They'll probably talk mostly about Download to Donate. Mike just posted info about 8-Bit Rebellion being pushed back earlier today so I doubt they'll focus on that much. The typical Loveline LULZ will be great though. Especially because Brad is probably the last member of the band I'd expect to go on Loveline.

So if Chester is going on Tour with DBS does that mean...
Astat replied to Anality's topic in Everything Linkin Park
Like I've said before, I'm sure LP has a system in place that allows them to focus on things that require Chester's participation while he's around, and work on other stuff when he isn't. This run in Asia is only 3 shows long, then the European tour doesn't start for almost 3 weeks. Chester will probably go right back into the studio with LP when he gets back from Asia, having only been gone for about a week. They might spend these few days focusing on guitar or drum tracks, or something like that. The album is still far from being finished. I don't even think they're done with that second batch of songs yet. Chester being gone for a week then coming right back and being available for almost 3 more weeks is holding up the album? Seriously? -
Dead By Sunrise's second of two Tokyo performances is coming up tonight, this time at Shibuya AX. Last night's show saw the live debuts of Into You and the album version of In the Darkness, does the band have any other surprises in store for us? Does anybody have any pictures/video from either Tokyo show? Update: Setlist: 01. Fire 02. Inside Of Me 03. Morning After 04. Too Late 05. Let Down 06. Walking In Circles 07. In The Darkness 08. Into You 09. End Of The World 10. Condemned 11. My Suffering ------------------------------ 12. Crawl Back In 13. 20 Eyes (The Misfits cover) Thanks to Elias for the info! Setlist photo here and show page here.

http://www.lplive.net/shows/20020208.php - Song numbers jump from 11 to 13. http://www.lplive.net/shows/20020220.php - Papercut and APFMH weren't actually "stopped and restarted" at this show, they just stopped in the middle of the song, and once the crowd calmed back down, they picked up where they left off. So the "Take 1/Take 2" stuff is unnecessary (Crawling from Oklahoma was different, they actually did stop and restart the song there).

Dead By Sunrise Tokyo 27.01.10 Setlist
Astat replied to Alexonlyalex's topic in Previous Show Discussion
I'm sure they could add some other covers from the Bucket of Weenies repertoire, but I think Chester (and a lot of other major-label artists) has the mindset that fans don't buy tickets to a show to hear a bunch of covers. If you want to hear a cover band, you can just go to a bar, you know? I think that's also part of why LP has never been very big on playing cover songs. As for Julien-K, it would make sense, but a lot of DBS fans aren't Julien-K fans, and vice-versa. I think Chester should just play Give Me Your Name acoustic by himself, it'd probably translate better live that way than it would if they tried to pull off the full band version. And remember, filling up a full headlining time slot is something every new band struggles with when they only have one album out. LP had the same problem in 2001-2002. Look at PR 2002, they were playing everything from Hybrid Theory except Cure for the Itch, plus Step Up, My December, My Own Summer, and And One/It's Goin' Down, and their sets were still barely over an hour long. -
I think sometimes he screams "breaking apart" one more time after that, but on most live recordings it just sounds like "RABLABLAH!!!!!"

Dead By Sunrise Tokyo 27.01.10 Setlist
Astat replied to Alexonlyalex's topic in Previous Show Discussion
Sweet, if they stick to this set and somebody records good quality video of one of the upcoming shows, I might finally be able to figure out In the Darkness on guitar. -
The first of 3 Dead By Sunrise shows in Asia is tomorrow (actually in about 14 hours if you go by local time), at the Liquid Room in Tokyo, Japan. Anybody from LPL going? If you are, let us know about the setlist! EDIT: Meet & Greet (not the LPL one) picture can be found HERE.

Keep it locked up inside, stand alone on the outside. </thread>

Chester's expressed interest in the whole "all LP-related acts festival" thing in the past (see below), but really, it's unrealistic and probably never going to happen. Chester has a hard enough time maintaining his voice with the normal workload of Linkin Park stuff, he'd be completely shot within a month if DBS did a full set opening for LP on tour. It most definitely was NOT a joke, as Chester repeatedly made that statement in numerous interviews, and Ryan has also expressed similar sentiments (LP/Orgy/DBS/Fort Minor/Julien-K/Circuit Freq/JKDJs all playing together). Unrealistic, yes, but they definitely would like to do it, at least as a one-time festival type of thing. FYI, Orgy has not broken up. There's a strong possibility of them doing another tour together in the near future. Amir, Ryan, and Jay are all on board, they just need to round up Bobby and Paige.

