Jones are the two other big names involved with it.
  20. I'd say that's a good possibility. The band had just been playing APFMH (as well as Valentine's Day and Reading My Eyes) on the Europe tour before PR08, so I don't think it would've been a matter of them needing to rehearse the song and freshen up on it, they probably just didn't have all the necessary programming stuff with them to be able to play it properly. ...Or they could've just legitimately not wanted to play it, lol.
  21. Right, but they didn't add different songs to any of those setlists, they just changed the order of existing songs or replaced dropped songs with songs they were already playing in other sets (Don't Stay replacing QWERTY, Cure for the Itch replacing We Made It). It's a lot easier to just swap the order around than it is to throw something entirely new into the mix...changing the order can probably be accomplished by just clicking and dragging things around on the various computer-controlled devices.
  22. Maybe they're uhh...down for maintenance?
  23. To anybody who doesn't actively follow the band online, it most certainly is. I would say less than 5% of fans in attendance at a Linkin Park show these days have ever heard a single song from the HTEP. They haven't...or if they have, it's happened so rarely that even I'm not aware of it. I don't think you realize just how hard it is for LP to change a setlist on the fly. -Brad's pedalboard has all the songs of a setlist programmed in order with all the effects changes and everything pre-planned out. If LP were to add a song at the last minute, he would have to completely reprogram his entire guitar effects rig. -The band plays to a click track that is started by their monitor engineer from offstage before each song. The tempos for all the songs are known well ahead of the start of a tour. This is the kind of stuff the band works out during rehearsals weeks before a tour begins. Ethan wouldn't have a clue what the tempo of a song was if the band added it at the last minute, and without a click track, all of LP's prerecorded samples would get off sync with the live instruments. -Joe's Scratch Live program has the show setlist programmed into it with all the subsequent samples, similar to how Brad's guitar rig is. Joe's sampler also doesn't have every single song from the Linkin Park catalog programmed into it at any given time, so LP can't just add a song on a whim, because they likely don't have all the necessary samples to play it. -The road crew. The guitar/bass techs have all the tunings/instrument changes worked out during rehearsals, throwing a new song into the set would completely throw that off. Pooch mixes the show using a digital mixing profile, which much like Brad's guitar rig and Joe's computer, has all of the songs pre-programmed in order, along with what level/EQ settings go along with each of them. The light show is also run by a computer that syncs everything to the music. LP would have to consult with their ENTIRE touring crew and make the appropriate changes before they could even think about doing a surprise performance of a song, if they wanted it to work just as well as the rest of a setlist, anyway. People really need to realize that nearly every aspect of a Linkin Park live performance is predetermined during rehearsals, and it's next to impossible for a band like LP that relies so heavily on computers and pre-recorded samples/pre-programmed settings for their live shows to do an impromptu performance of...well, anything.
  24. I have a feeling they're just going to roll out the remaining 2008/2009 LPTV episodes when the promotional campaign for the new album starts to ramp up, similar to what they did with the retrospective LPTV episodes before MTM came out.
  25. If they do at all, I bet you anything it'll just be the same 5 we already have. Which is pretty much the same answer that's been given every time the band's been asked about another LPU tour in the future. Don't count on it. Highly doubtful it was in 2001. It was most likely sometime in 2000.