Questions about Music for Relief song "Not Alone"
Astat replied to Anality's topic in Everything Linkin Park
Mike said that they "never used the song before because it never felt finished." If it was a demo from the new album, they wouldn't have had a chance to "use it" for anything yet. Brad also mentions in the LPTV episode that he's "remembering how the song goes" as he's listening to it, which would indicate that it's old enough that he had forgotten about it. I'm 99% sure it's an MTM demo. -
Mike confirmed on his last blog post about the song he did for this album that he's singing on it, not rapping.

Cypress Hill's newest album, Rise Up, has finally been given a release date, and will be out on April 6th on Priority Records. As has been previously reported, Mike Shinoda produced and sang on a track on the album. Source

Questions about Music for Relief song "Not Alone"
Astat replied to Anality's topic in Everything Linkin Park
Musically, it sounds very much like a seed that would've come out of the MTM demos. Plus, Mike just confirmed that it's an older demo with new lyrics. -
The title is a bit misleading, as Mr. Brown is actually not part of the medley (it's the song before the medley in the setlist). But it's essentially a medley of a few Styles of Beyond songs (You Lose/Megadef/Bleach), Tak's verse from Respect 4 Grandma, and 2 original verses by Mike.

Questions about Music for Relief song "Not Alone"
Astat replied to Anality's topic in Everything Linkin Park
I wouldn't be surprised if they release it as a bonus track on the new album somewhere just to have it available on CD (assuming the Haiti compilation isn't released on CD at a later date), but it won't be part of the "standard" new album. Still not sure when it was recorded. I'm kind of leaning towards it being an MTM b-side. -
Uhh...there are no live drums ANYWHERE in this song, all of the "percussion" is clearly sampled and looped. Mike could've played the guitar. Mike could've done all of the samples except for the small bit of scratching at the end. Mike could've played the bass, if that's even real bass. Sounds more like a programmed bass part to me. I'm pretty much positive that Rob and Phoenix didn't play anything on this song, and the guitar part is 50/50, could be Mike or Brad. The lyrics sound EXTREMELY Katrina-inspired. Wouldn't surprise me at all if this song was recorded during the MTM sessions. Moron #1... Moron #2...ever listened to Numb, Hit the Floor, or Don't Stay? Apparently not. You clearly have absolutely no knowledge of music whatsoever. Synth parts like this were around long before Lady Gaga, beats like this are found in all types of music (not to mention being right in line with beats LP has used in the past), and falsetto singing is probably harder to do than any of Chester's screaming parts are. But I guess I can't expect someone like you to understand that. Losing respect for a singer over one of the best vocal performances of their career, yeah, that makes a lot of sense. Newsflash: Mike's not going to "save" LP from music like this, because Mike probably WROTE THE DAMN SONG.
-
The song as a whole kind of reminds me of She Couldn't. No offense meant toward Not Alone, I like it quite a bit, but I think the Kenna track on this compilation is better. AWESOME song.
-
No problems here whatsoever, worked the first time. Their server is probably just overloaded with the number of people trying to download it right now.
-
The album download has track numbers 1 through 10, but 6 is missing. I guess that's supposed to be the Lupe song...hmm.

Reading Phoenix's tweet again, I can't believe nobody realized this before: He's probably asking John Mayer if HE wants to contribute a track to the project. MFR is LP's charity, so why would Phoenix be asking somebody else about contributing an LP track to something MFR-related? I now seriously doubt that this means anything in terms of LP music, new or old. *Edit* Nevermind, didn't read beyond Page 3.

*facepalm* They're talking about the thousands of people who died in the Haiti earthquake...makes perfect sense. You just signed up today, you've made 5 posts, 4 of which were blatantly insulting in some manner, you make no effort to post with proper spelling/grammar, and you're trying to tell someone who's been here for 7 months that THEY should "get the fuck out of these forums" and that THEY'RE a "piece of shit?" Take a look in the mirror. You'll have plenty of time to do so with your posting privileges revoked.
-
You know, this doesn't even necessarily mean new music. Music For Relief could just put together a compilation album (through iTunes or something) where all the proceeds go towards the Haiti earthquake relief, and LP could just contribute an album track for all we know.

Phoenix uses Twitter, Mike doesn't?

I believe that's the same Telecaster that Mike posted a picture of on his blog before - http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b168/bul...reewebs/m25.jpg Looks like he just took the metal cover off the bridge. And yeah, that's Mike's home studio. The drum kit is probably just there for rough ideas or for when Rob's working with Mike at his house. Joe has a drum kit in his home studio as well, even though he doesn't play (as far as I know).
